00:00Oxford Street is set to become traffic-free across a large section, changing how people
00:06travel through one of London's busiest shopping areas.
00:09From the 26th of October, the pedestrianised zone will run between Orchard Street and Great
00:15Portland Street.
00:16The first phase is designed as a test, with changes reviewed before final plans are agreed.
00:22Buses will be diverted onto nearby roads, with some routes using different stops and
00:26others terminating around Marble Arch.
00:28Transport for London says signs and staff will help passengers navigate the changes.
00:34Deliveries will still be allowed overnight, while emergency services will retain access.
00:40The project is expected to cost £150 million.
