Did you know that in Japan, a late train is an extremely rare occurrence? Yet, when it does happen, the situation is taken very seriously: train conductors personally apologize to every passenger and refund your fare. But that’s not even the best part. If the delay exceeds five minutes, every passenger is given a slip documenting the delay—which you can show your boss or school to prove that arriving late wasn't your fault—saving you the embarrassment of having to make up an excuse.
