00:00Ok, real talk, if you've got old photo discs, home movies, or backup DVDs sitting in a drawer,
00:05you need a way to read them before those discs actually die.
00:08So I dug through the deals and found the 5 best external CD DVD burners every archivist needs,
00:14and a couple are under 20 bucks.
00:16Let's get into it.
00:18First up is the Classic Workhorse.
00:21USB 3.0, burns and reads CD and DVD plus minus RW,
00:25and it's plug and play on pretty much any PC, laptop, or desktop, no drivers, no drama, no software hunting.
00:33It's 2136, with nearly 5,000 sold and a 4.6 rating.
00:38If you just want a reliable burner that does the job and disappears into a drawer, this is the one.
00:44Next is my favorite overall, a 4.9 star drive.
00:48This 7-in-1 handles USB 3.0 and Type-C on the same cable,
00:52so it works with brand new laptops and older desktops alike.
00:56Reads, writes, plays everything you throw at it.
01:00It's 2341.
01:02For about 2 bucks more than the last one, that flexibility is honestly a steal.
01:07Now this one's built for archivists specifically.
01:10Same 7-in-1 Type-C setup, but it adds TF and SD card slots
01:15so you can rip a stack of discs and dump your camera cards in the same session,
01:18no adapters, no card reader needed.
01:21It's 24 even, rated 4.7.
01:25If your archive lives on discs and SD cards, this is your machine.
01:29This next one is basically a hub in disguise.
01:33It's ultra-slim, and beyond burning discs it gives you 4 USB ports and 2 TF and SD slots,
01:38plug it in and your laptop becomes a full transfer station.
01:42It even works with Mac, which is rare at this price.
01:462440, 4.9 stars.
01:49Power users, this one's for you.
01:52Last one's the budget pick and honestly the best value on the list.
01:56Same USB 3.0 setup, reads and writes CD in DDD plus minus RW, plug and play, and it's holding
02:03a 4.9 rating.
02:051983.
02:07If you're digitizing a big stack of discs and don't need the card slots, grab this and pocket the change.
