00:13After the game, I was just asking what your emotions were like, you know, you get into
00:17the tunnel, you start singing your songs, you know, despite the run, despite the performances
00:22you've seen recently, are you still very supportive of them?
00:25Yeah, I have to say, I've really mixed emotions. Probably I didn't really expect that of the
00:33supporters, if I'm honest, but I've always felt the support and always felt that connection
00:40with them anyway. They're probably sick of me saying all the times I've sat here and said
00:47it, the respect that I have for them and for them to kind of show that back meant an awful
00:51lot but it's still to be in such a difficult situation and go through a day like we have
00:56done and the spell like we have done is certainly difficult to take so there's a real mixed emotions
01:01in there for sure.
01:04Hi, Michael. What have you said to the players post-game in the dressing room? It was obvious
01:09leaving the pitch that the supporters are very much behind you, they're very much not behind
01:14the players. I'm sure you went down the tunnel with the reaction to the players. What have
01:17you told them about that and how you've been involved with that?
01:24No, it's not something to discuss in the changing room after the game too much to be honest. I
01:29think there's a lot of emotion in the changing room right now, there's a lot of disappointment,
01:33there's a lot of other boys quite hurt to be fair disappointed wise of the situation so
01:40it's not like they don't care or they want to be in this position, you know, if this is
01:47the position we all find ourselves in so that the ones I've not spoke to everyone individually,
01:52but the ones I have spoke to is, you know, it's affecting them a lot as you can see really
01:57with the performance, how much it's not gone our way and we've not made it go our way so
02:03it's, there's only so much really because I think just because of the way the game ended,
02:08I think the atmosphere and the stadium, the dynamics and trying to almost spend some time
02:14trying to digest that and see what that means, you know.
02:18I think the fans think there's a lot more wrong at this football club than nearly what's
02:25happening on the pitch but there's only one manager and that manager has to take responsibility
02:29for the results which clearly is not coming. Do you expect to be in charge next week?
02:36How does that work in terms of how long?
02:39I take the responsibility, of course I take responsibility, I've said that, I accept the responsibility,
02:45whatever's going to happen results wise, whether we win, we lose, draw, whatever happens and
02:50through the whole football club I'm in this position because I respect the position that I'm in
02:54and the responsibility is mine. What else can I say really right now?
03:01I understand.
03:02Well Michael, I know I've touched on everything before but I've seen I've got to the point
03:06now where Jason Wilcox or I might know how we should be addressing not just Aspen supporters
03:11as well because as Tyrone just said earlier, there's obviously a lot of support for you but
03:17I mean you must have heard what they've seen about Jason and the owners today yet the silence
03:22from them just continues.
03:26Again, like I said to you the other day, it's not for me to say who speaks, who doesn't
03:31speak, when they speak and how they speak. I know my role here to speak to you guys and
03:38represent the team and the football club as best as I possibly can from this position.
03:45Yeah, as I said about the atmosphere in the stadium and the feelings of pause, the frustration,
03:50the disappointment, it gave me really mixed feelings, you know, standing there and being
03:53in that position. It was a difficult day for sure.
03:57James and then Rob. Michael, just following on from Simon, it's obviously clear that Simon
04:05said that the fans didn't make it very clear today, they think it's the play but do you
04:12expect to get sacked tonight or tomorrow given the current scenario?
04:18I totally understand the situation. I'm not expecting anything in particular to be honest.
04:23I'm carrying on as normal and, you know, I love this place. I always do what I feel is going
04:30to be the best for the football club, whatever decision is made and anything really. So, that's
04:37kind of it. You know, I'm not expecting anything everywhere.
04:44No, just briefly we came down like they were always after a game but nothing out of the ordinary.
05:03Yeah, I mean certainly to get to this point, there's a lot of questions and you need to find the
05:12answers to.
05:15But, you know, last season to finish third was a really good achievement in the circumstances
05:20to get to where we did and the amount of results that we did and we were aware of that.
05:25We understood where that left us and what was next, what needed to be done and how we needed to
05:30improve
05:31and kind of where we were at as a team and as a group at that stage. So, I definitely
05:37knew that we hadn't cracked it
05:39and there was a lot of work to be done. But that doesn't mean to say that it should have
05:45gone this way.
05:46Last question for Green.
05:47Michael, you've been through situations like this as a player, you've been through them as a coach,
05:53as a supporter, now as a head coach as well. Do you know why it keeps coming back to moments
05:59like this?
06:00Despite the highs, despite runs like last season, some of the trophies that have been won, the successes
06:04at the club, do you know why it keeps coming back to this?
06:08Probably a number of things, really. If I really had the answers, I wouldn't have let it happen.
06:13If I could do something about it and there was something that I could really control,
06:16then I would have tried to do everything I can to not be in this position.
06:20Of course, I have this season and for a number of reasons, whatever they are,
06:26we've not been able to stop that happening to the position we're in right now.
06:30Do you know any of the reasons for that?
06:35Consistency and hitting a level of consistency and moving forward
06:38and striving for more is always a challenge, you know, and keep pushing.
06:46Consistency is everything, really.
06:48If you don't have the consistency of all the work, then it becomes a challenge.
06:52I mean, that's not everything. There's a number of things you can look at,
06:56but I don't think now sitting here is the perfect attempt to go through everything.
07:01Thanks, everyone.
07:02Bye, guys. Cheers.
