00:00there was a whole load of drama trying to bid on it lots of heartbreak lots of crazy stuff going
00:04on
00:05hello this is becky baldwin from merciful fate fury and i play live bass for delilah bond this
00:10is my rickenbacker 4001 bass and i recently used this to record on to naomi's new albums coming
00:17out soon that's called from the dark and this has been my dream bass since i was a teenager so
00:22when
00:22i first saw motorhead's overkill video where they're playing a live show and lemmy's got one
00:28of these like off-white rickenbackers with the black binding and that's when i knew i really
00:33wanted one of these so i first came across this one on ebay in the end of 2017 there was
00:39a whole
00:40load of drama trying to bid on it lots of heartbreak lots of crazy stuff going on but in january
00:452018
00:46i thought i'd lost it and then fast eddie clark i found out that he had died and i felt
00:53so much
00:53regret that i'd let this bass go so i ebayed it again and looked for rickenbacker basses and it
00:59turned out it was still on there and the person that i was in a bidding war against i actually
01:03knew
01:03um they didn't get the money together and they didn't get the bass so i took the money i had
01:08i
01:08went to the seller and i said would you pick my money and sell me this bass and they said
01:14yes so
01:15since then that has been my number one bass and i absolutely love it so i modified it with seymour
01:21duncan bridge pickup and as you can see very beautiful unique scratch plate this was made by
01:28alperia's custom pick guards the design is based on my tattoo right here and it got bb and a little
01:33bass clef and a truss rod cover which says rick and becky you've also got a pickup selector which is
01:40a
01:40little skull and so yeah i got my dream bass and it means so much to me to play this
01:45bass all over the
01:45world uh it's had a lot of abuse over the years i love the like the off-white color you
01:51get from all
01:51the sweat stains uh i bled on it here and i don't know what i used to clean it but
01:56it was a big mistake
01:57um it's a punk rock bass but it's an iconic bass and i'm so proud to own it this is
02:02becky
02:03baldwin thank you guitar world this is my rick and becker 4001
