00:11The following contest is the 60-minute Iron Man match, and it is for the WWE Championship.
00:19Making his way to the ring, the challenger from Minneapolis,
00:22Minnesota, weighing in at 295 pounds, Brock Lesnar.
00:28For the first time in network television history, a 60-minute Iron Man match.
00:42And the rules of the matchup, pretty simple, Taz.
00:47This matchup will last 60 minutes, grueling, grueling 60 minutes, conditioning's a major
00:54part of this. And the superstar with the most falls at the end of the 60 minutes will become
00:59the WWE Champion. That's right. Fall score by pinfall submission, disqualification, or
01:04a count-out. And after each fall, there will be a 15-second designated rest period, which,
01:10well, isn't too long. Well, not long at all. It's nothing.
01:22And from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, weighing in at 240 pounds, is the WWE Champion, Kurt Angle!
01:43This is the third matchup in this illustrious series between Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar.
01:49Lesnar won at WrestleMania. Angle won at SummerSlam. This is the rubber match here tonight.
02:00Kurt Angle, no doubt about it, are very proud, are very, a great WWE Champion here on SmackDown.
02:10And a challenger right there, Brock Lesnar.
02:14He'll do just about anything, in my opinion, to take that title tonight in this Iron Man match
02:20from Kurt Angle. Only four other men in WWE history have competed in an Iron Man matchup.
02:27WrestleMania 12, 1996, Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart. And at Judgment Day in the year 2000,
02:35Triple H and The Rock. Tonight, Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar joined that elite group.
02:44And you're at Mr. McMahon earlier tonight, Taz.
02:47Two world-class athletes, hoping to raise the bar for their predecessors, challenge those
02:55who dare to follow them here tonight.
02:59Well, that's not going to be easy to do, but if any two athletes in the world can do it,
03:05in the WWE that can do it, be these two men, Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar.
03:11This series tied. A game apiece. The rubber match here tonight.
03:16This is big. This is big.
03:18And look at Brock Lesnar. A cheap shot by the animal Lesnar to start off this matchup against
03:24the champion, Kurt Angle.
03:26Some call it cheap, but you gotta call it effective, in my opinion.
03:31Brock Lesnar obsessed with winning the WWE Championship.
03:35Looking to gain the upper hand of this matchup. The clock is ticking down from 60 minutes.
03:41The superstar with the most falls at the end of one hour will become champion.
03:46And again, Taz, we talked about the rules. Pinfall, submission, countout, or disqualification.
03:51And, oh, is that power by the challenger, Brock Lesnar, driving that big shoulder into the stomach of Kurt Angle.
04:00Now that huge boot, which is an illegal, illegal maneuver in the throat of Kurt Angle.
04:06You know, Taz, we talked earlier on about your keys to victory for both of these men.
04:11But what about conditioning? What about stamina?
04:14Which one of these athletes in your mind has the, well, the key to victory in that department?
04:19I would think both these athletes are very evenly matched.
04:22Look at this big field coming.
04:24Wow.
04:25Both guys are evenly matched as far as conditioning.
04:27The challenger, Brock Lesnar, carrying more body weight.
04:31So as far as conditioning in the long run, you gotta give it to the champion, Kurt Angle.
04:34And Kurt Angle with the right hands, but quickly a knee to the midsection by Brock Lesnar.
04:39Youngest champion in WWE history, looking to regain the gold here tonight.
04:43Elbow from Kurt Angle.
04:44And the champion, Kurt Angle, falls it up with a close line.
04:47And the challenger's still on his feet.
04:49And another close line by Angle.
04:50Early in the matchup, Hulk for Angle would knock down Brock.
04:53Hey, look at that.
04:54Angle, the speed of the champion, taking out the legs of the big man.
04:58And again, Brock Lesnar goes down to the mat.
05:01And you saw him grasp his knee there.
05:04He's been better to Billy.
05:05Nice throw, nice suplex by Kurt Angle.
05:08And Brock Lesnar going to try to buy himself some time here.
05:14Kurt Angle getting the upper hand in the early going of this matchup.
05:17And perhaps Kurt Angle showing that he's going to try to outwrestle Lesnar in the early going.
05:23That's what I was saying about the mat game.
05:25Kurt is keeping on the mat.
05:27And Brock Lesnar, well, you know, not looking to get in there and I guess go one-on-one, Brock.
05:35Trying to take an easy way out here, Cole, on the outside.
05:38Well, he better get back in the ring because if you count it out, Kurt Angle will go up one
05:41fall to nothing in this Iron Man matchup.
05:44Brock Lesnar probably just regrouping.
05:47But Kurt Angle standing his ground right in the middle of the ring.
05:50Now Lesnar's in the ring also.
05:51Kurt Angle, Olympic gold medalist, 1996, won the Olympic gold medal with a broken neck.
05:57And now Brock Lesnar calling for time.
06:00Seems to, seems that knee may be bothering him there.
06:04And look at Brock Lesnar again playing possum.
06:09A cheap shot as he goes to work on the champion.
06:12Lesnar baited the champion in and used a sneak attack to take the upper hand of the matchup.
06:18I thought Brock Lesnar was able to go into this match in a pure athletic contest with Angle.
06:24Wow.
06:24Nice arm drag, but Brock taking some short cuts here.
06:27There's another one, Greg.
06:28There's a third, Andre.
06:29And again, Brock Lesnar out of the ring.
06:32And Kurt Angle has the upper hand.
06:36You talked about Brock Lesnar.
06:38You see the look of frustration on his face.
06:40You talked about you believing Brock was going to go into this matchup and strictly an athletic competitor.
06:46But perhaps Lesnar realized in SummerSlam he couldn't out-wrestle Kurt Angle.
06:51What the hell is Lesnar doing with the steel steps?
