Transcript

00:00:00The anime opens by explaining that for centuries a war has existed between the Land of Light

00:00:05and the Land of Darkness, as humans have tried to eradicate the demon clan, but have so far

00:00:10been unable to defeat the seven demon kings. We are then told that of the seven kings the

00:00:15most cruel and ruthless is known as Merlin, who is the protagonist of our story. We see that

00:00:21outside the castle a battle is taking place between humans and demons, and a demon named

00:00:25Lilith casts a love enchantment spell that causes the human knights to start fighting

00:00:29among themselves. However, at that moment, a heroine from the human kingdom appears, known

00:00:34as Alice. Lilith realizes her enchantment spell had no effect on Alice, so both of them launch

00:00:40into combat, but Alice takes a hit. After several exchanges of blows and abilities, we see that

00:00:46Lilith is far superior to the girl, and she thinks the fight is extremely boring since

00:00:51Lilith tells Alice she does not even have the power of a true hero. This makes Alice angry

00:00:56and she starts charging an ability into her sword. Lilith, very confident, tries to strike

00:01:01the sword with her whips but they shatter instantly, which makes her very nervous. Alice tells her

00:01:06that a sacred sword like hers cannot be touched by darkness, and she follows up with a combined

00:01:11attack that pins Lilith to the ground. She also puts shackles on the demon so she cannot escape.

00:01:17Meanwhile, Merlin, who had been writing some reports, gets annoyed by the noise outside.

00:01:22Alice thinks she has found the castle of the first demon king. She gets nervous knowing that

00:01:26for centuries Merlin has made life impossible for everyone. She asks the sage who is with her

00:01:32to let her attack the castle, but the sage says it is not necessary, and we see him together with

00:01:37several mages beginning to summon a giant creature. He mentions that humans spent 100 years creating this

00:01:43monster as a weapon to destroy the demons, and that a single blow from it could wipe out every demon.

00:01:49This makes Alice say it is not necessary to kill all the demons since they should focus mainly on

00:01:54Merlin. But the sage, very angry, makes it clear that killing all the demons is an honor to him.

00:02:00He also mentions he wants revenge on Merlin since in the past he truly fought against him,

00:02:05and adds that he has been the only human who was able to face Merlin and escape with his life

00:02:09by a

00:02:10miracle, which is why he understands how dangerous he is. We then see the giant monster begin charging

00:02:16a powerful ray which it fires without hesitation at the castle. But at that moment, Merlin steps

00:02:21outside, and everyone is shocked to see the first demon king standing before all of them.

00:02:26Merlin happened to land right on top of Alice and Lilith, acting like a child who had been disturbed.

00:02:31He walks over to Alice and using just two fingers sends her flying. He also lets everyone know that

00:02:37humans seem very careless these days when it comes to choosing heroes, clearly implying the people

00:02:42they choose are quite weak. Merlin also reminds the sage that he is the person who wet himself while

00:02:47begging Merlin to spare his life. This leaves all the knights very confused since they thought the

00:02:53sage had fought Merlin and survived because of his own power. The sage, very nervously, says this time

00:02:59he will finish Merlin off, and many of his subordinates sacrifice their lives to feed energy to the monster,

00:03:04which then begins charging a powerful ray against Merlin. However, Merlin draws his sword and with

00:03:10a single slash cuts the creature in two. This makes the sage kneel before Merlin once again begging for

00:03:16mercy. But just at that moment, bells start ringing, and Merlin becomes completely flustered because he

00:03:21was supposed to submit a weekly report and had no time to write it, so he immediately runs back toward

00:03:27the castle. Just before leaving, Merlin draws his sword and makes a single cut, which forces Alice to use

00:03:33her shield while also creating an enormous crack in the ground that wipes out everyone. Merlin then

00:03:38arrives running to the meeting where he must present his final report. The rulers of the demon kings

00:03:43appear and tell him his performance has been a failure, since of all seven demon kings in the

00:03:48kingdom, his has been the worst, as he has done nothing of interest that benefits the demon kingdom.

00:03:54Merlin angrily tells them he is the only one who has defended the first demon king's palace.

00:03:58However, one of the demons present then reads out that Merlin always ends up destroying the palace

00:04:04among other things, meaning he actually owes a fortune to the kingdom. The demon also tells him

00:04:10that if he wants to resign as demon king, he will have to pay an enormous sum. Merlin ultimately ends

00:04:15up unemployed with a debt of approximately six, 66 trillion coins. After a long while, we see Merlin

00:04:22hiding in the palace when Lilith suddenly arrives and surprises him. At that moment, Merlin tells her he

00:04:28plans to leave the palace to show all those old fools that without him, they will be helpless

00:04:32and will need him back when things get worse. Because Merlin is acting completely unhinged,

00:04:37Lilith tells him she knows they probably fired him. Merlin tells her he would never have been fired and

00:04:43that he chose to resign himself. Lilith says sadly she knows he is a disaster and no one but her

00:04:48can put

00:04:49up with him, so she finally says she would like to stay with him. But when Merlin tells her the

00:04:53size

00:04:54of his debt, she ends up wishing him luck on his journey. Meanwhile, we see Alice manage to survive

00:04:59the attack and she thinks Merlin is a truly terrifying demon king, figuring that if not for

00:05:04her mithril armor she would have been reduced to pieces. Just then she senses someone nearby and plays

00:05:10dead. Lilith arrives and thinks there is a corpse in the area, surprised that someone was left intact

00:05:15after Merlin's attack. Lilith picks up Alice and thinks it is a shame that such a pretty face would

00:05:21turn to dust, so she decides it is best to take her home as a collector's doll. But just as

00:05:27she

00:05:27draws her scythe to cut Alice into pieces, Alice dodges the attack and tells Lilith she is going too

00:05:32far. Lilith starts laughing when she sees the girl was playing dead like a possum. Alice tries to get

00:05:38into a defensive stance but Lilith, very angry, says Alice made her look bad before the demon king,

00:05:44so she has no intention of letting her go. Alice gets very nervous knowing Merlin's attack left

00:05:49her badly wounded, so she launches an attack to distract Lilith and makes a run for it.

00:05:54This delights Lilith who knows they will now be playing cat and mouse, so she immediately

00:05:59summons two demon dogs and asks them to go hunt Alice down. In a scene change, Merlin arrives at the

00:06:04coast and realizes he needs to leave the demon continent. However, the attack he had performed

00:06:10completely destroyed the entire port, so he knows it will not be easy to escape from this place.

00:06:16Meanwhile, we see Alice running at full speed while having a memory of a conversation with her master,

00:06:21where the girl had reached elite level but it had not helped her at all so far.

00:06:25Her master had told her she might be strong among humans, but if she ever faced demons she would be

00:06:30quite weak compared to them. Alice had begged to be allowed to go to the snowy mountain but her

00:06:35master flatly refused, so Alice begins imagining everything she could achieve by leaving where she is.

