00:05councils we are starting to turn the tide when it comes to the state of Britain's roads. I think
00:12for too long now potholes have been a source of national embarrassment and we know that if you
00:17hit a pothole and you have to take the car in to be fixed it doesn't come cheap. So this
00:22year we
00:22will see councils resurfacing 7,000 miles of roads and it's really good to be here on a road
00:29that has been recently resurfaced. That's the equivalent of the distance between London and
00:34Singapore and compared to this time two years ago councils are spending 800 million pounds more
00:40than they were previously and we're also seeing councils investing in those preventative works
00:47because we want to stop potholes from forming in the first place. It's going to take time you can't
00:53undo a decade of underinvestment in a couple of years but we know this is one of those everyday
00:59annoyances that really impacts upon people and impacts upon people's bank balances as well.
01:04So you said...