06:54He better be careful.
06:55He's not disqualified here.
06:57Yeah, that's a really good way to get disqualified, too.
07:02You never know what Lesnar's going to do.
07:05He's unpredictable.
07:05Breaking the count right there.
07:07Ryan Hefner was at nine.
07:09Brock Lesnar into the ring to break the count.
07:11And again, Brock Lesnar trying to buy himself some time here.
07:15But what's the strategy that the challenger's trying to employ?
07:19I don't know.
07:20I don't know.
07:21Lesnar's going to get himself counted out, as you pointed out.
07:23And that would be a fall in favor of the champion, Kurt Angle.
07:27But why doesn't Lesnar just get into the ring and wrestle Kurt Angle straight up, one-on-one, early going
07:32to this matchup?
07:33Can't quite figure out the strategy of the challenger, Brock Lesnar.
07:40Kurt Angle wants Lesnar in the ring.
07:42Kurt's frustrated.
07:43Kurt's being patient, standing his ground in there.
07:47People here in the block crowd are not behind Brock Lesnar.
07:52That's no shock.
07:53I don't blame him.
07:54I was looking forward to 60 minutes of straight up wrestling here.
07:57And Brock Lesnar is stalling, buying himself some time in the early going.
08:02Well, you don't know, Carl.
08:03You know, don't be so hard on Brock.
08:04I mean, Brock, maybe this is a strategy, Allison, to frustrate the champion.
08:10And I've got to say, maybe it's starting to work here.
08:12Well, Kurt Angle sitting back, waiting for Lesnar to come back into the ring.
08:16Fifty-five minutes and counting here in this Iron Man matchup.
08:21Neither superstar with a fall yet.
08:23Most falls in an hour wins the title.
08:27And Lesnar and Angle once again staring at each other's center of the ring.
08:32Well, Brock's hit that crazed look, but you don't know what Brock's up to here.
08:35Both men eyeing each other up and down here.
08:38Kurt Angle, the champion.
08:40There's that low single right there going for a single leg.
08:44And again, Brock Lesnar ducks out of this matchup.
08:51Oh, Brock.
08:53Brock nervous that Kurt was gonna shoot that single leg, take him down,
08:57and lock on that ankle lock, Brock got himself out of the ring here.
09:03And again, I have to go back to SummerSlam, and perhaps Kurt Angle may have
09:07installed into the head of Brock Lesnar that he can outwrestle the animal, Lesnar.
09:11But look at this, Brock Lesnar baited Angle in, and Brock Lesnar taking control.
09:17And again, a shot to the midsection, and here comes the challenger.
09:21Brock Lesnar, like it or not, picked his spot.
09:25He's illegally choking and springing Kurt Angle's throat off that top rope.
09:31Now again, back to the illegal tactics standing on the champion's throat there.
09:37Lesnar driving that boot into the throat, and a straight shot to the side of the head
09:41of Kurt Angle.
09:42And there the confidence begins to build with that wide grin on the face of Brock Lesnar.
09:46But Kurt Angle with a belly-to-belly, and the champion looking to gain momentum here,
09:51and again, knocking the challenger over the top rope.
09:54And Brock Lesnar grabs that injured knee yet again.
10:01Lesnar writhing in pain.
10:02I'd like to get a replay there or something to see what he did to that knee,
10:05if he tweaked it or hit the barricade, or what he did.
10:07But nonetheless, Lesnar could get counted out here.
10:10And that's why Kurt Angle's not going out after Brock Lesnar,
10:13because Brock can get counted out, and that would count for a fall for Kurt Angle.
10:18But actually, here comes Kurt.
10:19Wait a minute, Kurt Angle now, stalking Brock Lesnar, the champion with a right hand.
10:24What is Angle's strategy here?
10:26I'm not quite sure.
10:27I thought that Kurt will try and get a count out.
10:29But obviously, Kurt Angle just wanted to inflict pain while Brock's down.
10:35Perhaps the champion just wanting to continue to inflict punishment on that injured knee.
10:39And now the head bouncing off the steel steps, the champion back into the ring.
10:43But again, Kurt Angle breaks up the count.
10:47Well, obviously, it's pretty obvious that Kurt is trying to hurt, to injure Brock Lesnar.
10:53And that's what you need to do.
10:54I don't think Kurt Angle's gonna forget that sneak attack that Brock Lesnar put on
10:58Angle and Undertaker a couple of weeks ago.
11:00But Brock Lesnar now, the challenger, driving the slaw, the back into the apron.
11:05Perhaps Brock Lesnar gonna take advantage of what may have been a miscalculation by the champion.
11:10Kurt's in trouble, Kurt, into the steel post, spine first goes Angle.
11:15The champion is in a lot of trouble.
11:18Brock Lesnar just broke the count up.
11:21That knee looks like it's bothering Lesnar.
11:25But Lesnar's obsessed with winning the championship.
11:28He'll do anything to get that gold around his waist.
11:30We've seen the actions of this animal in recent weeks.
11:33You wanna get counted out, Brock Lesnar, you gotta get back in that ring.
11:38Brock Lesnar, what the hell's he doing with a steel chair?
11:43Brock Lesnar with a steel chair in hand.
11:46The hell is Lesnar gonna get disqualified?
11:48Hand-off!
11:49On the skull of Kurt Angle, Lesnar's been disqualified.
11:53And now a vicious assault with that chair on the champion.
11:56The winner of this fall by a disqualification, Kurt Angle.
12:01This is supposed to be an athletic competition.
12:03What the hell did, wait, where do steel chairs come into this thing?
12:07What, Brock Lesnar just gave up a fall?
12:10The hell is Lesnar doing here?
12:12This is for the WWE title, an Iron Man matchup.
12:16This isn't a public mauling.
12:21A 15-second rest period is underway.
