00:19freezing nobody cares but it is well it doesn't help at some point during the night i was like
00:24oh it's colder it's cold i keep my house reasonably cold anyway um but i think it was like terribly
00:31frigid i had it set at 68 last night i'm like it's not too bad but normally i have a
00:35fan going to my
00:36room like it's cold enough i don't need the fan going and throughout the night i think i got up
00:41once or twice i'm like oh it is colder but i'll stay in bed when i finally got out of
00:45bed and looked
00:46at the thermostat yeah it said it was 60 i'm like 60 well that's not right so i went over
00:52to it made
00:52sure to turn it on and make sure it's going up to 68 and by the time i left the
00:57house
00:59it had dropped to 58 degrees and i i turned off the furnace i'm like and the thermostat turned it
01:06off i'm like okay let's let's stop and when i left the house it was still pumping out coal there
01:11despite the fact that it's off so i have a phone call made okay to get that taken care of
01:16but when
01:17it drops two degrees in the next you know hour and 15 minutes while you're awake i mean that's
01:23like what so what are we doing let me ask you a question because um you and i do the
01:30same thing
01:30for a living uh and i have a bit of it call michigan football
01:38they call it the gator cast uh yeah it's very popular just like the manning cast except it's
01:45gator and just gator um no so we uh i love having the window open at night and fresh air
01:53coming into
01:53the room the problem is as the weather has dropped i wake up every morning with a sore throat yeah
02:01and it's a bit of an issue it's been an issue throughout like the last couple of weeks
02:07but i can't help it it's like i feel stuffy i feel i if i don't have the window open
02:12i feel like i'm i'm confined or something like i get claustrophobic and and so i've got the bit of
02:17i got a bit of a problem here work dog versus sleep dog sleep dog's winning work work dog's pissed
02:25because the throat hurts every day i yeah i hear you i think you're gonna have to uh
02:29to bail on the window open do you have a fan in your room or no we do we have
02:34a ceiling fan but it
02:35sucks okay like you turn a ceiling fan on i you know it's it's like this slow if i'm standing
02:44right
02:44under it i can perhaps notice it but it's the most useless ceiling fan ever perhaps you need a new
02:50ceiling fan perhaps we do um the other thing it does is it provides the noise that kind of helps
02:55you fall asleep too um at least that's the theory yeah i don't have an issue with that so my
03:01issue is
03:02waking up in the middle of the night getting back to sleep like sleeping again i wake i wake up
03:06at
03:072 30 and you know what i'm thinking i still need more items for are you going to eat that
03:12that's a real problem next thing you know i'm on my phone searching for new menu items
03:16uh like ones we have today which i'm very excited about 12 30 for are you going to eat that

03:21no you know it's just it's just one of those deals one of those work hazards i guess which look

03:27are people that have a far greater work hazards than a sore throat in the morning do you need a
03:32lozenge yeah yeah do you want to load and stuff out there listening right now doing construction along

03:45out there well i gotta figure something out too i have a phone call to make this morning yeah um
03:50hopefully i can get it taken care of because i'm i'm afraid i'm gonna come home and the house is
03:54gonna be like 51 degrees yeah sure well you won't be hot so pistons opener how about those pistons huh
04:04they look great um in the second half i was about to say i put a qualifier yeah they look
04:09great in
04:09the first quarter for the most part and then in the second half what happened in between was was
04:15awful but it's basketball i uh you know i had somebody coming over the house yesterday uh so i
04:22had to be home uh so i didn't stick around for the game uh and then my mom was going
04:29to come over as
04:29well so she came over and we're watching the second half and they're down by 22 and i i literally
04:36made
04:37the comment so the nba 22 points doesn't really mean anything at this point you need that in the
04:43fourth quarter and it's going to matter more but at halftime or in early in the third quarter it's
04:47just not going to matter and my mom's like well why i'm like well because these guys shoot three
04:51pointers now it's different and this is a differently built team and i said watch and then boom the next
04:55i think uh somebody javante green hit a three-pointer i'm like see now it's 19 and then oh see
05:01now it's 17
05:02and you know i get up and meet with the guy that was at my house and i come back
05:06and sit down and
05:07it's like a 10-point game and i'm like this is the nba this is what happened last year in
05:12the
05:12playoffs when they took on uh orlando and they got down by all that and it was halftime my brother's
05:16like oh they're done i'm like yeah i wouldn't say that you know because it's the nba and you can
05:21come back quickly and look what happened in that game uh but for it to happen in the first game
05:25of the
05:26season and i don't know if because they were down by that much that's why they took 43 point shots
05:35which is well above their normal from last year or if this is just the new pistons look and this
05:40is
05:40what they're supposed to do yeah we're taking more three-point shots because we have our shooters now
05:45yeah i mean i gotta be honest i don't love 43s i it you know when you get behind and
05:52certainly that's
05:53going to have something to do with it but i do not love 43 pointers in a game last year
05:58the
05:58pistons averaged 31 three-pointers a game it was 29th in the nba 43 pointers in a game would average
06:05would put you in the top seven last year and yet they added shooters so you know that's two things
06:13conspiring against you know wanting not to take that many threes one conspiring is you fell behind
06:19by 22 points in the third quarter two is you added all these shooters so what are they going to
06:24do
06:24shoot now at the end of the day it felt like it was the same guys taking the majority of
06:28the threes
06:29duncan robinson and javante green um in fact let me uh pull out the box score the game book uh
06:37duncan took nine javante green took eight uh new guy isaiah joe took seven
06:45kade cunningham took six so this is all kevin herter took four of the new guys john collins took
06:54three isaiah joe took seven and that's it so i mean look uh tory and prince didn't play obviously
07:04uh and so that's i mean i you know that's the bottom line is that's a lot of three pointers
07:10to take i guess it's an overreaction to say i'm not sure i'm going to like them taking this many
07:15threes but considering the score and the way they reshape their team now that what did they do they
07:22shot 37 and a half percent from three they made 15 of 40 however in the first half from beyond
07:29the
07:29arc they were four of 18 second half 11 of 22 oh that's and i mean and that's when you're
07:36if you're
07:36gonna shoot 11 for 22 i guess take a million threes do whatever you want but why bother taking
07:41a two-point shot if you're gonna knock 50 down from three-point lane but to get down by 22

07:47to nothing run and javante green was taking yolo threes he was a heat checking all over the place it
07:53was a it was a great comeback and a stirring comeback as they might say and on the newsies back
08:01in the day extra extra pistons was stirring comeback uh fans were into it it was loud it was
08:09great it was a fantastic comeback you'll take it what a way to start the season in the nba i'm
08:15sure
08:16the nba is thrilled with what happened there to see you know they're not thrilled to see a team get
08:21down by 22 major tune-out factor but then when they start coming back like oh do we have something
08:26here and then the pistons end up winning and winning running away to be down by 22 and win by
08:33eight you know you actually get they were up by i think 11 or 12 at 1.2 down the
08:38stretch there it
08:39just that was crazy and it's it's two things that happen there it's the new look pistons taking three
08:45three point shots that they were knocking on the second half that didn't do as much in the first half
08:49but the other thing is when the team wants to or that when the team has to they can always
08:55go in
08:55their back pocket and say well we play defense and they can d up and that's exactly what they did
09:01because you can't go on a 22 nothing run without playing defense you know i think they had scored
09:0820 points in three minutes and 38 seconds during that run it's crazy but you can't do that unless
09:14you're stopping the other team that's exactly what the pistons do they can stymie you and then
