00:01Holy hell.
00:03Bro, France, they do not protest.
00:05They temporarily collapse civilization.
00:09They've had some of the biggest protests they've seen in years,
00:11and that is saying something.
00:12This is France we're talking about.
00:14I mean, having baguettes at a cafe on a Saturday morning
00:17while riot police race passed
00:19is probably the most French thing I've seen in a while.
00:22Government figures say that over half a million people
00:25took to the streets yesterday,
00:26while other figures are claiming that number is even higher.
00:30The mayor of Paris said today
00:32that whole streets have been devastated.
00:35Over in Les Moges, the town hall was burnt down
00:38and has been largely lost.
00:40In Lyon, protesters torched the city's tourist office.
00:44Paris police say that a record number of people
00:46were arrested for a single event.
00:49And also in the center of the capital city,
00:51a very famous monument was heavily, heavily damaged.
00:55And it sends a pretty strong signal to the government
00:57as this statue is meant to represent liberty, equality, and fraternity.
01:03Values that many of these protesters are saying
01:05they no longer have in the country.
01:08And they're not alone
01:09because this Gen Z revolution
01:11is on a bit of a world tour right now
01:13because also for somewhat similar reasons,
01:15we saw major protests this week
01:17in other countries like Albania,
01:19India, Spain, Italy, and Belgium.
01:22So, I mean, I just think...