12:24Brock Lesnar just got himself disqualified.
12:28And Kurt Angle's up one fall but nothing.
12:31What the hell is Lesnar doing?
12:34I'm shocked that Brock, why?
12:38Why would you blatantly get disqualified?
12:41You talked about Lesnar channeling his rage as a key to victory.
12:46I don't think he channeled his rage too well there.
12:48Sure as hell, eh?
12:52Kurt Angle has been filled by those steel chair shots.
12:56And now Lesnar trash-talking, humiliating the champion.
13:03Brock's feeling real cocky here now.
13:07I don't think Angle's quite regained his bearings yet from those shots with that chair.
13:11I don't know where the hell he's at.
13:15A crack in the head with a steel chair by this animal.
13:19Angle's up one fall to nothing.
13:21And look at Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle up on his shoulders.
13:25Oh no, this is big.
13:27F5 connects for Lesnar.
13:30The champion is down.
13:33The champion may be out.
13:35The cover, hook of the leg.
13:39Lesnar ties it in a fall apiece.
13:42The winner of this fall by pin, Brock Lesnar.
13:46I get it now, Cole.
13:48I get it now.
13:49You get what?
13:51The blatant disqualification with the chair?
13:54That was the weakened Kurt Angle.
13:56That had to be, had to be Lesnar's strategy to keep Kurt down so he could get a fall on
14:03him.
14:04Indra, nail out F5 and get the jump on him in this match.
14:07Well, here is the steel chair that did the damage.
14:10Lesnar disqualified to fall a fall down.
14:14But then the F5 by Lesnar ties things up.
14:18So you're saying Lesnar used the chair, intentionally got himself disqualified
14:22so he could gain the upper hand and gain a quick fall on Kurt Angle.
14:26And to weaken Angle for the rest of this match, I'm thinking, in my opinion,
14:31I'm thinking that was Brock and that is Brock's game plan.
14:35Well, what kind of game plan is that?
14:37You've got an Olympic gold medalist in Kurt Angle.
14:41You've got a national champion in Brock Lesnar.
14:44Two tremendous mat wrestlers in this great competition, a 60-minute Iron Man matchup.
14:50And Brock Lesnar has to gain the upper hand with the use of a steel chair.
14:54Hey, Cole, like I said earlier, ain't nobody gonna be thinking that Brock's gonna fight fair.
15:00Brock don't fight fair.
15:02Brock fights to win.
15:04I'll tell you, I'm shocked at the strategy.
15:08But that's Lesnar, he's unpredictable.
15:11We've come to expect that out of Brock Lesnar.
15:13Yep.
15:15You saw what Brock Lesnar's done to Spanky and Zach Gowen, The Undertaker, Kurt Angle,
15:20even Stephanie in recent weeks.
15:21And look at this.
15:22Kurt Angle's signature move, the ankle lock.
15:26And Brock is locked in and Kurt Angle comes from the top to his own hold.
15:29The winner of this fall by submission, Brock Lesnar.
15:35Less than 48 minutes to go.
15:38Two to one, Brock Lesnar has taken control of the Iron Man match.
15:45The champion Kurt Angle trying to battle back down two falls to one in this Iron Man matchup.
15:51Kurt Angle, and look at the shot to the gut by Lesnar to Kurt Angle.
15:54During the break, Brock Lesnar up two falls to one,
15:57tried to make it three to one using another one of Kurt Angle's moves, the Angle Slam.
16:02And right there, nailing it, Lesnar nailing the Angle Slam.
16:07But again, Taz, this valiant, this courageous champion, Kurt Angle, refusing to die.
16:13Kurt Angle's got the heart of a damn lion.
16:18Kurt Angle ain't gonna go down easy.
16:20That's for damn sure.
16:22Kurt didn't win that gold medal for nothing, Cole.
16:24But again, the challenger, Brock Lesnar's in control.
16:26Up two falls to one in this 60-minute Iron Man matchup.
16:29Most falls in an hour gains that superstar of the WWE Championship.
16:34And remember, Kurt Angle severely weakened.
16:37Moments ago, Brock Lesnar using a steel chair.
16:41He gave up a fall, but he weakened the champion, did Lesnar.
16:45Yeah, we jumped all over Brock.
16:47We thought that was a bad strategy.
16:49It was a small strategy, I guess.
16:51Listen, right now Brock Lesnar head-butting Kurt Angle.
16:54You gotta figure maybe Kurt might have a slight concussion of sorts.
16:57They have to be in attack with that chair by Lesnar.
17:01And there's this matchup boots right to the face of Kurt Angle.
17:04You know, we were talking earlier on today about this Iron Man matchup.
17:08And you compared it to like running a marathon.
17:11Yeah, it's like running a marathon, except running a marathon while there's a battle roll going on.
17:15And you're right in the middle of it.
17:16Get the crap kicked out of you.
17:18Look at Angle whipped into the corner.
17:19Nobody hold.
17:21There's the quickness of the champion.
17:23One of your keys to victory, Angle's quickness.
17:25Kurt Angle's one of the fastest WWE Champions in the history here.
17:29And the right hands by Kurt Angle.
17:32Angle trails two falls to one, trying to battle back into this matchup.
17:36Brock Lesnar the challenger, whipping Angle into the ropes, misses with a wild right hand.
17:40And Kurt Angle locks Lesnar down.
17:42Yeah, flying forearm by Kurt Angle.
17:44Over a German.
17:46And he connects.
17:47And he wrists, the arms, the hands still locked around the waist.
17:50Lesnar trying to block it, using the ropes, but couldn't do it.
17:53Well, we know Kurt's grip, but how strong is Kurt?
17:56Very powerful by Kurt Angle there.
17:58Once again, Lesnar trying to use the ropes, and a third German, this one released.