00:06:42Back in the present, Alice runs at full speed, thinking her master was right since leaving home

00:06:47has been a complete ordeal. And after hiding, she thinks that when she manages to return she will

00:06:52train her abilities much harder. However, at that moment the monsters appear and after summoning her

00:06:57sword she manages to slash them, thinking she has won, only to be surprised when they merge into a

00:07:03far more powerful demon monster. With the girl pinned to the ground thinking she does not want to die,

00:07:08Merlin arrives and tells the dog to calm down. It immediately transforms into an adorable pet and

00:07:14Alice is stunned to see the demon king has come for her. Merlin thinks a fallen heroine like her

00:07:19could make an excellent slave, so after calling back his pet he tells her she now belongs to him.

00:07:25Alice initially refuses since she does not want her body to belong to the demon king,

00:07:29but Merlin tells her she has no choice, and he proceeds to throw her over his shoulder and

00:07:34carry her to a small boat. Very dismayed, Alice wonders how she ended up at such a low point in

00:07:40her life. Merlin looks at her with a creepy expression while telling her she now belongs to him.

00:07:45Alice tries to attack him with her sword but he blocks the attack with two fingers,

00:07:49so she knows she has no choice but to follow his orders. Merlin hands her an oar and tells her

00:07:54they

00:07:54are now heading to the land of light. After a while we see, Alice start to imagine having Merlin at

00:08:00her

00:08:00feet and making her master proud, but a splash of cold water snaps her back to reality as Merlin

00:08:06throws water on her face. He also tells her that being his servant is an absolute blessing,

00:08:12though Alice thinks it is the complete opposite. After several hours of rowing, we see Merlin start

00:08:17cooking meat in the middle of the boat. He also tells Alice she has been the most useless servant

00:08:22he has had so far. Alice gets angry and says if that is the case she quits and will not

00:08:27row anymore

00:08:27and they will both die in the middle of the sea. But she ends up giving in when tempted by

00:08:32the

00:08:32delicious grilled meat Merlin prepares. Just then, they are interrupted when several sharks

00:08:37begin surrounding them. Merlin tells her these little fish are nothing to him. Just as one of

00:08:42them is about to attack, Merlin intimidates them all with a single stare, causing every one of them

00:08:47to leave immediately. Alice very timidly tells him he made the most powerful creatures in the sea

00:08:52afraid of him. But Merlin with his enormous ego says he is currently the most powerful being in the

00:08:58area. Because a very foul smell reaches Merlin, Alice tells him it comes from dragon dung, mentioning

00:09:05it is one of the most expensive substances in the kingdom, which excites Merlin greatly since he knows

00:09:10he could make a huge amount of money from it. However, Alice tells him dragon dung has become very scarce

00:09:16lately. She tells him the kingdom has a sacred dragon from which it is extracted, but Merlin then pulls out

00:09:21a beast tamer object and a portal opens before them. We see there is a dragon Merlin keeps as a

00:09:27pet,

00:09:28and he thinks if he had known its dung was so valuable he would have already become completely

00:09:32wealthy. Alice is left in shock since that dragon actually belonged to her kingdom, but Merlin had

00:09:38managed to tame it with his incredible power when the army attacked. She cannot believe it since the

00:09:43sacred dragon is the most powerful creature in the entire kingdom. Merlin meanwhile thinks the dragon

00:09:49will come and carry them so they can head back to the castle, saying he will become the number one

00:09:54demon king in the rankings. While Merlin continued bragging about his ambitions, Alice threw some water

00:09:59on him, and his crystal ended up falling into the sea. Just then Merlin asks them to keep moving,

00:10:05and Alice says something strange is happening since the sea has suddenly gone completely still.

00:10:10Merlin says it is probably because an extremely powerful predator is lurking beneath them.

00:10:15We then see a powerful monster prostrate itself before them, and Alice nervously attacks it with

00:10:20her sword. However, the blade gets stuck in the creature's body and does absolutely no damage,

00:10:26which makes the monster angry and Merlin ends up saving her from falling into the water.

00:10:31Merlin politely asks the creature to become his servant and carry them to shore, but the very angry

00:10:36monster ends up spitting on both of them. Merlin gets annoyed with the monster and tells it that it is

00:10:41very rude. The monster then begins churning all the water and Merlin seeing it will not help draws

00:10:47his sword, and with a single slash finishes it off. Alice is astonished to see Merlin only needed one

00:10:53attack to defeat the monster. After several more hours, the two finally reach land and Merlin says

00:10:58his farewell. But before leaving he acts creepy and tells her she still owes him something very valuable.

00:11:04Alice gets scared and Merlin asks her to take off her armor, and we see him remove her armor

00:11:09thinking it could be worth something. He tells her he will take it as payment for saving her from the

00:11:13monster. After saying this, he runs off. Alice is left furious seeing she has only had her mithril

00:11:19armor stolen. In a scene change, we see Lilith eating a dessert and thinking her useless brother

00:11:25will return in a few days. Yes, at this moment we discover that Merlin and Lilith are siblings,

00:11:30and she thinks he will not last long and will come back crying to her. After some time,

00:11:35we see Alice arriving at the royal court where she is sentenced to pay 50 million gold coins

00:11:40for having lost the mithril armor. And after losing the battle along with all her troops,

00:11:45she is stripped of her title of heroine. Which causes her to lament everything she has lost.

00:11:50One year later, we see Alice rescuing a girl from a pirate group known as the Barbar Roja.

00:11:55However, the pirates mock her for being elite level since compared to her, they are sacred level.

00:12:00Just as they launch to attack, they receive an attack from Merlin who arrives at that moment.

00:12:04But because he overdid it, he does not even realize how easily he wiped them out.

00:12:09He then notices he is stepping on them and both pirates get angry with him.

00:12:13They also tell Merlin they will finish him right then and there.

00:12:17However, he draws his sword and with a single slash creates a massive explosion that wipes out

00:12:22even Alice's allies who had come to rescue them. All because of the tremendous power Merlin possesses

00:12:27and how handsome he is. Alice becomes completely lovesick,

00:12:31but since she did not remember him after a year had passed, she tries to speak with him,

00:12:35but he walks away. We then see Alice being interviewed and she mentions they now know Merlin as the

00:12:40criminal called Needblade. Several weeks later, Alice is watching television and comments that

00:12:46during all this time they have been running the same news story. And she thinks someone like Needblade

00:12:50could never be caught since the protagonist is clearly a wandering demon king. She is also pleased that

00:12:57she was paid 10,000 gold coins for taking out the pirates, but remembers she still owes the remaining

00:13:0249 million from the debt imposed on her at court. And starts fuming when she remembers Merlin only left

00:13:08her with a massive debt by stealing her armor. She also mentions she will now depend on guild missions

00:13:13to pay off her debt. She notices there is a mission to capture the man who has been helping people,

00:13:19but is seen as a criminal and thinks he looks a bit like Merlin, but immediately comes to her senses

00:13:25and believes it cannot be possible since Merlin would never act like a hero saving people the way

00:13:30he has been doing. She then mentions she needs to get going and starts venerating the portrait of the

00:13:35famous Needblade without knowing he is actually Merlin. So she expresses hope that Needblade will take care

00:13:41of Merlin himself. Back with Merlin, he mentions it has been a year since he left the demon palace.

