Have you ever seen strange cloud formations in the sky and wondered if they were the famous "seismic clouds"? On the morning of October 21, 2026, I observed this phenomenon in my community of Nueva Esperanza, in eastern Panama, and it caught my attention because it's not common to see these types of clouds. Upon investigating, I discovered a saying among farmers that these clouds foretell a future earthquake, but I also learned how this strange phenomenon actually occurs: it's the interaction between humidity, temperature, and air currents in the upper layers of the atmosphere that creates these striking visual patterns. And I also learned that there is no relationship between the clouds and tectonic activity.

This phenomenon is due to the combination of cold air from the lower layers with moisture currents from the middle layers of the atmosphere, which directly generates these waves and formations in the sky. Scientifically, this phenomenon has no relation to earthquakes or tectonic activity, thus debunking the popular myth of "seismic clouds".