18:04Brock's hurt now.
18:06Keep in mind, only a handful of people have ever been in 60-minute matches.
18:11This is the longest matchup either one of these athletes has ever been in,
18:15both professionally and at the amateur ranks.
18:18And look at Brock Lesnar, again tossing the champion through the second ropes.
18:23Another cheap shot, Brock will do anything to get the advantage.
18:29Brock ain't playing, Brock ain't playing to get their friends, that's for sure.
18:35Brock is obsessed with winning the WWE Championship.
18:39Brock Lesnar is showing in the early going, he will stop at nothing to get the gold back.
18:44Outside the ring now, Angle whipped into the barricade.
18:48A lot of force driven there, gotta watch that count out rule here, Cole Cole, gotta watch.
18:54Cole Cole, what the hell, change the name?
18:56Referee Brian Heppner, counting the inside the ring, Lesnar will break up the count out now.
19:03Brian Heppner's got his hands full in this matchup, and Kurt Angle the champion,
19:07with a kick to the gut, and here comes Angle.
19:10Yeah, Brock fighting back, fighting hard, but there you go, Brock shutting down, just put an F5.
19:17And look at this, an F5 outside the ring, and make no mistake about it,
19:22that is very little padding out there.
19:26Kurt Angle is down, Kurt is hurt, Brock trying to get up here.
19:32Brock Lesnar trying to crawl his way back into the ring.
19:36The three's up to seven, that's the count out.
19:38Now get up now.
19:39Lesnar, back into the ring, Kurt Angle's in trouble, Kurt Angle has been counted out.
19:46The winner of this fall by count out, Brock Lesnar.
19:51Tell you what, Kurt Angle is behind the eight ball in a big way.
19:56Look at this, F5 outside the ring.
19:59Kurt Angle is down three falls to one.
20:02Can one of the most courageous champions in history come back from a two-fold deficit?
20:10Back on SmackDown, the champion Kurt Angle down three falls to one, but
20:13showing signs of life, this is how Angle got the advantage during the break task.
20:18That Kurt Angle popping off, not one, but two catch-pulls.
20:23Belly-belly suplexes on the challenge of Brock Lesnar.
20:27Straight out, great pop of the hip by Kurt Angle on those suplexes.
20:32Reverse of Kurt Angle.
20:33Oh, and what a shoulder knockdown by Lesnar.
20:36That's the size difference, that very thick body, the powerful body of that animalistic Brock Lesnar
20:42with that back elbow.
20:44And Taz, we gotta still discuss the fact, we take another look at this powerful back elbow by Lesnar.
20:51We've gotta still talk about what happened earlier on in this matchup.
20:55Kurt Angle may still be feeling the ill effects of that cheap shot with a steel chair by Brock Lesnar.
21:01I think that's a safe assessment right there, Brock.
21:05Third angle in La La Land after that chair shot to the head.
21:09Come on, let's go, one, two, three, four.
21:10And Brock Lesnar over the opportunity.
21:13Come on, stop talking about that.
21:14Topping all over the opportunity.
21:16You see the clock ticking down, 35 minutes and counting.
21:20Lesnar up three falls to one, 60-minute Iron Man matchup for the WWE Championship.
21:25And Lesnar continues to drive his 295-pound frame into the champion.
21:31Cover, hook to the leg.
21:33Kurt Angle just gets the shoulder up.
21:35Every time Angle has to kick out, he's inserting more and more energy
21:39to save himself from another fall.
21:42Kurt Angle showing great heart and discipline and an intestinal fortitude in this matchup.
21:47And Lesnar with the right hand.
21:50Angle, Angle, Angle, Angle, Angle, Angle.
21:55Brock Lesnar, the man who shoved a one-legged human being.
22:01Zach Gowen with a broken leg down a set of stairs.
22:04But look at that, Kurt Angle, Angle slammed.
22:07Can Angle take advantage?
22:09Kurt got all of that.
22:09Puts the leg, cover, got him.
22:15The winner of this fall by pin, Kurt Angle.
22:19Angle's got it to three to two.
22:21Yeah, Kurt getting a little bit closer now.
22:24Brock Lesnar got nailed hard with that Angle slam.
22:27Now Kurt needs to try and capitalize on this while he's got Brock Lesnar down.
22:31And I've just been handing a note, Taz, in the unlikely event of a tie in this matchup,
22:36we've been granted permission by UPN to go to overtime here tonight.
22:41That's big, that's big.
22:43Good news right there.
22:4415-second rest period's over.
22:45And again, the champion Kurt Angle wasting little time going on the advantage of Brock Lesnar.
22:50And Angle realizes he has to seize the opportunity when the opening's there against this animal.
22:56Now Kurt's starting to look like himself here.
22:58Maybe he's starting to kick off the effects of that chair hit early in the match.
23:02And his vicious attack by Lesnar, Kurt Angle, all over the challenger.
23:07Look at this, Kurt Angle, great suplex to Brock Lesnar.
23:10Floats into the cover, hooks the leg.
23:12Lesnar's down and got the shoulder up.
23:14I'll tell you one thing, Kurt Angle, who in my mind is one of the greatest champions
23:18in the history of the WWE, down three falls to two,
23:22but beginning to stir a little bit here with about 30 minutes left.
23:28Well, Brock Lesnar trying to get a timeout.
23:30And there's no timeouts in this game, and Lesnar, I'm sure, he knows that.
23:35Well, Lesnar trying to beg off, but Kurt Angle not gonna let Lesnar rest.
23:39Angle will bring the fight to Lesnar.
23:42The fighting champion, Kurt Angle, with a right hand to Lesnar.
23:46And this is what we talked about earlier on, the heart, the courage of Kurt Angle.
23:51And look at Lesnar, knee to the midsection.
23:54And the challenger tries to battle back.