00:13:47However, he admits he was a little careless since after selling the mithril armor the money only

00:13:52lasted a couple of months. He also figures he is now a wanted criminal, but gets annoyed when he

00:13:58sees the reward for catching him is only 5,000 coins, since he considers himself a much bigger

00:14:03villain who should command a far larger bounty. Merlin then starts walking and notices a village nearby,

00:14:10thinking he might be able to get something to eat. But some attackers appear before him and realize

00:14:15Merlin is very dangerous and mistake him for another criminal and ask him not to come into

00:14:19their territory to commit crimes. Since Merlin is quite broke they ask him to hand over his sword

00:14:25to sell as scrap, but Merlin threatens them by saying if he draws his sword they will cease to exist

00:14:30in

00:14:30this world. Both bandits start laughing non-stop thinking Merlin is just bluffing, and one of them

00:14:36throws an apple into the air and peels the skin off it with his dagger in a few cuts, thinking

00:14:40this will

00:14:41scare Merlin. But Merlin moves the man aside and after drawing his sword we see he splits him apart

00:14:47along with the mountain behind him. The second bandit thinks he is a monster and runs off. We also

00:14:52see the attackers were actually goblins in disguise using transformation magic. The goblin goes to his

00:14:58king, who we come to know as Sargos. The goblin explains that Merlin is a terrible person who defeated

00:15:04his companion very easily. Sargos starts laughing maniacally and mentions the humans have apparently broken the

00:15:10peace treaty, and he reveals that for a long time they have been doing this to set traps for humans

00:15:15and plunder them. He then orders all the goblins to go to the villages and plunder them as a consequence

00:15:21of what Merlin did. A couple of days later we see Merlin sending a message to Lilith saying he is

00:15:27having

00:15:27the time of his life in the land of light. However we see the reality is very different since Merlin

00:15:33has

00:15:33not been able to live decently. A few hours later we see Merlin arrive at a location where he beats

00:15:38up a

00:15:39shop guard. The shop owner tells him no one had ever beaten his guard before and is clearly

00:15:44amazed. However he then realizes Merlin is the person on the wanted posters and draws the attention of

00:15:50everyone around, so Merlin has no choice but to run to avoid standing out. We then see a boy cross

00:15:56paths with

00:15:56Merlin and offer him money if he teaches him something impressive, so Merlin very boastfully tells him what he is

00:16:02about to show is something out of this world. He half draws his sword and lands a small wind strike

00:16:07on him. The boy thinks he is being mocked, but Merlin tells him if he actually draws his sword

00:16:12fully the boy would be pulverized and asks him to hand over 10 gold coins. However the boy starts

00:16:18saying Merlin is just a talker who is probably a useless unemployed person. While the boy continues

00:16:24insulting him Merlin gets more and more annoyed, so he takes an ice cream he was bringing the boy and

00:16:29throws it on the ground. This makes the boy very sad and he thinks Merlin is a complete evil demon.

00:16:34After saying this Merlin leaves. In a parallel scene, Alice arrives with some people she was

00:16:40escorting. One of the girls asks why Alice had her heroine title taken away, but just as they are

00:16:45about to answer they are interrupted because a man is selling books about how Alice lived with the demon

00:16:50king. This makes Alice completely flustered and she says she only did it to survive and cross the

00:16:56continent. The man even mentions that Alice has now become the demon king's slave. Just then the

00:17:02girl who was with Alice tells her not to worry since everyone has a past they want to forget,

00:17:07but Alice says it is all just a misunderstanding. Seeing the man continues to say things about her,

00:17:12and the demon king she ends up getting upset and mentions she is now in the land of light.

00:17:17Just at that moment, the adventurers change the subject and mention they will go on a mission to

00:17:22deal with some goblin scene nearby. They also say that after finishing the mission,

00:17:27the knight and the girl will get married, and finally say they hope to see Alice again in the

00:17:32future. The girl tells Alice that despite any rumors about her and the demon king she thinks

00:17:37relationships between species are more common than Alice believes, but Alice feels very uncomfortable

00:17:42seeing they think she is actually in love with the demon king. The group then says goodbye to Alice,

00:17:48and she thinks catching the wanted criminal on the poster will be too easy and she will be able to

00:17:53relax for a while. In a scene change, we see Merlin eating and thinking that even though the food is

00:17:59unpleasant, he needs to finish it because he is hungry. Just as he tries to leave without paying

00:18:04a girl named Martha stops him and asks if he is trying to leave without paying. Merlin takes advantage of

00:18:10a job vacancy on offer and says he actually came to apply for the position. Merlin knows what to say

00:18:16to get

00:18:16hired, so he immediately starts making up many things he does not even know how to do. But because

00:18:21Martha thinks he needs to be more specific to work in a tavern Merlin, understands what she means so

00:18:26he uses his good looks and begins performing a dance in the tavern that makes even Martha go weak.

00:18:32And she very enchanted tells him she will hire him and pay him one gold coin plus commission on sales.

00:18:38Merlin is surprised to be paid so much, but Martha tells him he has two shifts, meaning he will

00:18:44essentially work the night shift seducing the female customers and selling many more drinks.

00:18:49Merlin is delighted with the job and just then the boy who had spoken with Merlin before arrives.

00:18:54We also meet him properly as Henry and he tries to speak badly about Merlin,

00:18:58but Martha immediately hits him to stop him from bothering her new worker.

00:19:02Finally, Martha says goodbye to Merlin and asks Henry to show him to his new room.

00:19:07While both of them walk to the room, Merlin asks Henry as a favor not to say anything to

00:19:12Martha about what happened between them. And in exchange, he would teach Henry his best ability.

00:19:17Henry thinks Merlin is just a talker who could never reach sacred level and mentions he is a fan

00:19:22of Needblade. Merlin clearly takes advantage of this since he knows the boy deeply admires

00:19:27Needblade without knowing that Needblade is him. Finally, after Henry finishes talking about

00:19:32everything he loves about Needblade, Merlin confesses he is the very criminal they are all looking for.

