00:00Tattoo artists are increasingly seeing AI enter the creative process before the needle touches skin.
00:06AI can help generate designs that artists adapt using their own techniques and experience.
00:12This is also edited with AI, but my tattoo is not going to look like my reference exactly,
00:20because I want that to be more realistic on the skin than on the photo itself.
00:24So that's something what you do from your head. You can't do that with photos all the time.
00:31For people who cannot draw, AI can turn an idea into something visual to bring into the studio.
00:38Let's say about 70% lately. It does help a lot, but at the same time they think that's something
00:46possible on the skin.
00:49What looks convincing in an AI-generated image may not always work when permanently applied onto skin.
00:56Like, way too detailed, it might not stay in.
01:00I mean, don't get me wrong, I do love details and my work is known about details,
01:04but at the same time, you want to make it right, so it's going to last forever.
01:09If somebody brings us an idea and they're like, oh, I've mocked this up on AI, it's like, okay, well,
01:15we can take that,
01:16but I'm going to draw you something much better than a computer can.
01:19And most of the time, the best tattoos come out of somebody just saying, here's my ideas, I love your
01:26work, you do you,
01:27you do your thing with this idea.
01:29Some artists are still choosing to work with their pencils and sketchbooks without the help of AI.
01:35The rise of AI in tattooing is also raising questions over whether artists should be paid when their work is
01:42used to train it.