23:56That's the size that Lesnar's got, that thickness and size.
23:59Suplex!
24:03Nice German suplex applied by Kurt Angle.
24:08Here we go, snaps it down.
24:10And you know what that means?
24:11Could be another Angle Slam.
24:13Kurt Angle's primed and ready to tie this match up at three falls apiece.
24:17Here we go.
24:18Angle Slam time.
24:19Lesnar counters, shot to the midsection.
24:22Uh-oh, that's what I'm saying, count up from the Angle Slam to the ankle lock.
24:26And look at it, Great Lake Sweep, and Kurt Angle into the ankle lock.
24:30Lesnar's in the ankle lock.
24:31Lesnar's in trouble.
24:33Lesnar's in trouble here.
24:35Lesnar tapped into this at Summer Slam.
24:37Will Lesnar tap tonight?
24:39If he does, it'll be three to three.
24:42And look at this, Kurt Angle almost ran into the referee.
24:45And Brock Lesnar just laid out Brian Hebner.
24:48The referee's been laid out.
24:50Laid out, knocked out, then it's a doorknob.
24:54Hebner is.
24:54Angle Slam, Kurt Angle into the cover, hooks the leg, referee's down.
25:01Kurt Angle should have tied this match up at three apiece right there.
25:06And take another look, did Lesnar intentionally knock out the ref here?
25:11What do you think?
25:11I don't know, we'll see this, take a look at this.
25:15I mean, Brock could have maybe slowed down.
25:18And look at the blade, low blow by the challenger.
25:21Well, that was definitely intentional.
25:23The Angle Slam and the cover should have tied this at three.
25:26The low blow should have been a disqualification.
25:29Kurt Angle should be up four falls to three here, yet he's still down to fall.
25:36The referee is down from that close line by Lesnar.
25:41Brock getting out of the ring here, man.
25:44That looks like what Brock's doing here, Cole.
25:46And the referee's out, Angle's out after the low blow.
25:51Tell you what, Brock's circling around this area, you gotta be careful here.
25:55And look at this.
25:57And that's uncalled for.
26:00Brock right now is just Brock Lesnar with the title in hand.
26:06Brock Lesnar a bit overbearing there, acting like a bully to the ring crew.
26:11And now with that title in his hand, the skull of Kurt Angle.
26:15Now the true colors of Brock Lesnar are coming out in this crucial point of the matchup.
26:21Kurt Angle has got to be knocked out cold.
26:25Lesnar in complete control.
26:28And now Brock Lesnar going to the referee, disrespecting Bryan Hebner,
26:34tossing him across the ring to count the one, two, three here.
26:38Should be another fall here.
26:40There's one, there's two.
26:43But it's a damn shame that Brock Lesnar's now up four to two.
26:47The winner of this fall by pin, Brock Lesnar.
26:51Let's take a look at that shot to the head, shot to the head with the WWE title in hand.
26:57Look at this.
26:57Brock Lesnar, referee never saw it, he's been knocked down.
27:01Lesnar's up four falls to two, less than 30 minutes to go for the WWE title.
27:09We are back on SmackDown.
27:11Things do not look good for the champion, Taz, down four falls to two, 25 minutes left.
27:16And here comes Angle.
27:21Kurt Angle the champion, right hand to Brock Lesnar.
27:23And Kurt Angle trying to take it to Lesnar here.
27:26Lesnar into the steel step, shoulder first.
27:31A lot of impact right there.
27:33That 295 pound body and hitting them steps.
27:37And Kurt Angle rolling back the ring, avoiding that count out.
27:40Not only avoiding the count out, but buying him some time to catch his breath here.
27:45Kurt Angle's undergone a tremendous amount of punishment, but what's Angle doing?
27:50I don't know what Kurt's doing, this is not Angle, what the hell is Kurt Angle doing?
27:53What the hell is Kurt Angle doing?
27:55Axe handle to the back of the neck of Lesnar, high risk maneuver for the champion.
28:00But perhaps Kurt Angle realizes with time ticking down under 27 minutes left,
28:04Angle needs to make a move now.
28:06Kurt Angle pulling out something out of his playbook I've never seen Kurt do.
28:10Kurt Angle pulling out all the stops, here's the cover, hooking the leg on Lesnar.
28:14And Lesnar just gets the shoulder up.
28:19Take another look at what you say you've never seen Kurt Angle do before.
28:23And Kurt Angle with that big double ax here.
28:25Now Kurt going back to the top rope here, this is usually not Kurt's arsenal, man.
28:31Kurt's pulling out some different stuff.
28:33Look at this, missile truck kick to the chin.
28:36Angle, man.
28:37Angle crawls into the cover, hooking the leg again, shoulders down.
28:40There's two, and Lesnar kicked out again.
28:43Kurt doing everything he could to pin Brock, hooking him, realizing that Brock's dead of ropes,
28:48holding his arm away from the ropes.
28:50But Lesnar still have enough presence of mind to kick out of that.
28:55Desperation or a sense of urgency for Angle.
29:01Kurt realizes this is the opportunity now, trying to get some falls over the challenger.
29:06Kurt Angle, top rope, wait for the moonsault, as you pulled out of the way.
29:09And perhaps Kurt Angle went to the well once too often there.
29:13Well, the pass, Angle has done that moonsault.
29:16And right there, crashed and burned.
29:19Kurt Angle, flat, right in the middle of the ring.
29:23No Angle, no Lesnar on the bottom.
29:25Could that miss cost Kurt Angle the WWE title?
29:29Take another look.
29:30Look at this impact.
29:32The problem here is, Des, is Angle had all the momentum going his way.
29:36He misses with a moonsault.
29:38Perhaps Lesnar's down in the driver's seat.
