00:00It is a skill set that I believe not only have I needed, but so many people need within business
00:06or building a personal brand. You are able to share your story. You're able to tell people
00:10about your services. You're able to recommend your products. How will people know? How will
00:16they find you? Sarah, how did you get so comfortable stepping out onto stages or saying yes to
00:21opportunities where you're able to share your story? And I wish I could say that everybody
00:26is just born with confidence, but it's simply not the case. I even being a very confident
00:33person struggled with knowing how to articulate myself and I was only ever able to achieve
00:38a pace and a tonality that I was proud of by putting the reps in. Yes, that means in order
00:45to feel comfortable and confident in stepping out on stages, you need to put the reps in
00:51behind the scenes or just simply put your hand up and be okay with failing your very
00:56first time. I'd be selling tickets to my class without having zero clue on how to articulate
01:02myself or educate. Saying yes to hard things, knowing that I could do it deep down and then
01:07putting in the reps simply came later. I would sell my tickets to my classes and then you
01:12would find me in the gym on a treadmill with no one in sight saying my class out loud. I
01:19would
01:19pretend that there was an audience in front of me or I would invite a few friends over, seat
01:24them on the lounge and deliver a presentation. I have often videoed every single one of my
01:29classes from start to finish that I can watch it back. And yes, I've been told Sarah, you
01:34obsessed with yourself. Don't you ever get sick of watching yourself? There is a purpose
01:38and a reason as to why I watch my entire sessions from start to finish all the way back because
01:43without knowing what I sound like, how will I ever know what I need to work on? No matter
01:48what the class is about and what people purchase tickets for, I always ask each individual person
01:54what their aim is to get out of the day so that I'm making sure that I'm not rambling through
01:59my
01:59class, that people are leaving with the very one thing that they want to know and gain. I'm always
02:05open to feedback at the end of a class and I never just accept somebody saying I love it. I
02:10always
02:11ask what is the one thing that you gained or an aha moment that you had at the end of
02:16the day.
02:17That way I know what lines hit and what I might need to work on. Don't forget to try and
02:22work on
02:23your filler words. Um, like, pauses, they create a space of uncertainty. They make it feel as though
02:30you're not the expert or you have no idea what you're talking about. Stop trying to sound like
02:35everyone else. Make sure that you stay true to the words that you would use, the knowledge that you
02:41know and the way that you normally articulate yourself. There's a difference between being professional
02:46and being an entirely different person. It's not going to hit the same if what you're saying
02:52has simply come from someone else and the way that they would say it.