00:19:38Henry kicks him and tells him to stop insulting his idol. In a scene change, we see the adventure

00:19:44group was completely surrounded by goblins. A goblin sorceress named Gargamel hits them with a

00:19:49powerful attack that leaves the group on the ground. The knight tells Gargamel to spare his girlfriend's

00:19:55life and says she can do whatever she wants with him in exchange. Gargamel takes advantage of these

00:20:00words and tells him that if so she will spare him in exchange for a deal, which is not revealed

00:20:05to

00:20:05us at that moment. Several hours later we see Merlin finally start working at the tavern.

00:20:10But everyone gets annoyed because his customer service is poor, and he ends up throwing things

00:20:16at them except for one girl who even gave him a complimentary cake, and he did not care that

00:20:20she had a partner. Just then Merlin began a performance that sent all the girls wild,

00:20:26making the men very upset with him. A couple of days later Martha mentions that since Merlin

00:20:30arrived her sales have tripled and tells him he is very popular among the girls in the town.

00:20:36Also since she mentions she could make him known at a national level, Merlin becomes very very nervous

00:20:41since he does not want to be known as the demon king who sold himself for money. So he turns

00:20:46on all

00:20:47his charm toward Martha to make sure that does not happen. Just then Henry arrives and gets upset

00:20:52with Merlin for trying to win over his mother, since at that moment we learn the girl is Henry's mother,

00:20:57and Henry threatens Merlin by telling him he will kill him if he gets involved with his mother.

00:21:03Henry immediately leaves the tavern and goes to punch a tree out of fury at seeing his mother and Merlin

00:21:08together. We then see Alice arrive and ask Henry if he has seen the person in the portrait.

00:21:13The boy says yes and adds that he has been living in the tavern and misleading the women.

00:21:18The villagers also arrive and tell Alice to help them since the wives of several men have been spending

00:21:24all their money on Merlin, and they even offer to pay her to give him a beating.

00:21:29Alice has no choice but to head to the tavern and is surprised to see many excited girls around Merlin.

00:21:35She compares the smile in the portrait with Merlin's smile and realizes he is the criminal

00:21:39she has been looking for, so she tries to get close to him to confront him and is spotted by

00:21:44Merlin.

00:21:45Merlin starts dancing with her but accidentally pulls off his mask,

00:21:49and Alice is surprised to see it is the demon king, so she starts attacking him on the spot.

00:21:55Merlin neutralizes her and asks her to please calm down since after all they had not gotten along so

00:21:59badly together. But Alice starts making a scene and cries like a child. And because she makes an

00:22:05insinuation all the girls think Merlin is a bad person for abandoning her at the beach. After a while

00:22:10the two are in Merlin's room and Alice goes completely wild demanding he return her armor.

00:22:16But Merlin tells her it was scrap he sold for 10 million coins and spending no time on women and

00:22:21food. This makes the girl furious and she tells him she will capture him. Merlin smiles and tells

00:22:27her to try since not even the strongest creature in the ocean could defeat him. This disappoints Alice,

00:22:32who thinks she will spend the rest of her life in debt with 50 million owed. Very depressed she mentions

00:22:38that because of the debt she had to join the Adventurers Guild and take very risky missions to try

00:22:43to pay it off. Merlin finds the idea of earning money by joining the Adventurers Guild quite appealing,

00:22:49but Alice gets even more furious since she thinks he is a complete fool. In a scene change we see

00:22:54Henry

00:22:55arrive at the village guard post, and the guards scold him for being outside so late. Just then the

00:23:01knight who is friends with Alice arrives from outside and asks all the guards to please open up,

00:23:05telling them his group ended up dying and they are badly wounded. The guards think about it for a

00:23:10moment and end up letting them in. But we then see the goblins are accompanied by Gargamel,

00:23:15and they begin attacking the city since this was the plan she had proposed and despite the knight

00:23:19having gone along with it, she ends up hitting him with a fireball anyway. Meanwhile Alice comes

00:23:25out very indignant with Merlin knowing her reward is impossible since no one can capture a demon king.

00:23:31She also finds it absurd that he now puts on performances at a bar and wants to become an

00:23:35adventurer. She is also disappointed since she wanted to meet Needblade and instead ran into

00:23:41the demon king. Alice's anger is interrupted when she notices fire in several houses of the village,

00:23:47so she immediately heads out to the location. Several goblins arrive at the tavern and Merlin defeats

00:23:53them very easily. This drives all the girls wild with how manly Merlin is. Martha then tells Merlin she

00:23:59is going out to look for her son since he has not returned. More goblins arrive and after defeating them,

00:24:05Merlin picks up his sword and thinks they should go protect Martha since if she gets killed,

00:24:09he will clearly not get paid. Martha arrives looking for her son and seeing several goblins coming,

00:24:15she creates a distraction to lead them away from her son. However, she ends up tripping and the

00:24:20goblins manage to capture her. Meanwhile, Merlin thinks all this chaos reminds him of the demon kingdom.

00:24:26Several goblins then start appearing and because they try to attack Merlin, he defeats all of them.

00:24:31Just then Alice arrives and tells him she knows he brought the goblins to the village,

00:24:36but Merlin very proudly says he would never ally with such weak monsters and starts walking to look

00:24:41for Martha. However, Alice tells him that if he wants to be an adventurer, he will need to help

00:24:57need him and will finish off all the goblins herself. After defeating several of them,

00:25:02we see the girls start to get surrounded by many more. So she uses a powerful ice skill on the

00:25:07ground and manages to block one of the fire attacks that Gargamel launches when she appears at the

00:25:12location. Alice warns Gargamel to immediately withdraw with her entire army, but Gargamel tells

00:25:18her that even as an elite adventurer she cannot handle her whole army and orders them to finish Alice off.

00:25:24But just then another goblin falls before Gargamel and reports there is an extremely powerful figure

00:25:30in the area, clearly referring to Merlin, so she immediately orders a retreat. After a while,

00:25:35we see Alice's friend the knight manage to survive and comes along with her. Everyone gets angry with

00:25:41him since he was the one who tricked them into letting the goblins in. However, Alice defends him

00:25:45and says he had no choice since they had his family held hostage, and instead of blaming each other,

00:25:50they should go rescue them immediately. Since the villagers did not recognize Alice,

00:25:55she introduces herself as the famous heroine number 233. However, everyone starts gossiping

00:26:01and mentions she is the heroine who had a romance with the demon king. Finally, after saying several

00:26:07things and punching a man who tried to hit her, she leaves to save the people. Henry also tells

00:26:12everyone they are all cowards who are afraid when danger shows up, and he heads to the tavern to get

00:26:17his

00:26:17sword. We then see two goblins are at the location and they hit Henry and are about to kill him

00:26:23when

00:26:23Merlin appears in front of the tavern looking very angry. Shortly after Merlin scolds Henry for being

00:26:29outside so late, but Henry is desperate to save his mother and says Alice is already heading there

00:26:34and he plans to go with her. This is because he does not want his mother to die, and at

00:26:39that moment

00:27:28clearly referring to Alice and Merlin, and that is why she made a strategic retreat in order to bring

00:27:33back the captured humans. Gargamel knows the humans will come to rescue the hostages,

00:27:38so she has set several traps. Back with Merlin, we see they have finally arrived outside the cave,

00:27:43and Henry starts running toward it, but is stopped by Merlin since a fire barrier activates and surrounds

00:27:49him. Gargamel comes out and mocks them saying it is elite-level magic that will not be easy to escape.