29:41Well, once Brock realizes that Kurt's still down for that moonsault,
29:46trust me, Brock Lesnar, like a shark that smells blood in water, will go for the kill.
29:52Both men on their feet.
29:53Lesnar misses right in it.
29:54School boy, may have it.
29:55And Lesnar kicked down Angle, almost picked up a quick one.
29:58And what a clothesline by Lesnar.
30:00Talk about speed, not for nothing.
30:02Brock Lesnar, quick as a damn big cat.
30:06Quick as hell, Lesnar.
30:08What a clothesline leveling Kurt Angle.
30:11And what a matchup this has been.
30:13Brock Lesnar's used steel chairs.
30:16He's used the championship title to gain the upper hand in this matchup.
30:20But the Valiant champion Kurt Angle holding on, and what a throw by Lesnar.
30:24And now you're beginning to feel a momentum shift again.
30:27Yeah, Brock Lesnar with that big belly-to-belly weight.
30:30He doesn't even launch back.
30:32Power, power of Lesnar.
30:34Into the cover again.
30:35Hook of the leg.
30:35Angle's in trouble.
30:36And just gets the shoulder up.
30:39Angle in danger of falling down.
30:42Five falls to two there.
30:44Kurt barely kicking out of that big belly-to-belly suplex in that cover.
30:50Both men down center of the ring yet again.
30:53Crucial point of the matchup.
30:55First man to his feet could gain the upper hand.
30:57It needs to be Angle.
30:59This is the conditioning part we were talking about earlier in this matchup.
31:02And look at Angle.
31:03What a counter.
31:04Angle Lock locked in again.
31:07This is incredible.
31:09Angle Lock locked in for a second time.
31:12Look at Brock Lesnar with another counter, but again went to the injured knee.
31:18Brock, Brock again getting out of that ankle lock.
31:23What do you want?
31:25Brock Lesnar had Kurt Angle scouted.
31:27Why coming up?
31:29Brock did his homework here.
31:30And Kurt Angle's gotta get back into the ring off this counter.
31:33If Angle's counted out, he's in deep trouble.
31:38Brock's hurt me, though.
31:39He's hanging onto that ankle, that left ankle.
31:42He imagined Lesnar like a shark again on the attack of Kurt Angle.
31:46And the champion driven in the steel steps.
31:49Back to those steps.
31:51Lesnar using everything outside this ring as a weapon to gain the advantage on the champion.
31:56And this vicious, this violent, this aggressive challenger tossing the champion back into the ring.
32:03Crawling toward a possible cover.
32:05Hook of the leg.
32:06Champion shoulders down and Angle kicked out again.
32:09And now the frustration builds on the face of Lesnar.
32:1320 minutes to go.
32:14Lesnar up two falls.
32:17Brock Lesnar starting to get frustrated, which could be a bad thing for Kurt Angle.
32:22Because the viciousness really comes out of Lesnar when he gets angry.
32:27And now what's Lesnar doing?
32:30Lesnar with the steel steps in hand here.
32:34There's no room in this Iron Man match for Lesnar with steel stairs.
32:39Don't wanna just get this qualified here, Brock.
32:41And look at Kurt Angle with this.
32:43And the step bouncing on the skull of Lesnar.
32:46And it may have crossed the challenger.
32:48Great speed and honked the sprain right there by Kurt Angle.
32:52Brock Lesnar corked down steps right in the face.
32:56And now Kurt Angle, the champion, looks to take advantage of the matchup.
32:59Quickly, Lesnar tossed back to the ring.
33:01Kurt Angle quickly into the cover.
33:03Hooks the leg.
33:04Shoulders down.
33:04Lesnar pops out.
33:06Hooking the leg again.
33:08And again, Lesnar gets the shoulder up.
33:09Kurt Angle relentless realizing he had an opportunity to get a fall right there.
33:13The aggressive Kurt Angle trying to capitalize on like that.
33:18Drop hit with those steps in the face.
33:21And he kicked out of it.
33:23The guys like Zach Gowen, guys like Spanky are sitting at home watching this matchup.
33:28Rooting for Kurt Angle after all Brock Lesnar's done to them.
33:31I'm sure.
33:34And Kurt Angle with shots to the midsection.
33:36And now Kurt Angle showing a bit of a vicious streak here.
33:3918 and a half left, Lesnar up four falls to two.
33:44Well time is definitely ticking away for Kurt Angle.
33:47Kurt Angle behind the ball here.
33:50Ladies and gentlemen, we have to take our final commercial break.
33:54Cover, Lesnar just got the shoulder up.
33:58Ladies and gentlemen, your scoreboard is not wrong.
34:01Brock Lesnar is up five falls to two during the break.
34:05This is what happened.
34:05And right here, a humongous super press from the top there.
34:10Kurt Angle landing so hard.
34:13And Brock Lesnar topping Kurt Angle, getting another fall over the champion.
34:20Again, this is the 60-minute WWE Iron Man match for the WWE Championship.
34:27Brock Lesnar the challenger up five falls to two, 14 minutes to go.
34:31Most falls in 60 minutes wins the title.
34:35And Lesnar Taz is in the driver's seat.
34:38Yeah, that's not a good thing for Kurt Angle.
34:42And look at Brock Lesnar again on the assault.
34:45Remember how Lesnar got in the driver's seat tonight.
34:47Steel chair championship to the skull.
34:50And now Angle's skull bouncing off the announce table.
34:54Kurt Angle doesn't look good right here.
34:56And if Brock don't look much better, both these men are hurting right now.
35:00Well, grueling match up, but now Lesnar so long.
35:05No, my God.
35:06Dirty tactics at F5 with an F pole.
35:08He's seen this.
35:09Kurt Angle with Lesnar.
35:10And Lesnar skull first off the steel post.
35:12And look at this.
35:14Angle, F5?
