Kensi Gives a Deaf Engineer a Chance on NCIS: Los Angeles

FanReviews

Sometimes the most powerful moments on NCIS: Los Angeles aren't about gunfights or dangerous pursuits. When Kensi Blye meets Sienna Marone, an engineer connected to the Heptagon project, she learns that Sienna once dreamed of serving her country but was prevented from pursuing that path because she is deaf. Rather than overlooking her abilities, Kensi recognizes an opportunity to bring her expertise into the investigation. Daniela Ruah delivers a meaningful scene as Kensi helps Sienna contribute to a mission in a way she once thought impossible. It's a reminder that intelligence, determination, and the desire to serve aren't defined by someone's hearing ability. Watch NCIS: Los Angeles through participating TV providers, or purchase episodes and seasons on Amazon Video and Apple TV. Availability varies by location.

00:00Oh, oh, okay.

00:02Hi, Sienna, again.

00:03Kenzie, can I talk to her for a second?

00:05Just a second?

00:06Yeah.

00:06Cool. Hey, so, uh, Kenzie, Lena, baby,

00:09what are we doing?

00:11Sweetie, it's gonna be fine.

00:13Yeah, no, no, no, no, no.

00:14She seems like a perfectly wonderful person

00:15with a perfectly nasty roundhouse,

00:17but you can't just invite her to work the case with us.

00:20Why not?

00:20Why not? Yeah.

00:21I can give you a thousand reasons why not.

00:23Wait, are you kidding me?

00:24No, I'm not kidding you.

00:25I'm so...

00:25So, you know, the whispering doesn't make a difference

00:28and I can read lips.

00:29That's... that is great.

00:30That is... that is so great.

00:32Listen, the team's not gonna take this well.

00:34It's gonna be fine because we can just register her

00:36as a cooperating witness.

00:37Oh, wow, how quickly you forget your FLETC training,

00:39the number three reasons to kill your career,

00:41alcohol and drug abuse,

00:42two, uh, inter-office liaisons.

00:44Uh...

00:44Exactly, and CWs.

00:46Listen, it's going to be fine.

00:49Again, I'm not sure that's how this works.

00:52I'm just saying there's gonna be fallout.

00:54And I'm saying that I'm gonna call Nell,

00:56I'm going to explain everything to her,

00:58and she's obviously going to say...

00:59Okay, I'm sorry, Kenz,

01:01but this is gonna be a hard pass.

01:03Under no circumstances can I allow this to happen.

01:06Harsh.

01:07Morning, Admiral. Good to see you again.

01:09Oh, come on.

01:11Why'd you have to go and ruin a fine moment like that?

01:14You were finally sounding like you ran the place.

01:17I'm dealing with a situation here, sir, so...

01:19Exactly.

01:20Now, you keep that pressure up.

01:22Add a little salt, you know, the really rough kind,

01:24and twist that knife.

01:26Yep, doing my best.

01:27What's the issue?

01:29Are you familiar with the case?

01:31Am I Bob Fosse?

01:33No.

01:34Then quit tap dancing.

01:37Kenzie wants Sienna Marchione,

01:39one of the engineers on the Heptagon Project,

01:41to help us work the case as a registered CW.

01:43Why?

01:44It's Sienna's dream to serve her country.

01:47Unfortunately, she's never been able to join the military.

01:50What is this, make a wish?

01:53Sir, she's never been able to join the military,

01:55because she is deaf.

01:58I see.

02:00Give me the phone.

02:01It's okay, I'm handling it.

02:02And I said give me the damn phone.

02:03Sir, I am handling it.

02:07Fine.

02:08Then you tell Agent Bly that Sienna Marchione can work the case.

02:14I'm sorry, what?

02:15You heard me.
