00:02O Mundial de Loto em Paris este ano
00:04welcomed over 60 brands, over 400 caras
00:07and half a million car lovers,
00:10including many industry leaders.
00:13My absolute favorite is the headlight
00:15where you see the hundreds of stars.
00:17That's the little detail that really makes the car luxury.
00:20That's a really great feature.
00:23You see, from the design,
00:25it's my favorite color, matching for my suit.
00:30I trust that it's 100%.
00:34I really love this headlight unit.
00:36It spans the whole width of the front
00:38and incorporates all lighting functions.
00:40So that's my piece of love in that car.
00:48This is one of Europe's biggest car shows.
00:50And this year in Paris, one of the highlights
00:52has to be the presence of so many Chinese car brands,
00:56bringing their unique style and innovation
00:58to European roads.
01:00So we're here to meet them and find out more.
01:08One of the key trends from Chinese manufacturers
01:10is their expansion into new segments of the market.
01:14It's the case for BYD,
01:16the world's biggest electric car company,
01:18who chose Paris this year
01:19for the European launch of their premium brand, Denza.
01:22It means a lot because Paris is the capital for fashion,
01:28capital of the brand building for luxury brands.
01:31Then in Denza, it's important we're launching the Denza brand successfully here
01:36and blending the technology, luxury,
01:40into the art, culture, history.
01:44Another Chinese car maker aiming for upmarket buyers is Zika,
01:48designed in Sweden and part of the Geely Group.
01:51Some of their vehicles can charge their batteries
01:53from 10% to 80% in 10 and a half minutes,
01:57a technology they hope will attract customers.
02:00First of all, I have to say,
02:02the consumer in Europe,
02:04they have changed over the last years.
02:06So almost everyone wants a car with advanced tech,
02:09so technology is getting very important.
02:11Second big point is,
02:13I think it's around 60% of the consumers want electrification.
02:18That has changed a lot
02:19and a big part of the consumers
02:21are looking really for craftsmanship,
02:23quality, premiumness.
02:25So we are entering with Zika now exactly
02:27to fulfil these customer requirements.
02:30This biennial show comes amid trade tensions
02:33between Europe and China,
02:35a new deal to limit the number of hybrid cars
02:37exported from China to the EU
02:39and Chinese firms now making cars
02:42in European factories to sidestep tariffs.
02:45Not that trade policy is top of mind
02:47for the crowds in Paris.
02:49Often, they're here to find their next car.
02:52There are a lot of visitors
02:53who will undoubtedly discover
02:54their next car here.
02:56That's nothing.
02:57So that's the first thing.
03:0028% of our visitors
03:01have the intention of renewing their car
03:04in the 12 months
03:05that follow the salon.
03:06And it's up to 50%
03:08if they need a test.
03:13For many visitors here in Paris,
03:15this is their first chance
03:15to see these Chinese cars
03:17in the metal,
03:18to admire the bodywork
03:19and to sit in the driver's seat.
03:21And that is an important moment
03:23for any brand.
03:24That's particularly true for newcomers
03:27like Aito,
03:28which will only begin selling vehicles
03:29in Europe from autumn next year.
03:31This five-year-old brand
03:33wants Europeans to embrace
03:34its vision of what a high-end car can be.
03:37And that includes autonomous driving.
03:39Our philosophy is
03:41the intelligence redefining luxury.
03:45So we can consider
03:46that this car
03:48is the traditional luxury
03:49and the intelligence luxury.
03:51For example,
03:53and from my home to office
03:54and almost 20 kilometers,
03:57okay,
03:58I just put my hand on the well,
04:00just it,
04:01and bring me from home to the office.
04:06Establishing a place
04:07in the European market
04:08is a challenge for any carmaker.
04:11Chang'an is doing so
04:12by hiring local talent
04:13to work on its products and marketing,
04:15with its design center
04:17in Turin, Italy,
04:18and its sales and R&D base
04:20in Munich, Germany.
04:22We differentiate by design
04:24and by value for money
04:26and by quality.
04:28The offer is so large
04:29and there are so many opportunities
04:32out there.
04:33So to get customers to your brand,
04:35you need to have it all.
04:37and in a very handsome,
04:40elegant shape
04:41and that's what we also try
04:43to deliver
04:43and bring to the table.
04:48Well, that's all we have time for
04:50from the Mondial de l'Auto
04:51here in Paris.
04:52You can stay up to date
04:53with the latest innovations
