00:00Hello everyone, my name is William Chambers. It is good to be here with you all today. I want to
00:04thank all those who view me sometimes, all the times, a little bit of the times. Just thank God
00:10for those who watch this channel. That being said, let us dive into the text. If I had a title
00:17for
00:17today's message, I would call it, God gave you a gift. Now develop it. Just because God has given
00:29you a gift doesn't mean you have nothing left to learn. The gifts of God must be cultivated,
00:38they must be developed, and they must be put to use. Meditate on these things, give thyself wholly
00:45unto them, that thy profiting may appear to all. So Paul is telling Timothy to give himself
00:52completely to the work that God has called him to do. He said, meditate on what God has called you
00:59to
00:59do, and give yourself wholly unto that thing. Paul instructed Timothy to give serious attention
01:07to the things he had been taught, and to devote himself wholeheartedly to the ministry. Whatever
01:14God is placed in your hands, whatever calling he's giving you, to cultivate that gift, you're going
01:21to have to devote yourself. There are a lot of uncultivated gifts, but God wants us to give
01:29ourselves wholly to his work. Help us today. Timothy was not to treat his calling as casual,
01:35but he was to diligently devote himself to the work of God. Serving God requires dedication,
01:46it requires study, it requires practice, it requires willingness to keep on learning. I believe God is
01:55giving me a gift to teach a little bit. That's why I'm here teaching a little bit. Street preach a
02:00little
02:00bit. Those gifts are nowhere developed like I want them to be developed. They embarrass me so much
02:06because I'm wanting to see a little bit more power in them. I'm wanting to be able to articulate God's
02:12word even the more effectively, but that's taking time. I don't plan to be here in two, three, four,
02:20five years. I plan to be working on this thing, working on this thing, and you should see me
02:23differently later. Give yourself wholly to these things. Practice and dedicate yourself. We should not
02:29expect to become efficient in our calling without investing ourselves. It is going to cost you,
02:37and that's the issue for some of us. Paul told Timothy to continue growing until his progress
02:44becomes evident. I want you to grow so much that every, that you're profiting, your growth will appear
02:51to everybody. People are going to say, whoa, look at how he has grown, and that's what God wants to
02:57do in
02:57our life. He wants others to see how we're profiting from the word of God, to see how we're profiting
03:02in our walk with God, to see how we're profiting in our call of God. Paul wanted Timothy's growth to
03:08become visible, and your, the growth in your calling and your walk with God should become visible. It
03:15should become apparent, and people should be like, whoa, that part, that man's going from faith to
03:20faith. That woman's going from glory to glory. Wow, look at that. Timothy was to keep developing
03:25his understanding, keep developing his conduct, keep developing his ministry so others to recognize
03:33the progress that he was making. God does not expect us to say at the same level. He expects us
03:41to get better and better at the thing he's called us to do. This principle applies to everyone. No matter
03:47what God is entrusted to in your hands, don't be discouraged when you are not where you want to be.
03:54Don't be discouraged when your progress is not what you want to see. Don't be discouraged. We grow
04:01little by little, precept upon precept, here a little, and there a little. Help us keep giving yourself
04:08to the work, and let your progress become evidence. I'm going to cut this a little short today,
04:15but myself as a developing preacher, I'm not where I want to be. Oftentimes, it's very embarrassing
04:23when I post some messages, and I'll be like, man, that didn't come off so well. But God can use
04:31even embarrassing messages as long as they are faithful messages. I might not have articulated it
04:38like I want it to. It didn't flow like I want it to flow, but God can still use that.
04:47It takes time
04:47for us to grow, and I thank God that everyone that's watching me has been patient in my growth
04:53because it's going to take patience to grow your gift. God has given you a gift. Now, it is up
05:02to
05:02you to develop that thing and cultivate that thing. It's going to take some investment.
05:08Help us all to do so, Lord. In Jesus' name, we pray and say, amen.
05:33We pray and say, amen.
05:33Amen.
05:33Amen.
05:34Amen.
05:34Amen.
05:34Amen.
05:35Amen.