00:27:55However, Merlin begins crossing through it and catches fire. Gargamel and the goblins start mocking

00:28:00Merlin thinking he has been reduced to ashes, but he appears behind her, and she is left in complete shock

00:28:05since not even elite or sacred-level warriors could cross it. When Gargamel asks his name Merlin knows,

00:28:12he cannot give his real name so he uses the alias from the tavern, and the rest of the goblins

00:28:17completely wild over him. Which makes Gargamel furious since she cannot detect his magic,

00:28:22and wonders how on earth he crossed the fire barrier. Merlin at this point tries to make peace

00:28:27and charm her to calm her down. But because she gets nervous, she says she will finish him off and

00:28:32uses the most powerful attack she has. She launches it and it hits Merlin. Very confident she thinks

00:28:38no one could survive that attack, but Merlin with a simple sneeze undoes the entire attack and

00:28:44counterattacks all the enemies. He also approaches Gargamel and with a single finger flick hits her

00:28:49with a blow that sends her crashing into the rocks, which causes the fire barrier surrounding his

00:28:55companions to deactivate at that moment. This leaves everyone astonished, and they imagine Merlin must be

00:29:01none other than the kneed blade they all admire. In a parallel scene, Alice manages to infiltrate

00:29:06and rescue the girl from the village, but several goblins appear and she finishes them off. Alice

00:29:11then arrives at the throne room and Sargos tells her that Gargamel led her through so he could be

00:29:16entertained by her. Alice realizes he is a sacred level opponent and knows he is extremely powerful.

00:29:22Sargos then launches himself at Alice and manages to land a hit on her despite her using her ice shield.

00:29:28Sargos then looms over her planning to finish her off. Meanwhile, Merlin starts searching all over

00:29:33the cave for Martha. He gets extremely stressed seeing hundreds of tunnels inside the cave.

00:29:38Back with Alice, the girl manages to dodge an attack from Sargos, and he tells her it is a miracle

00:29:43she

00:29:44withstood his blow since the impact should have broken a couple of her bones. And even though she is quite

00:29:49resilient, he tells her she could never beat him in combat. Alice then charges a powerful attack against

00:29:55the goblins, and after a series of combined strikes they think she finished him off. But we see Sargos

00:30:00is still alive and all his wounds are regenerating, and he even appears much stronger than before.

00:30:06At that moment Sargos lands an attack on her that pierces through her ice shield,

00:30:10leaving Alice completely wounded. Meanwhile Merlin manages to find Martha and the rest of the girls,

00:30:16and immediately defeats several goblins that were following her. Martha begs him to please go back and save

00:30:22Alice, since Alice was the distraction that allowed the girls to escape. Even though she knows Merlin

00:30:27and Alice do not get along she asks him as a favor, so at that moment Merlin starts having a

00:30:32conversation

00:30:33with his inner angel and demon. Finally Martha tells him she will triple his salary this month,

00:30:38and Merlin does not hesitate to accept, though one of the girls then tells Merlin not to enter the

00:30:43King's Hall which is full of gold coins. His eyes light up with greed at knowing he could have a

00:30:48massive

00:30:49amount of money, so he runs off at full speed. Meanwhile we see Sargos has Alice pinned, and at

00:30:54that moment Merlin arrives. Merlin is delighted to see the place is indeed full of gold. Sargos is

00:31:00furious hearing Merlin say all that gold now belongs to him. Merlin, very annoyed by the goblin,

00:31:06tears Alice away from him and cuts off one of his limbs. Merlin also worries about Alice seeing she

00:31:12is clearly very wounded, so he sets her down on the ground to rest while he deals with Sargos.

00:31:16At that moment Sargos acts as if Merlin has beaten him, but immediately regenerates his

00:31:22arm with his magic and realizes Merlin is very calm, which makes him think and recall that this

00:31:27is the human Gargamel had mentioned. The goblin then summons his staff and begins attacking Merlin,

00:31:44into Merlin. But Merlin catches it with a single hand. He also tells Sargos he always thought his

00:31:50sister Lilith was a pretty pathetic sacred level fighter until he met Sargos just now.

00:31:56Since Merlin draws his sword the goblin is immediately terrified, knowing it is the sword

00:32:00only a demon king could draw. So Merlin, without thinking twice, hits him with a powerful attack that

00:32:06defeats him. But because he did not control his power it hits one of the walls and the place begins

00:32:11to

00:32:11collapse. So Merlin's inner demon advises him to save the girl since that way he can have a steady

00:32:16income from the Adventurers Guild. Merlin has no choice but to save the girl while crying in sadness

00:32:22over losing this incredible treasure. Merlin finally makes it out and Henry is delighted and thanks

00:32:28Merlin for saving Alice. But inside Merlin is sobbing at having lost billions of gold coins,

00:32:34since with that he could have paid off the debt to the demon council and returned to the demon palace.

00:32:38A few hours later we see Merlin watching over Alice in his room. Since the girl is seriously wounded,

00:32:45he thinks she cannot die since he literally gave up a fortune just to save her so she could recommend

00:32:49him to the Adventurers Guild. He comes up with a plan and begins undressing Alice. But just then

00:32:55Martha and Henry come in and Martha thinks Merlin should be doing intimate things with Alice,

00:33:00so she immediately covers her son's eyes and leaves them alone. We then see Merlin begin applying

00:33:05his saliva on the girl's body since it appears to be highly curative. He explains that succubus saliva

00:33:11is very effective and heals injuries on people of the opposite sex. And after healing Alice we see

00:33:17she is feeling much better and is dreaming that she is going on a date with a knight who looks

00:33:21like Merlin.

00:33:22Finally Merlin knows it will be a long night and he cannot even sleep. The next day we see Alice

00:33:27wake

00:33:28up and her adventurer friends arrive. However, one of the girls seeing her slightly undressed helps cover her up.

