We recently flew from Brisbane to Rome with retreat organiser, travel creator and business guru Jacqui Toumbas on Singapore Airlines Premium Economy to see if it was worth the extra splurge…

“I am not a good plane sleeper. I'm normally the person who watches three films, gets forty minutes somewhere over India and lands feeling like a ghost. So this surprised me.”

With a calfrest, footrest, and Book The Cook service where you can pre-order your favourite in-flight meal, we put the perks to the test. Read all about it here: https://www.theurbanlist.com/brisbane/a-list/singapore-airlines-jacqui-toumbas

00:00Welcome to my travel diary as someone who's lucky enough to travel for work.
00:03Hi, I'm Jackie, and today I'm bringing you with me from Brisbane to Rome with Singapore Airlines.
00:08Brisbane Airport does valet parking now, which is a ridiculously easy way to start the trip.
00:12But let's get started.
00:12Hello, priority check-in.
00:14Perk number one of Singapore Airlines' premium economy is priority check-in,
00:18giving me a faster check-in and priority baggage.
00:22Now that I've checked in, I'm squeezing in a little spot of retail therapy.
00:25I pre-ordered my Brisbane Airport duty-free shopping online before arriving,
00:29but was ready to collect before my flight.
00:31Then a light dinner before priority boarding, thanks to premium economy.
00:34First thing I do on a long-haul flight is set up my space.
00:36Heaps of storage pockets to pop everything in,
00:39then of course into the amenities pouch and settled in for the next few hours.
00:43After touching down in Changi Airport in Singapore for my layover,
00:45I had a little bit of time to stretch my legs before my next flight.
00:48I officially hopped on my final leg.
00:51I had to check out the movies and TV shows available on Chris World in flight entertainment
00:55and then tried to get some sleep.
00:56My premium economy seat had extra leg room, a deeper recline, a calf rest and a foot rest,
01:02which made it super comfy.
01:04And finally, Rome.
01:05Honestly, one of the smoothest flights I've had and probably the most I've ever slept.
01:09So if you're considering upgrading or booking Singapore Airlines' premium economy,
01:12let this be your sign to do it.
01:14Four daily services are running from Brisbane with premium economy,
01:17available on SQ266 from November 2026.
