00:00Since we left the European Union, cooperation and collaboration on things like tackling illegal migration has become more difficult.
00:08Our Home Secretary has really grasped that nettle and has seen the boat crossings, 48,000 boat crossings stopped,
00:16over 80,000 deported that shouldn't have been there and net migration down by 82%.
00:21Previous governments were not able to do that.
00:23What we're saying is the relationship with Europe can enable us to safeguard our borders, and we're very clear on
00:31that,
00:31but also about how we can ensure that our economies are benefiting from people who come here, work here,
00:37and people, of course, who are here that want to go over to Europe and work as well.
00:41It's about a grown-up conversation about what is best for Britain and what is best for our economy.
