00:10Organised Crime Unit have joined forces with the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service for
00:15the initiative, which will see them mounting increased activity at identified HGV crime
00:21hotspots across the region. Organised criminal gangs regularly target good vehicles while they're
00:28parked up, often slashing curtain sides or breaking open back doors while drivers are on rest brakes.
00:35Officers will be running a series of driver engagement evenings at key locations
00:40on the region's transport network.
