00:00Former Senator Sabas Pandey is critical of the government's 2027 fiscal package
00:05as he says there is nothing to help persons who have lost their jobs.
00:10It's what I did in the scene the budget is concerned to me.
00:13For example, we all know that we are under hard circumstances.
00:19The number of persons who are fired during the last two or three months is frightening.
00:27One would have thought that the budget would have been a budget which includes all.
00:33It would have been, when the UNC wins, everybody wins.
00:37And what they could have done, instead of firing people and throwing them on the street,
00:41something like this, why didn't they divide whatever resources we have among all the people?
00:49The attorney at law says that the excuse of not having enough money is not valid.
00:53He says if the government is accusing the previous administration of maladministration
00:58and costing this country billions of dollars, they should immediately rectify those problems.
01:04Billions of dollars, when Dr. Vrain, let's go for that.
01:07Immediately go for that.
01:09And let us deal with the issue of crime.
01:12Throw your hands up in there and say, oh, we don't have money.
01:14It's not good enough.
01:15Yeah.
01:16It's not good enough at all.
01:17Pandey, who also served as a minister in the Ministry of National Security,
01:21was critical of the current national security configuration.
01:24But there is no planning in the Ministry of National Security.
01:29For example, I was surprised to hear the Minister of Defence says,
01:38we are closing down my lot and my part because we have no money.
01:44That is something that is crazy.
01:47My lot and my part were organizations which were helping the poor boys in the ghetto
01:53to take them away from crime.
01:56So what is the future that we have going forward?
02:00Pandey says instead of just closing down the my lot and my part programs,
02:05the government should have just reformed them.
02:08He says in this country, money is not the only issue.
02:11There is a lack of vision to move forward.
02:13Money is not the only problem.
02:15For example, current trade college is as big as any campus in the islands.
02:21You know what they did?
02:22The PM did.
02:23The PM took the campus, the current trade college,
02:28closed it down for the army to occupy the building.
02:33The buildings, while two miles away, they have camp La Romaine.
02:37So therefore, it's not only money, it's vision and consciousness to move forward.
