00:01To w roku Moniel de loto w Paris welcomed over 60 brandów,
00:06over 400 rady,
00:07a half-a-million rady,
00:10including many industry leaders.
00:13My absolute favourite is the headlight,
00:15where you see the hundreds of stars.
00:17That's the little detail that makes the car luxury.
00:20That's a great feature.
00:23You see, from the design,
00:25it's my favourite colour,
00:26matching for my suit.
00:30I trust in it, 100%.
00:34I really love this headlight unit.
00:36It spans the whole width of the front
00:38and incorporates all lighting functions.
00:40So that's my piece of love from that car.
00:48This is one of Europe's biggest car shows.
00:50And this year in Paris, one of the highlights
00:52has to be the presence of so many Chinese car brands,
00:56bringing their unique style and innovation to European roads.
01:00So we're here to meet them and find out more.
01:08One of the key trends from Chinese manufacturers
01:10is their expansion into new segments of the market.
01:14It's the case for BYD, the world's biggest electric car company,
01:18who chose Paris this year for the European launch
01:21of their premium brand, Denza.
01:22It means a lot because Paris is the capital for fashion,
01:27capital of the brand building for luxury brands.
01:31Then in Denza, it's important we're launching
01:33the Denza brand successfully here
01:36and blending the technology, luxury,
01:40into the art, culture, history.
01:44Another Chinese car maker aiming for upmarket buyers is Zika,
01:48designed in Sweden and part of the Geely Group.
01:51Some of their vehicles can charge their batteries
01:53from 10% to 80% in 10 and a half minutes,
01:57a technology they hope will attract customers.
02:00First of all, I have to say the consumer in Europe,
02:04they have changed over the last years.
02:06So almost everyone wants a car with advanced tech,
02:09so technology is getting very important.
02:11Second big point is, I think it's around 60% of the consumers
02:15want electrification.
02:18That has changed a lot and a big part of the consumers
02:21are looking really for craftsmanship, quality, premiumness.
02:25So we are entering with Zika now exactly to fulfill these customer requirements.
02:30This biennial show comes amid trade tensions between Europe and China,
02:35a new deal to limit the number of hybrid cars exported from China to the EU,
02:40and Chinese firms now making cars in European factories to sidestep tariffs.
02:44Not that trade policy is top of mind for the crowds in Paris,
02:49often they are here to find their next car.
03:13For many visitors here in Paris, this is their first chance to see these Chinese cars in the metal,
03:18to admire the bodywork, and to sit in the driver's seat,
03:21and that is an important moment for any brand.
03:25That's particularly true for newcomers like Aito,
03:28which will only begin selling vehicles in Europe from autumn next year.
03:32This five-year-old brand wants Europeans to embrace its vision
03:35of what a high-end car can be, and that includes autonomous driving.
03:40Our philosophy is intelligence redefining luxury.
03:44So we can consider that this car is the traditional luxury and the intelligence luxury.
03:51For example, from my home to the office, almost 22 kilometers,
03:57I just put my hand on the wheel, just sit, and bring me from home to the office.
04:06Establishing a place in the European market is a challenge for any carmaker.
04:10Chang'an is doing so by hiring local talent to work on its products and marketing,
04:15with its design center in Turin, Italy, and its sales and R&D base in Munich, Germany.
04:22We differentiate by design, and by value for money, and by quality.
04:28The offer is so large, and there are so many opportunities out there.
04:33So to get customers to your brand, you need to have it all,
04:37and in a very handsome, elegant shape.
04:41And that's what we also try to deliver and bring to the table.
04:48Well, that's all we have time for from the Mondial de l'Auto here in Paris.
04:52You can stay up to date with the latest innovations on Euronews.com.