00:33:34Alice mentions she only remembers being hit by a blow from the Goblin King. The girl explains that

00:33:39Merlin was the one who saved her and Alice cannot believe what she is hearing since they are natural

00:33:44enemies and Merlin would never save her as if he were need blade. Finally the girl tells her that

00:33:50apparently they heard her making sounds all night long. This is because Alice was dreaming about Merlin

00:33:55all night and was clearly very excited in the dream and laughing in real life, which made everyone

00:34:01think Merlin and she were doing something intimate, causing Alice to immediately get furious with

00:34:05Merlin. Back with Merlin he arrives at a village meeting where the adventurer who had guided them

00:34:10and was a coward is presenting himself as the hero. However, upon seeing Merlin he gets very nervous

00:34:16and immediately runs off at full speed. Meanwhile a reporter is also at the location and Merlin likewise

00:34:53completely unconscious. Merlin asks if Sargos damaged her brain since he only removed her clothes to

00:34:59apply his curative saliva. After explaining it, Alice asks why the neighbor heard her making noises then.

00:35:06Merlin says it was probably because she was dreaming since it appears succubus saliva not only heals,

00:35:11but also makes people dream romantic things about others. Which makes Alice embarrassed as she hears

00:35:17Merlin teasing her and saying Alice was declaring her love and calling the person in her dream very

00:35:22handsome. This makes the girl set her pride aside and end up thanking Merlin. But Merlin refuses to

00:35:28accept her thanks since losing a mountain of gold to save her was pointless to him, so he tells her

00:35:45people beginning to say their goodbyes to both of them since the Adventurers Guild is in another city.

00:35:49Finally, Merlin asks Henry to grow very strong so he can take care of his mother.

00:35:55After climbing into the carriage, Alice says goodbye to Martha who teases her saying she hopes she gets

00:35:59married to Merlin very soon. Because the carriage moves at that moment, Alice ends up tumbling into

00:36:45Merlin looks at the board with all the available missions and is happy to see a rank a mission to

00:36:50eliminate the undead, which pays 100 gold coins plus 5,000 extra if the work stands out.

00:36:56Just then the guild receptionist appears and Alice tells her she has brought Merlin.

00:37:00The girl thinks Merlin is quite friendly and very handsome and asks Alice if he is her boyfriend.

00:37:06Alice very indignantly says she would never think of him as handsome much less as her boyfriend.

00:37:11Unexpectedly, Alice pulls out the wanted poster for Merlin and tells the receptionist she has

00:37:16brought him and now wants her reward, leaving Merlin very confused and immediately angry at her for

00:37:21setting a trap. However, Alice tells him she wants the reward to reduce her debt a little and also wants

00:37:27Merlin to become an adventurer to help her pay off the debt. Finally, the receptionist brings out a

00:37:32crystal ball to measure Merlin's power and begins explaining how each adventure rank works.

00:37:38Merlin considers all the ranks far too weak for him, so the receptionist mentions there is a rank

00:37:43reserved for people beyond the ordinary. Merlin all puffed up tells her to assign him the amethyst rank

00:37:49right away, but they are interrupted when a friend of Alice arrives and asks if she is now bringing a

00:37:54boy along, and then another man enters who appears to be in love with Alice. He introduces himself as

00:38:00Arnold, son of a famous count, and mentions that Alice has rejected him many times. Alice explains

00:38:06neither Merlin nor she have any relationship with each other, but Arnold gets angry with Merlin and

00:38:12thinks he is taking advantage of her, so he challenges Merlin to a duel for a date with her.

00:38:17Merlin says he is not interested, but Arnold acts like a total Romeo with Alice and she ends up

00:38:22punching him since he does not seem to care about what she thinks. Arnold then launches himself at

00:38:27Merlin, but with a single move Merlin sends him flying into the ceiling. Alice thinks he

00:38:32went a little too far, but ends up enjoying watching that braggart get beaten. Just then,

00:38:36a mysterious figure arrives looking very imposing before everyone. Unlike Merlin who says he thinks

00:38:41the man is completely weak, Alice, terrified, asks Merlin not to get involved with him. We then see the

00:38:48man goes to register at the Adventurers Guild, and after touching the crystal ball, a light begins to

00:38:53emanate, and everyone is shocked to see he is a sacred level adventurer, the first one to appear

00:38:58in a very long time according to them. Merlin then asks the man to step aside since it is now

00:39:04his turn,

00:39:04and he will teach everyone to respect higher ranks. Before touching the sphere Merlin starts imagining

00:39:10everyone idolizing him, but Alice asks him to hurry up, and we then see him touch the sphere and

00:39:15absolutely nothing happens. Everyone in the place thinks Merlin is a complete weakling who does not

00:39:20even possess magic. The mysterious man prefers to leave, and Merlin tells everyone that his power

00:39:26is truly beyond all of them. But the receptionist tells him he does not even possess the minimum

00:39:43Merlin starts telling everyone that if they do not accept him it will be the worst decision they ever

00:39:48make. This makes everyone mock him, so Merlin asks them to bring their strongest adventurer and he will

00:39:53defeat them. Just then the elder appears, who is the guild leader. He tells Merlin he should accept

00:39:59his request since he might be telling the truth. Alice tells them the elder was a sacred level adventurer

00:40:04and is a legendary figure in the city. They then head to the training ground, and the elder tells Merlin

00:40:11that

00:40:11many people have challenged him to a duel, and none of them have been able to defeat him so far.

00:40:16However, he tells Merlin he only needs to demonstrate great strength without necessarily beating him,

00:40:21and that will be enough to be accepted into the guild. Merlin seems to pay his words no mind,

00:40:27and tells the elder to attack him with everything he has. However, the elder says it is better if

00:40:32Merlin attacks him instead since without magic or combat aura it is better to receive the attack. So

00:40:38Merlin draws his sword and strikes him with a slash that leaves the elder in complete shock.

00:40:43Meanwhile, Alice thinks she hopes the guild leader does not beat Merlin too badly,

00:40:47but then a massive explosion erupts across the entire area and people think the elder must be

00:40:52going overboard with Merlin. Merlin then comes out and Alice asks if he did not split the elder in two,

00:40:58but Merlin replies he would never do that since he needs the elder alive to vouch for his power.

00:41:04At that moment Merlin starts to leave and we see the elder has wet himself and is trembling with fear,

00:41:09telling the receptionist he has never seen anyone as dangerous as Merlin in his life.

00:41:14After a while Merlin mentions he was accepted but given the lowest rank.

