second post on Their Brother, the Dragon Sacrifice — I want to defend the dragon.
The dragon takes what it's offered. It doesn't pick a child. It doesn't lie about the deal. Somebody in that family does the choosing, signs the terms, then tells itself it had no options.
That's the trick. Put a monster on the horizon and everyone stops looking at the people splitting the bill.
Rewatch it. The dragon gets four minutes. The negotiation gets a whole episode.
And when the one they gave away comes back, nobody asks who signed. They want him gone again.
✨ What worked for me:
- The dragon never speaks. It doesn't have to.
- Every accusation aimed at it lands on someone in that room.
✨ Bottom line: the monster is a mirror, not a threat.
Who actually made the choice? Say it plainly.
— K, karma is a dish best served on screen 🥂
