00:02Malaysia is stepping up efforts to prepare its workforce for changing industry demands,
00:07with Talent Corp introducing two new initiatives to identify skills gaps and develop industry-ready
00:13talent. The Malaysia Talent Readiness Index, or MYTRI, and the MyBakat Talent Incubation Program,
00:20known as MYBIG, were launched as part of a wider effort to ensure Malaysians are equipped for the
00:26jobs of the future. Ramanan said the MyTRI application would provide data on the strengths,
00:54weaknesses, and needs of Malaysia's workforce, helping policymakers and industry players make
01:01more informed decisions. MYBIG, meanwhile, is designed to develop talent according to industry
01:07needs, including among women, military veterans, and other talent groups. The initiatives are
01:13supported by Talent Corp platforms, including the National Talent Incubation Ecosystem and the
01:19Future Skills Talent Council, where industry players are involved in shaping training programs from the
01:24outset. Ramanan also urged Malaysians to embrace artificial intelligence rather than see it as a
01:30threat to employment.
01:32A threat to employment.
01:32Mana-mana kita pergi, ditanyakan, is AI going to replace me? Is AI going to do the job that
01:39I'm going to do? Kalau kita biarkan AI melangkah ke depan, kita akan ketinggalan. We have to follow
01:54with the time. AI ini, dia boleh buat kerja. Siapa yang bagi dia input untuk buat kerja? Kita. Kita yang
02:04bagi dia input. Tetapi kita kena belajar AI juga.
02:09Talent Corp is offering free AI training through its Jelajah AI MyMahir program, which is open
02:15to Malaysians from various backgrounds. Ramanan stressed that improving talent must ultimately
02:21translate into higher productivity, better jobs, and higher incomes.
02:25If the people of Malaysia have a higher productivity and higher productivity, they must also get the opportunity to work
02:35and
02:36better work. We can't talk about the economy that is high but still have a lower productivity.
02:53If the economy is higher, productivity is higher. But the salary must also be higher.
03:01Talent Corp Chairman Elizabeth Wong said partnerships under Minggu Mai Bakat would be measured by the benefits they deliver to
03:08Malaysians.
03:09Among the initiatives being rolled out are RM2 million in scholarships for 50 B40 students through UNITA, AI
03:17certification for 100 women with Yayasan Aksiata, AI and digital skills training for more than 1,000 Malaysians through
03:25Mereka and IBM SkillsBuild, and 500 Google career certificates sponsored by Google Malaysia.
03:32The initiatives are aimed at one overarching goal. Ensuring Malaysia's workforce is ready not only for the job
03:39jobs available today but for the opportunities that lie ahead.
