06:18What's your advocacy coming into this competition?
06:20My advocacy is focused more on youth volunteerism and civic engagement.
06:24So, I am a member of a youth organization in Lauang, my municipality.
06:31It's called Giyos Kabataan.

06:33So, mostly, we mostly host or like do activities concerning the youth.
06:42Example, we have our LYS, it's Lauang Youth Summit.
06:47It's the biggest youth gathering in Northern Summer.
06:51And now, some of the municipalities and even the province do it as well na.
06:56So, it's about empowering the youth, educating them, and also, parang reminding them to enjoy their youth as well.
07:06Ang ganda nung LYS ninyo, I wonder to know, what gaps or issues yung mga na-address natin right after
07:12doing the summit?
07:14I feel that after that, parang mas naging active yung SK.
07:19Kasi, di ba, here in the Philippines, it has been like a long-going issue na some of the youth
07:26doesn't trust our SK officials anymore.
07:30But in my municipality, I am proud to say.
07:34Yes, I am proud to say that there is an active participation of the youth, especially our Sanggoni Ang Kabataan.

08:22But coming into this competition, ever since my father passed away, I am now trying to shift my focus on

08:47It is very relevant because up until now, there are still a lot of issues that we need to address
08:53when it comes to climate change.
08:55And it is, parang mas lumalala siya as time goes by.
08:59So it's very important that we evoke eco-consciousness, especially to the youth, so that we can change this.

09:23I'm Lyra Ponsalen.
09:24So my advocacy is kind of like revolve with what I'm currently working on as an entrepreneur, courtside reporter, host,
09:33and a youth advocate.

09:38Parang pwede siya maging host na Horizon Charlie.

09:44I host for the MPBL.
09:47So it's for the whole league.
09:49So my advocacy, I'm a founding member of Youth Activating Youth in my province.
09:54So a little bit relevant also with Gisela, it's for youth empowerment through education.
10:01Because it's, you know, out of school youth, there's a rising numbers talaga that's very alarming.
10:09So we focus more on children, connecting them with the resources needed through foundations as well.
10:14And upskilling them through leadership training, community engagement.
10:18Because we believe that for every child that we get to empower, you know, it's important to give them a
10:24sense of belongingness.
10:25And when they feel that they belong, they feel their dreams become alive as well.
10:29And as a courtside reporter and a communications graduate, I also advocate for media literacy.
10:34Especially in the rise of AI, which is a double-edged sword as we all know.
10:40And sustainable ecotourism through my businesses naman in Rizal, which involves adventure packages that promote sustainable ecotourism.

11:11I think me personally, the most challenging thing was since I'm from California,
11:18coming back home to another country without a team and handling a lot of things all at once.
11:25And just kind of figuring everything step by step, day by day.
11:29Kasi this pageant would only last two weeks.
11:32So everything happened super fast.
11:35But even though it was super tiring, it was also super fun as well.
11:39Mugya really took care of their candidates, their girls.
11:42We had princess treatment along the way.
11:45It was such a blessing to just experience it all.
