00:00TMR vs potentiometer joysticks, quick version, potentiometers have a carbon pad and a metal
00:05wiper that physically scrape together every time you move the stick. That scraping wears a groove,
00:11the resistance reading drifts, and your character walks on its own. TMR sticks read a magnetic field
00:16instead, no contact, nowhere, so drift basically can happen. I went through 5 RS-13 replacements
00:23that actually hold up, sorted by bang for buck, so let's get into it. First up, the one I'd grab
00:29if you just want a single stick to test the waters. This RS-13 TMR electromagnetic unit is third-gen,
00:36all-metal housing, and it fixes the exact problem potentiometers have because there's nothing
00:41inside rubbing against anything. $6.64, 4.5 stars, over 4,500 sold. Look, if your left stick is drifting
00:50so bad you can't aim, this is the cheapest way to find out if TMR is the upgrade you keep
00:55hearing
00:55about. One stick, one install, done. Next, the 2-pack and 10-pack from Ginful.
01:03Same RS-13 Max third-gen TMR sensor, but this is the listing for people repairing more than one
01:08controller. $12.87, and it's sitting at a perfect 5 stars with over 4,000 orders, that's a hard rating
01:15to fake. Anti-drift analog sensor, drop-in fit for PS5 gamepads. If you've got two controllers sitting
01:23in a drawer with Drift, or you fix controllers for friends, buying in pairs is just cheaper per stick.
01:29My favorite pick if you're doing a batch. Then we have the value king, and I mean that literally.
01:36$3.01, RS-13 TMR for PS5, Gen 3 angle sensor, and it also fits DualSense Edge.
01:434.9 stars, over 4,000 sold. Nothing on this list beats it on price per stick.
01:50Now, be realistic, at $3, treat it as a single replacement part, not a stockpile.
01:56If you want to prove to yourself that TMR beats potentiometer before spending real money,
02:01start here. It's the lowest risk weigh-in.
02:05The RS-13 Max is the one for anyone still on last-gen hardware.
02:10This angle TMR electromagnetic stick has a linear hull sensor and a genuinely noticeable
02:15precise rebound, it snaps back to center clean, which is exactly what a worn potentiometer can't do.
02:21559, 4.7 stars, 4,000 plus sold. It fits PS4 and Xbox One, so if your old controller has
02:29a mushy,
02:30drifting stick but the rest of it is fine, this saves you from buying a whole new pad.
02:34Great mid-range pick.
02:36Last one, and the most premium here.
02:39RS-13 Max TMR electromagnetic hall-effect stick, third-gen angle sensor, made for PS4 and Xbox One
02:46Elite controllers. 685, 4.8 stars, over 4,000 sold. The extra dollar over the previous one buys
02:55you a build that matches what Elite owners expect, and Elite controllers are expensive to replace a
03:00$7 part versus a whole new pad is a no-brainer. Best choice if your controller is worth protecting.