00:41:18Alice says it is a miracle he was accepted without magic or adventurer aura, but Merlin only cares that

00:41:24he now has his adventurer rank so he asks Alice to handle getting the missions while he takes care of

00:41:29defeating any sacred level opponents. Which causes Alice to end up furious with him. After a while Merlin is

00:41:36very annoyed because Alice refused to work with him, but he realizes he has no money to eat and

00:41:41nowhere to stay so he heads to Alice's house where she is showering. She comes out to see what was

00:41:47going on and finds Merlin in her house, but just as she is about to hit him her towel falls

00:41:51and she

00:41:52ends up naked in front of Merlin. Shortly after Merlin asks to form a team but she refuses and throws

00:41:58him

00:41:58out of the house. Merlin starts making a scene outside the house and everyone starts feeling sorry for

00:42:04him since he says it seems a girl has abandoned him. Alice cannot take any more of it and ends

00:42:09up letting him back in. After a long conversation we see Merlin settled into Alice's bed as if he were

00:42:14in his own home, just then Alice trips and ends up falling on top of Merlin. He thinks the bed

00:42:20is too

00:42:20small for both of them, so with an ability he puts the girl to sleep and makes her spend the

00:42:25night on

00:42:26the floor. The next day they are both at the Adventurers Guild and Arnold comes to accept that he

00:42:31could not win the duel, so he hands Merlin the mission to kill the undead and tells him the best

00:42:36man will be able to keep Alice. Merlin replies he has no interest in the love of a grumpy girl

00:42:41but does want the payment amount. However, the receptionist tells Merlin that due to his rank he

00:42:46cannot take that mission and will need a companion of a higher level. Merlin asks Alice if she wants

00:42:52to team up, but she vengefully says she will team up with Arnold instead. Merlin is left very thoughtful

00:42:58since he wants to earn the mission money and needs to find a companion. He then spots the man who

00:43:03had

00:43:03been talking with them, who we come to know as Hoops. Seeing he is a bit drunk, Merlin ends up

00:43:08using

00:43:09him to accept the mission and Hoops wakes up in a carriage next to Merlin. Merlin informs him they have

00:43:14accepted the rank a mission to exterminate the undead. Hoops becomes completely nervous seeing it is

00:43:20practically a suicide mission. Merlin tells him there is nothing to fear since the undead are the weakest

00:43:25monsters they could face. Just then they are interrupted when the Knights of the Rose arrive

00:43:30to ask them for directions. Because one of them acts arrogant he ends up cracking his whip at Merlin,

00:43:35but Merlin stops it easily and even knocks him off his horse. Hoops nervously tells Merlin they all

00:43:41serve the Duke of the Rose. Merlin without flinching tells him if they are polite he himself will teach

00:43:46them manners. The Knight very furiously says this is an insult to the Duke and challenges him to a duel,

00:43:51but everyone is interrupted when a stampede of fire rhinoceroses charges toward them.

00:43:56The Knights of the Rose go on alert and mention they should protect the Duke's daughter. Merlin

00:44:01becomes somewhat thoughtful and believes it is not normal for fire rhinoceroses to come charging in

00:44:06a stampede, which means something happened at the place they were heading. Merlin then moves forward and

00:44:12manages to stop one of the monsters. We also see him prepare to deal with the rest of them. We

00:44:17then see

00:44:17rhinoceros that Merlin stopped change direction causing all the rest to follow. The Knight is

00:44:22shocked since fire rhinoceroses never change direction once they are charging. Hoops tells

00:44:27him he does not know what they did but they came out victorious. The Knight also thanks Merlin for

00:44:32saving the Duke's daughter. At that moment the Duke's daughter named Cecilia steps out. She approaches

00:44:38Merlin and tells him the Knights of the Rose value powerful people like him despite his low rank,

00:44:43and she wants to hire him by paying him 10,000 gold coins. Merlin tells her she truly does not

00:44:49know his real value since if she pays his debt of six, 66 trillion coins he could consider working

00:44:54for her. After hearing his price everyone obviously leaves immediately. Meanwhile Cecilia thinks they

00:45:01need to reach Davishere before Arnold to deal with the undead crisis since Cecilia wants to impress her

00:45:06father. On the other side we see Alice and Arnold heading out accompanied by the mysterious figure

00:45:11known as Claude. Alice tells him the only adventurer she is interested in is Needblade.

00:45:17Arnold and Alice tell Claude that Needblade is the most powerful figure in their entire kingdom,

00:45:21but Claude dismisses this since defeating a couple of sacred level pirates is nothing to him.

00:45:27He also mentions that the truly strongest warriors of the kingdom are known as the four heroes of the

00:45:32former empire and begins explaining each one of them. The first is Corona, known as the Dragon Slayer.

00:45:37Then there are the sword saints Zoe and Joey. There is also a figure named Bernard who is known as

00:45:43the

00:45:44Storm Warrior, so Claude considers these four the strongest and most legendary of all time.

00:45:49At that moment they are interrupted by a warning that the fire rhinoceros stampede is heading toward

00:45:54them, and we then see Claude step out and with a single slash defeats all of them. Claude thinks

00:46:00rhinoceroses do not usually get frightened and charge in a herd like this, which means only a very powerful

00:46:05being could have scared them. In a scene change, we see Merlin resting with two girls at his side.

00:46:11At that moment Hoops tells him Alice is coming and she gets grumpy with Merlin and ends up hitting him.

00:46:55walks away. Arnold then tells Merlin that before tomorrow's confrontation he will share a secret with him.

00:47:01He mentions the undead incident was caused by opening a tomb in the forest which summoned a chancellor of

00:47:06the former empire and tells Merlin that whoever defeats this chancellor will be the greatest hero of

00:47:11this era. He also warns that the monster is at sacred level. On the other side we see Alice walking

00:47:17very angrily through the area and wondering if there might be any undead near where she is. She suddenly

00:47:23senses Claude's presence as he moves through a forest while keeping himself hidden. She decides to follow him

00:47:29and we see Claude open a dark portal and begin speaking with someone who appears to be the former

00:47:34king of the previous empire. So Alice wonders if he is speaking with one of the legendary heroes.

00:47:39But she accidentally steps on a branch and Claude becomes aware of her presence. Claude immediately

00:47:45goes to Alice and acts as though he saw nothing. He starts acting as if she is drunk and asks

00:47:50to go

00:47:50have a drink somewhere. Once she leaves he is relieved. She noticed nothing and mentions she used a spying

00:47:56spell when she tripped and touched his cloak. Claude then continues talking to the king and says the

00:48:01plan to get close to the chancellor's tomb is proceeding successfully. The king tells him the

00:48:06chancellor was a very powerful sorcerer who eventually became his lick. Also since 400 years have passed since

00:48:12then the lick must be extremely powerful. The king finally tells him he must obtain one of the keys the

00:48:17lick possesses. And Claude tells him he will defeat the monster to obtain the key and fulfill the king's

00:48:23desire to restore the former empire. Alice thinks she has heard something important and must do

00:48:27something about it. But since Claude is very powerful she does not know what to do. For a

00:48:33moment she considers asking Merlin for help but gets annoyed even at the thought of him mocking her.

00:48:38So she decides she will handle it herself. On the other side we see Cecilia arrives at the

00:48:43entrance to the labyrinth where the tomb chancellor is located. So without wasting time they decide to go

00:48:48inside. Claude also begins following them thinking they will be dead if they get lost. Alice is also

00:49:28first so he sets off at full speed since he cannot allow her to take his 5,000 gold coins.

