Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro criticized Vice President Sara Duterte for her frequent overseas trips, saying it was ironic that Duterte urged the government to “start working and stop politicking.”
Castro said Duterte traveled abroad every month in 2025 and several months in 2026, adding that these trips were personal. She defended President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., saying he and his administration are still working to improve the economy and the lives of Filipinos, even with the Middle East crisis, natural disasters, and the threat of Super El Niño. Castro also said the President is working to enforce the law and hold those responsible for wrongdoing accountable, including anyone who betrays the country.
