00:00What do you think of theămnistra?
00:04Last year we recorded the highest number of tourist arrivals in our history.
00:10At the beginning of this year we faced a challenge because of the Middle East crisis.
00:15Because Middle East is the transit point with Sri Lanka and Europe.
00:20But I am very happy to say you that now the Sri Lankan tourism industry is gradually coming up to
00:27normal.
00:28The uniqueness of Sri Lanka is within one country, within one package, you can get the vast variety of experiences.
00:37So that kind of experiences you can't get in any other country.
00:43So when you go to the Sri Lankan beaches, you feel you are in Maldives.
00:47In my presentation, I clearly explained it.
00:50So when you go to the New Area, you feel you are in Switzerland.
00:53So when you go to the Central Area, there are many Yala, Vilpatu and Min area, a lot of wildlife
01:04parks.
01:05When you go there, you feel you are in Central Africa or Kenya.
01:08So when you go to the Meemure, it's like Bali.
01:12When you go to the Seagiri, it's like Peru.
01:15Italy is one of the key tourist markets in Sri Lanka.
01:19So actually the next year, we have different plans to promote Sri Lanka as a tourist destination among the Italian
01:28travelers.
01:29The one is, so we are planning to implement digital and PR campaign to focus on the Italian market at
01:36the beginning of the next year.
01:37We are planning to do it for the six to eight month period and end of the next year, we
01:43are planning to launch global campaign to brand, to uplift the Sri Lankan brand.
01:49So all these campaigns, so we focus on the Europe and Italy also one of the main country to include
01:58this campaign.
