00:00We begin this bulletin with big breaking news coming in.
00:03This is related to Rahul Gandhi, as trouble seems to be brewing for Rahul Gandhi
00:08for allegedly pushing a female journalist during his march to Supreme Court on October 2th.
00:14Now, the journalist, Richa Prasher, has filed a criminal complaint with the DCP New Delhi District.
00:22Now, she is seeking immediate registration of an FIR against Rahul Gandhi and some others.
00:28The complaint concerns mistreatment, threats and use of criminal force against the three-month pregnant journalist
00:36on 12th of October while reporting Rahul Gandhi's protest at the Supreme Court.
00:46So, the journalist, it seems, is now seeking an FIR against opposition leader Rahul Gandhi
00:54for an alleged push that she claims was made and she claims that there was use of criminal force.
01:01She is expecting the Delhi police to file an FIR against Rahul Gandhi, the leader of opposition.
01:08Now, this had happened during the march that Rahul Gandhi and the Congress Party had organized
01:14along with other India Bloc leaders.
01:15And after that, this journalist had claimed that she was hurt.
01:21She was, in fact, admitted at the hospital as well.
01:24The BJP leaders had gone there, had met up with her and continuously raised her issue as well.
01:30And now it seems Rahul Gandhi can expect some sort of a pressure to come down
01:35upon the Delhi police for registration of an FIR.
01:56So, Richa Prashad, as you see her there on your screens, she is the lady journalist who allegedly
02:03was pushed by Rahul Gandhi.
02:07Joining us now is India Today's Anshul Singh.
02:09Anshul, what are we hearing about this plea by the journalist?
02:15What kind of an FIR does she want to be registered?
02:20Well, she has given a complaint to the Delhi Police in which she has gone ahead and alleged
02:24that the intention with which Rahul Gandhi absolutely pushed her is against the law.
02:30And there are several sections that have been mentioned by the journalist herself in the
02:34complaint that has now been given to the DPP due to any fact she has gone ahead and said
02:40that Section 74 of the DNS, that is, using criminal force against a woman, is something that
02:47should be enforced against Rahul Gandhi.
02:49Apart from that, other serious sections of politics are causing hurt and rash and negligence
02:55at indigenous human rights.
02:57So, these are the sections at which the journalist has gone ahead and sought and FIA should be
03:04registered as a case.
03:06Rahul Gandhi, the leader of opposition for the manner in which he, that happened on a day
03:11when Rahul Gandhi along with us, other leaders of the entire blog, had gone to the 24-25-50 for
03:18hearing matters related to the SIR.
03:20Now, the Delhi Police has received this complaint.
03:22They have started an official investigation into this entire matter.
03:26CCTV footages and footages recorded on video cameras from people who were in the nearby area
03:34is something that is now in short.
03:36By the Delhi Police, also, I have a technical treatment to be recorded before any sort of an
03:40FIA that could be registered in this entire matter.
03:43So, an official investigation has been launched.
04:02While this entire incident had given enough political fodder for the BJP, did the journalists
04:11not file a complaint earlier?
04:13Because there were some reports that she had approached the Delhi Police with a criminal
04:17complaint around October 12th.
04:22Well, when this incident happened on that exact day, she was admitted to a hospital and the
04:28initial medical legal certificate that is the NSC of the, of the, was done on that day.
04:34Post that, there was no official police complaint per se that was given.
04:38However, the serial lawyer of the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court of the BJP, Baurav Bhatia,
04:45had posted in front of the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court also agreed to hear as to
04:50kind of a time here as to what had actually been acquired on that many days.
04:54But there was no particular police complaint that was given from the side of the journalists.
04:58Now, after, after three to four days, the Supreme Court has happened, she has been released
05:03from the, well, from the hospital.
05:06She was admitted there for at least two days after she has been released.
05:09And now she has gone ahead and given the official complaint with the test police.
05:13All right.
05:13Thank you very much, Anshul, for those details.
