00:01Hello friends! In this video we can see how the ground drones of the Bowling Beavers unit of the
00:07100th Mechanized Brigade use active protection systems to take down the IVAN drones that try
00:12to destroy them. The countermeasures launch nets at the attacker, tangling its propellers and
00:18making it crash to the ground. This unit of the 100th Brigade, the one also known as the Steel
00:23100, specializes in combat operations using ground drones. Between January and September
00:30of this year, they carried out 2,946 missions, transporting over 475 tons of supplies and
00:37evacuating 15 wounded soldiers. According to the Brigade Command, it is currently the only formation
00:43within the Ukrainian forces that has fully integrated an active protection system, based
00:48on net launching into all its robotic ground systems.
00:57Those who don't have active protection systems against mosquitoes are IVAN's light air defense
01:02units, which in this case are intercepted behind the front lines by a Ukrainian drone. So the
01:08driver attempts a daring evasive maneuver, which apparently wasn't very successful, but hey,
01:14at least we got some laughs out of it.
01:16We're staying airborne because on October 19th, the defenders announced a historic milestone,
01:22the aerial evacuation of a wounded soldier directly from a frontline position,
01:26using a heavy cargo hexacopter to do so. The soldier, an infantryman from the 30th Mechanized
01:33Brigade, had remained trapped, fighting from his position for nearly 500 days under constant siege
01:38by Russian drones, one of which finally managed to wound him, making his evacuation urgent.
01:44However, due to the multiple minefields laid by both sides in the area, it was impossible to
01:49carry out a conventional ground evacuation on foot or using unmanned ground vehicles.
01:54The Unmanned Ground Systems Company of the 92nd Assault Brigade shows how the soldier was
01:59suspended using a climbing harness beneath a heavy six-motor hexacopter.
02:04Gursuv Defense, the Ayudag-6 model, Ukrainian-made, weighing approximately 98 kilograms, which was
02:11originally designed as a bomber drone, and it has a standard payload capacity of up to 90 kilograms,
02:16although in emergencies, it can lift up to 130 kilograms.
02:22Engineers warned that the weight of a suspended person will cause excessive swaying.
02:34Gursuv Defense, the manufacturing company, supplied the drone free of charge.
02:39The operation was meticulously planned and involved several units.
02:45First, a special harness with carabiners was delivered to the wounded soldier using another drone.
02:51Subsequently, the modified cargo drone arrived, to which the wounded man clipped himself using
02:56carabiners following the radio instructions from his comrades.
02:59The aircraft was piloted by an operator from the 30th Brigade.
03:03The flight lasted one hour, 14 minutes and 36 seconds, during which it covered 62 kilometers
03:10to a safe extraction point, where he was received by his comrades and a medical team
03:15who transported him to a medical post. During the flight, other drone operators maintained
03:21strict surveillance of the airspace, also countering Ivan's electronic interference in the area.
03:26Officers of the 92nd Brigade described the mission as an extremely complex operation,
03:31but one that ended successfully. They emphasized that this is a historic milestone that marks a new
03:38stage in evacuating the wounded from frontline positions. Even so, that this type of mission remains
03:45a last resort as the risks to a wounded person during flight are significant and every such mission must
03:50be planned individually, depending on the location and frontline conditions.
03:56Once again, the defenders proved that no comrade is left behind.
04:05On October 15th, Ukraine's 15th Black Forest Artillery Reconnaissance Brigade released footage
04:11showing the neutralization of a Russian mobile fireteam, which has now become an immobile fireteam,
04:16according to the brigade itself. The footage shows that the pickup truck is equipped with a fairly
04:21heavy weapon station and a large letter Z that always attracts the attention of the drones and is
04:27neutralized by what appears to be loitering munition. So far, a satisfying story, yes, but hardly unusual.
04:34Mobile fireteams are small units that usually travel in pickup trucks or other light vehicles and are
04:40armed with heavy machine guns and manned portable missiles. Since 2025, Russia has considerably expanded
04:48these units to protect its logistical routes, rear areas, and frontline positions against Ukrainian
04:54drones and loitering munitions. The interesting thing is that the Black Forest Brigade specializes in
05:00integrating ground-based radars, electronic reconnaissance systems, and long-endurance drones
05:05into a rapid detection and strike cycle focused on logistical targets and high-value air defense
05:11systems. So going after a pickup truck with machine guns indicates that it is finding fewer and fewer
05:17of those targets in its area of operation. In fact, the last high-end system it reported destroying
05:23was a Russian Book M3 surface-to-air missile system, the value of which was estimated at approximately
05:29$45 million, which was demilitarized on October 13th. We might be about to scrape the bottom of the
05:36barrel of Ivan's air defense systems. We'll find out in the coming weeks.
05:41On the strategic strike front, overnight from October 17th to 18th, Ukrainian long-range drones launched a
05:48large-scale attack on the city of St. Petersburg, which is Russia's second-largest city and the birthplace
05:54of Vladimir Putin. Russian authorities described the raid as the largest attack of its kind in the
06:01area since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Thick plumes of black smoke rose above the
06:07city's port and industrial districts. And the governor of St. Petersburg reported that the Horde's air
06:13defenses shot down 144 drones over the region. And he reported fires at the St. Petersburg oil terminal,
06:20which exports around 12.5 million tons of fuel, as well as at the Ruchi oil depot and in industrial
06:27warehouses in the Kolpinski district. The logistics and e-commerce company Ozone confirmed a fire at one
06:34of its largest logistics centers in the northwest, which covers an area of 79,000 square meters.
06:40The internet company VK, which is like the Russian Facebook, reported that one of its data centers in
06:46the Leningrad region was affected, but its services remained operational. Among other targets struck was
06:53the Bostoknaya electrical substation, which supplied power to the VK data center, causing outages that
07:00affected about 20,000 people. A major suspension bridge crossing the Korabelny fairway was also attacked.
07:08At least a dozen apartment buildings and private homes were damaged. Additionally, operations at Pulkovo
07:15airport were restricted, leading to delays and cancellations of scheduled flights.
07:20Now, regarding these attacks, if we analyze the targets hit, it seems clear to me that they are
07:26the Ukrainians' furious response to the diesel export deal between Trump's camp and Putin. First,
07:33they targeted the city's oil export terminal, which is in fact where the first ship carrying diesel to
07:38the United States departed from. They also targeted a major suspension bridge over the shipping channel
07:43that vessels entering the port must cross. If it collapses, the debris could block ships from
07:49accessing the port area. In addition, logistics centers and data centers were also targeted.
07:54This is Putin's hometown. And with this attack, I believe Ukraine isn't just destroying targets
08:00of military importance, but is also signaling that the fight will go on and that they won't surrender.
08:07Meanwhile, on the front line, the defenders receive a supply shipment which is always welcome since our
08:13logistics buddies always include something tasty with every delivery. Enjoy, guys!
