00:00In Rio de Janeiro, Brazilian musician Chico Huarque organized a football match in support of Lula one week before the
00:07presidential runoff, where the future of the country is at stake.
00:11Our special envoy Belen de los Santos has more.
00:15Hello, studios. Once again here from Recreo dos Vandereintes in Rio de Janeiro, an important day because a football match
00:22took place here today, an important football match because it was organized by Brazilian musician and legend, really, Chico Huarque.
00:31He organized and also took part of the game. We have been seeing him play on this new, completely other
00:39scale than what we know him for.
00:41And he participated with none other than the T-shirt 13, 13 for Lula in this election.
00:49And this match also brought together as a special invitation, the evangelical pastors that are also in favor of the
00:57Lula campaign and tending those bridges to that progressive sector of the evangelical community is so important at this moment.
01:06We are just one week away from the runoff and many understand, as we have been saying for the past
01:13days, that there's much more at risk in this election.
01:16It's not just two candidates. It's really democracy itself, the institutions, the entire project of sovereignty for a country and
01:25a region.
01:26And that is why so many different actors have come together in order to defend this project in its last
01:34days before the runoff.
01:36We have been seeing musicians such as Caetano Veloso as well yesterday, who gathered a multitude in Rio de Janeiro.
01:43Let's recall that these are artists that lived through Brazil's military dictatorship, that actually were victims of its repression and
01:51are now coming together in this symbolical act, really to gather everyone in the last stretch of this campaign.
01:59This is what we have for now, but we have been following closely every event.
02:04And of course, we will have more information as usual.
02:07Now I go back to you.