00:49:33In a scene

00:49:34change we see Claude eliminating several undead and Alice following him. Alice also notices Claude seems to

00:49:40know the labyrinth extremely well since he even knows every secret passage. After going deeper inside

00:49:46they see him arrive at the tomb of the chancellor and out of it comes the sorcerer known as Lan.

00:49:51At that moment Claude reveals he is actually the storm warrior known as Bernard and tells Lan that

00:49:57the rest of the four heroes have also been revived by the prince. Claude tells Lan they want to restore

00:50:02the former empire so he politely asks him to hand over the key. But Lan refuses since the empire had

00:50:07fallen because the king ignored all his warnings. Lan also mentions he has been dedicating himself to

00:50:13learning new spells and conjurations. He also says the king made a pact with the demon and ended up

00:50:36through the labyrinth corridors and gets desperate seeing they all look completely identical. He then has an

00:50:42idea and remembers labyrinths have their final bosses at the end so he charges a powerful blow at the

00:50:47ground and jumps down without thinking to descend. Meanwhile we see Cecilia's group start to worry about

00:50:53the large number of undead appearing. One of them recommends retreating but she says they cannot since

00:50:59she does not want to disappoint her father. Suddenly sacred level monsters appear at the location and

00:51:04carry out a massacre. Even Cecilia's lead knight takes a hit from them. He tells her to run since it

00:51:10is his

00:51:10duty to defend her and launches himself into combat against several undead. Cecilia then starts crying

00:52:20he only wants money so he tells her she should give him the 10,000 gold coins she offered earlier.

00:52:26He then

00:52:26takes the girl and her knight and pins them high up on the wall and tells them the undead will

00:52:31not reach them

00:52:31up there and he will come for them after. In a scene change Lan and Claude continue fighting

00:52:37and we see both of their levels are extremely high as they both land abilities that have little

00:52:41effect on each other. Finally Claude uses his maximum sacred level ability which Lan counters

00:52:47and then lands a hit on him. Claude also performs a summoning at that moment and the king of giants

00:52:53appears. Lan knows Bernard is strong but asks if he can fight two sacred level opponents at once

00:52:59and both begin charging their combat aura but they are interrupted when Merlin arrives at the

00:53:04location declaring the great hero has arrived. Merlin scolds Claude and tells him it is not fair

00:53:09they came ahead to collect the reward but is glad to see Lan is still alive and the prize cannot

00:55:00use his real power and activates his true forbidden skill called rogue sacrifice. He takes on a far more

00:55:07powerful form and mentions his next attack will be 100 times greater but in exchange his body will suffer

00:55:13enormously making it what could be called a double-edged technique. Finally he summons several

00:55:18clones and throws everything he has at Merlin but Merlin with a single sword movement wipes out all the

00:55:23clones. Claude at that moment thinks that attack equals 100 sacred levels at the same time and wonders

00:59:52caught up with him. After a long while both of them are at Alice's house and are not very happy

00:59:57other. They start arguing over who will take the bed and reach an agreement to take turns by day.

01:03:37as Alina had apparently recognized Merlin's power. Just then a voice begins to sound and Merlin is

01:03:44amazed to see the fourth demon queen Asmodeus is there. Merlin calls her the queen of lust and asks

01:03:49why she opened a nightclub in this place. She tells him the economy was a bit rough so she had

01:03:54no other

01:03:55option. Merlin is also not very happy to hear that since he was kicked out of the palace her economy

01:04:00has grown considerably. Merlin very proudly tells her he has now been living his best life.

01:05:29but to accept what Alice says. After settling down Alice tells him that tomorrow she will go to the

01:05:34astrology tower of the adventurers guild since there is a girl there who could evaluate the key Merlin

01:05:39obtained. In a parallel scene we see Corona arrive at a frozen location and break a seal of several

01:06:58light. Vinci asks them to leave the key so she can analyze it with some ancient texts. So Alice takes

01:07:04Merlin away and tells him she fully trusts Vinci. Meanwhile Vinci tells Chloe she has a bad feeling

01:07:10about this since the key's aura is very strange and she senses something is about to open. Back with Merlin

01:07:15while he is writing a letter to his sister he suddenly feels a pain in his chest. This is due

01:07:21to the curse he carries. Meanwhile Alice is at the guild talking with hoops about Merlin. When Merlin

01:07:26arrives in a hurry he goes straight to look through the missions and Alice approaches to see what is

01:08:37power. The dragon is angry at her for freeing him just to destroy a simple village, but Corona tells

01:08:44him there is a very powerful enemy she needs eliminated. Despite this, it tells her it will

01:08:48travel to Raxa to destroy the village. Corona tells it that even though it is a divine being it should

01:10:18and Alice says they will help her anyway. They then arrive with the village chief and other people

01:10:23who are trying to break the iceberg the dragon created with its breath. The chief mentions one of

01:10:28the six legendary dragons was responsible for this. Merlin gets very excited since it was worth

01:10:34coming all this way and immediately starts laughing like a madman causing everyone to think Merlin is

01:10:45all the ice in one second leaving everyone completely stunned. Later that night the villagers prepare a

01:10:51dinner for them and Merlin does not stop eating. The chief apologizes for having thought badly of

01:10:56them and thanks them for their help. Merlin tells him he appreciates the gesture but should give him

01:11:01ten times the reward that was written. Alice immediately calms him down and tells the chief

01:11:06that Merlin only handles defeating the monsters. All other negotiation matters are handled by her.

01:11:12The chief sarcastically says they have not even discussed the reward yet but Alice tells him his

01:11:17daughter sent a letter with the reward amount. This makes the chief laugh since he says his daughter

01:11:21does not even know how to write. Corona not wanting to be discovered gets Alice's attention and says

01:11:27they have hot springs so she ends up taking Merlin and Alice away from the location. Shortly after

01:11:33while the two are in the hot springs Corona tries to search through all of Merlin's belongings for the

01:11:38key but finding nothing she decides it is time for plan B. Meanwhile Merlin tries to get closer to Alice

01:11:44and she gets annoyed since she does not want him near her while they are both bathing. Merlin changes the

01:11:50subject and tells her he may be able to help her level up after completing this mission.

01:11:55Since he mentions that if they defeat the dragon it could give them a core which is a kind of

01:11:59crystallized legacy that dragons carry and if she were to consume one she could obtain the magical

01:12:04power and abilities of a divine dragon. Making it a sacred treasure not everyone can have. Alice

01:12:10becomes sentimental seeing Merlin has been acting like a true knight and will give her the crystal

01:12:15thinking perhaps he has fallen for her. However Merlin makes it clear he is already at maximum

01:12:20level and only wants her to level up so she can accept s-rank missions. Alice also tells him not

01:12:26to think about falling for her since Alice likes someone else and since Merlin sarcastically asks who