35:16The hell?
35:17Brock Lesnar's in trouble.
35:18Kurt Angle, F5.
35:20Lesnar's the off the steel post.
35:23Lesnar did that to Angle months ago.
35:26Lesnar did that to Spanky and Zach Gowen.
35:29Some of his own medicine here tonight.
35:31And Kurt again breaking the count.
35:34Kurt Angle's got his head together here.
35:37Brock's still holding that right knee now.
35:40Between the left ankle and the right knee.
35:44He's got no legs, man.
35:45The table's got no legs.
35:47And now this mean streak from the champion as Kurt Angle looks to take advantage.
35:52Brock's hurt, Cole.
35:53Brock's hurt.
35:54I'm telling you, Brock is hurt.
35:56That knee is hurting him.
35:58Everything's hurting Brock there.
36:00And check out Kurt Angle.
36:02Single leg Boston Crab tucking that knee.
36:04Will Lesnar tap out?
36:05Kurt Angle needs a tap out here.
36:09That force, that single leg Boston Crab is stitched in.
36:13Angle's sitting down on him.
36:15Will Brock tap out?
36:17Lesnar's up five balls to two.
36:19Angle needs a tap out here.
36:21Lesnar crawling, pulling Angle across the ring.
36:25Trying to make it to the bottom rope.
36:27And time is ticking away from the champion.
36:29And Brock needs to get to that rope.
36:31And Lesnar gets to the rope.
36:32But Kurt Angle with the ankle lock locked in.
36:35Kurt stitching it back in.
36:37Pulling Brock back to the middle.
36:40It's the third time this match Brock had this ankle.
36:43Ankle lock applied on his ankle by Angle.
36:46And Lesnar trying to make it to the bottom rope.
36:48Lesnar does.
36:49But Kurt Angle keeps the ankle lock locked in.
36:51Angle's gotta be careful.
36:52Is that disqualified?
36:53The hold is broken.
36:55But the damage may be done.
36:57And now the champion looks to continue to weaken the knee
37:00in the ankle of Brock Lesnar.
37:03Kurt Angle's game plan is to take the base out
37:06of the big animal, the big monster Brock Lesnar.
37:10The knee, the ankle, and the relentless attack.
37:13Uh-oh.
37:14But Kurt Angle grabs a bit overzealous.
37:16And F5 connects.
37:18On one knee, Brock Lesnar delivered the F5.
37:21But can Lesnar take advantage?
37:24If he does, the champion will be down six falls to two.
37:28That's a good point.
37:30Can Brock capitalize on that big F5 on Kurt Angle?
37:35Lesnar didn't know where he was.
37:36Into the cover.
37:37Hook of the leg.
37:38Champion shoulders down.
37:39There's two.
37:40And Angle kicked out.
37:44You've gotta give it up for the heart of the champion, Kurt Angle.
37:50And not for nothing, Cole.
37:51In my opinion, what about the challenger?
37:53Brock Lesnar, like this man or not, he's busted his ass in there.
37:57But Kurt Angle, just so much heart and guts to stick it out with Lesnar after the attack
38:04in the beginning of the match with the steel chair.
38:06And Brock Lesnar out to the apron.
38:09You saw that look on Brock Lesnar's face.
38:12We've seen that look before.
38:13The look into the sadistic eyes of the challenger Lesnar.
38:17And I think Lesnar believes, Taz, he's got the champion on the ropes.
38:21If Lesnar goes up six falls to two, this one could well be over.
38:25But where's the challenger going?
38:27This is shades of WrestleMania when Lesnar crashed the bird.
38:30Here comes Angle!
38:31Wow!
38:34Belly to belly!
38:35Off the top rope, cover, hook to the leg!
38:37Got it!
38:38Angle got him!
38:41Going up this fall by pin, Kurt Angle!
38:46Brock Lesnar, his lead trimmed to five to three.
38:509.40 and counting left in the 60-minute Iron Man matchup.
38:56Most falls in an hour, wins the WWE title.
39:00The 15-second rest period's over.
39:03Yeah, the very short 15-second rest period.
39:06And now referee Brian Hebner counting the first man to stand up.
39:11If it was a count-out, would get a fall here.
39:16Both men are spent, Taz.
39:18This is the fourth quarter for both the champion and the challenger.
39:22This is where stamina will come into play.
39:25Both of these athletes superbly conditioned, but who will dig deep down inside?
39:31Well, Hebner's up to seven here.
39:34Brock's got to just play good defense here.
39:37He's still ahead by two falls.
39:39Under nine minutes to go.
39:40The champion, Kurt Angle, with the right hand.
39:42What an epic battle did we ever deliver?
39:45Did these two athletes ever deliver on the season premiere of SmackDown here tonight?
39:50No doubt, punch for punch.
39:52Champion and challenger throwing down punch for punch.
39:56Good old-fashioned fight right now.
39:58Kurt Angle with the right hands to the vicious
40:00Lesnar.
40:01Angle backing Lesnar up into the corner.
40:03The champion beginning to build some momentum,
40:06but is there enough time for Angle to climb back into this thing?
40:10If anybody could do it, it would be Kurt Angle
40:14that the oldest man's accomplished in his life and his career.
40:18Well, he's got a tall mountain to get on top of, and that mountainous Brock Lesnar.
40:23The USA champs from the crowd.
40:25Brock Lesnar has built the five fall to three lead,
40:29mainly based on some shady tactics.
40:32Nice suplex by Kurt Angle.
40:34Shady tactics or not, I personally think, and I like the strategy that Lesnar was using
40:39throughout this match.
40:40I thought it was a good strategy.
40:42A little low-ended, but good.
40:44But Angle is getting all fired up, Taz.
40:47Straps it down by Kurt Angle.
