Bridget Phillipson has said the Reform party has "descended into the gutter", when reflecting on language and rhetoric in politics. Speaking to Channel 4 News, the Minister for Women and Equalities said right-wing parties wanted to "divide our communities". Ms Phillipson said she thought attitudes calling into question British identity based on skin colour was something the country had "left behind us", and that politicians have a responsibility "to build a better country and to build a fairer country for everyone". In response to Ms Phillipson's comments, a Reform UK spokesman said the party would "take her lectures on racism with a pinch of salt”. They added: “Bridget Phillipson lectures on racism while conveniently forgetting that Labour is one of only two parties ever formally condemned by the EHRC for antisemitism - the other being the BNP." Tory Leader Kemi Badenoch used her Conservative party conference speech to attack Reform politicians' views on racial identity, including debating whether her own mixed-race children were English. #BridgetPhillipson #Reform #News #Channel4News
