Jaime Garza 🥊 Knockout Artist

Born in Santa Cruz, California, Garza is a former Mexican American boxer who competed in the Super Bantamweight and Featherweight divisions. He's the former WBC Super Bantamweight Champion. On February 1978, Jaime won his pro debut by knocking out Eduardo Villareal and on June 15, 1983 an undefeated Garza defeated Bobby Berna to win the WBC Super Bantamweight Championship. He defended his title once against Felipe Orozco before losing to Juan Meza in one of the most back and forth 1st rounds in world championship history. Before his bout with Meza, Garza had accumulated an incredible undefeated record of 40-0 and was known as one of the premier punchers among the best lower weight class fighters of his era. Many of Garza's bouts were often fast and exciting as his all-out high pressure style often overwhelmed his opponents and the vast majority of his knockouts came in the opening 3 rounds. After the Meza bout, Garza's career slowly declined and he eventually retired in 1995 with a professional record of 48-6 with 44 knockouts.