40:49Well, Kurt Angle realizing the clock is ticking down.
40:52Perhaps only seven minutes and 40 seconds left in his title reign.
40:56Angle slam him.
40:57And Brock Lesnar shoving the champion back into the rope.
41:00And a DDT by the challenger.
41:02Kurt Angle landed right on his head.
41:04And Lesnar quickly into the cover.
41:06Looks to hook the leg.
41:08He does.
41:08One, two, one.
41:08Shoulders down.
41:09There's two.
41:10Kurt Angle again, perhaps on pure instinct.
41:14Cut.
41:14He kicks out.
41:15That would have been six to three, Cole.
41:18With under seven minutes here to go.
41:21That would have been bad for Angle.
41:23Real bad.
41:23Well, things aren't looking great for the champion now.
41:26And it's five falls to three.
41:28And now the challenger on his feet.
41:30The challenger, Lesnar, beginning to feel it.
41:34Brock Storky, Kurt.
41:36Kurt throwing a big right hand.
41:37Another right hand.
41:39Here's another.
41:41Kurt bringing those fists up.
41:43But the challenger delivering the German suplex to Kurt Angle.
41:47And Lesnar again buys himself some time.
41:50And Taz, each time a suplex is delivered by Lesnar,
41:5310, 20, 30 seconds ticks off.
41:56And that is not in favor of the champion Kurt Angle.
41:59Well, Brock Lesnar does not have to get a pin, a submission,
42:03a count out, disqualification.
42:05Brock doesn't need another fall.
42:07Brock needs to just hurt Angle more and stay on defense.
42:11That's what Brock needs to do.
42:13And I'm sure Brock is, that's what he's trying to do.
42:15Brock Lesnar gained the upper hand in the beginning part of this matchup.
42:19With a shot with a steel chair.
42:21He followed it up later on with a shot with a championship to the skull of Angle.
42:26And since that point in time, the challenger has held the lead in this Iron Man matchup.
42:34What a battle, what a battle, man.
42:38Under six minutes to go.
42:40Lesnar five, Angle three, most falls in an hour, wins the WWE title.
42:47Kurt Angle in the grasp right now of Brock Lesnar.
42:52Another German suplex block, standing switch.
42:56German, wow, the champion so quick.
43:00And in a blink of an eye, Angle has regained an advantage here.
43:05But is there enough time, Taz, for Angle to wear down Lesnar?
43:10Another German suplex possibly.
43:13How many more suplexes can these bodies take?
43:18Both men, both great athletes, world class athletes, as the boss put it at the top of the show.
43:24Leaving it all in the ring.
43:28These athletes have got to be thoroughly exhausted.
43:32No other way to put it.
43:34Blocked by Lesnar.
43:35Outstanding switch by Lesnar there.
43:36Kurt Angle, roll through, look at this.
43:39Angle, Angle, Angle.
43:41Angle lock locked in.
43:42Will Lesnar tap out?
43:43If Lesnar does, Angle will cut it to one fall.
43:48On the five minutes left, Brock, the fourth time in the match, he's caught the ankle lock.
43:54And Lesnar's in no man's land, four and a half to go.
43:58Will Brock Lesnar tap out?
43:59The ankle lock, tuck in the ankle.
44:02Can Brock's ankle take any more of his ankle locks?
44:05Lesnar, Lesnar's in a lot of pain, and Angle relentless with that ankle lock.
44:11The intensity in the eyes of the champion, trying to break the ankle, get Lesnar to submit.
44:16Lesnar made the ropes, Angle pulled him back to the center of the ring again.
44:20And Lesnar taps out, Angle has cut it to five falls to four.
44:26Submission, Kurt Angle.
44:32And keep in mind, we have permission from UPN to send this match into overtime if we're
44:42tied at the end of 60 minutes, and we could very well be heading that way.
44:49Brock Lesnar hanging on to that ankle, that left ankle.
44:55Brock's in pain, Brock's hurting.
44:57Yeah, Brock's hurting, but can Kurt Angle take advantage?
45:00How much does the champion have left?
45:01Three and a half minutes to go, Angle is down, five falls to four.
45:05I hope these guys exhausted, again, again.
45:09Another ankle lock.
45:11Will Brock Lesnar tap to the ankle lock this time?
45:13Kurt Angle can tie the thing, and Angle bounces off the second rope.
45:17Both men down again, and again.
45:19Lesnar buys time, the clock ticking away.
45:23Lesnar in the lead, can Angle capitalize?
45:25Brock needs to try to stay away from Kurt, and Kurt is stalking Angle, stalking Brock.
45:32And look at this.
45:34Well, that's the beginnings of a bow and arrow right there.
45:36That's a freestyle, freestyle hold if Kurt can float over, clasp the head right there.
45:43You see Kurt Angle glancing up at the scoreboard here.
45:45A huge clock on the scoreboard.
45:47Lesnar realizes time is ticking away.
45:49Is this a smart maneuver to use with only 240 to go?
45:53Yeah, I think it is.
45:54He's a smart fighting champion, Kurt Angle, to wear Lesnar down and keep Lesnar from going
45:59to the ropes.
46:00That's what Kurt's doing here, immobilizing Brock Lesnar, preventing Brock from grabbing
46:06the rope, and just trying to stretch that body apart with that freestyle bow and arrow.
46:11The challenger up five falls to four.
46:13220 and counting left in this championship matchup.
46:15If Lesnar holds onto the lead, he becomes the new champion.
46:18If Angle can tie it, we'll send this thing to overtime.
46:22Two minutes, nine seconds, eight seconds, take it away here.
46:26And now Brock Lesnar rolls out of the ring, and the challenger,
46:30the challenger wants to run from the champion with two minutes to go.
46:35Brock Lesnar wants to be the rabbit and run from the champion, Kurt Angle.
