00:00Well, a huge welcome to the remarkable.
00:06Our opponent is in the final.
00:08That is a remarkable turn against two-time Olympic medalist
00:14and former world champion Pusala Vinkata Sindhu.
00:39Pushed it wide.
00:42Matches were won purely on fighting spirits
00:47because she does fight so hard.
00:57Lovely.
00:58That's a good example.
01:03Oh, that's landed in.
01:07Oh!
01:08That's good judgment.
01:1411.750 titles since the beginning of last year.
01:21And in those sort of statistics,
01:24quite frankly,
01:26wouldn't be believed in a...
01:30Hollywood's...
01:30Oh, that's true.
01:32...movie, would they?
01:33It wasn't a match all year.
01:35That was the All England final.
01:37Head to 1-1-GE.
01:40Fourth final,
01:42which means that she has 22 wins and one loss at the French Open over the years.
01:48Yeah.
01:57Oh, it's just...
02:13A few of the other contenders in women's singles that doesn't have the same reach or height
02:20as Pusala Vinkata as PV Sindhu attacking abilities.
02:26I think that's something that she's been working on, especially the net game.
02:31Oh, good smack.
02:32A few neutralizing shots.
02:36Lovely backhand.
02:41Nice.
02:42Oh, maybe not.
02:47That, well, it's not fully recovered, but it's well enough so that I can play.
02:56So the physical state of Anze Jung is not as her very best.
03:04Nice.
03:06I love you.
03:06I love you.
03:18Look at that.
03:20Thisโฆ
03:24Oh!
03:48She's won both of them last year, so it'll be the second consecutive year she's won both
03:53the Denmark and the French.
03:54But I think PV Sindhu might have something to say about that.
04:01Her Achilles, and she slipped.
04:05With the advantage.
04:07Och, that's delight.
04:20Oy, that's a nice shot.
04:39Lovely.
04:51A first game win, so super important in this first game.
04:54SINDU in all of the ten previous matches.
04:59Yes.
05:30It's a world title in Basel in 2019, on her mum's birthday incidentally.
05:39Was it?
05:40Wow!
05:41Oh!
06:06Oh, that's way down on the court now, from right to left, so that block from Sindhu came back in.
06:18Way wrong!
06:19Throw all those shots to the back of the court.
06:29Nice!
06:30Super!
06:39Beautiful.
06:45That's a great lift.
06:54Lovely.
06:57Long of the back line!
06:58The reigning World Olympic and Asian Games gold medalist years ago.
07:16Oh, that's come off the frame.
07:23Denmark Open and French Open.
07:25Yeah.
07:25Exactly the same draw for these two in both tournaments.
07:31And both never happened.
07:32Both never happened.
07:33Seems like a lovely drop.
07:38Oh!
07:38Nice.
07:40Touch by Anziong.
07:49Even more front court play.
07:52Nice to do an attacking chance.
07:55Yes.
07:55So, this could be a very, very tough game for the Indian.
08:00Oh, that's a good one.
08:02That's open earlier this year.
08:03Yeah.
08:04That was her first 7.50 title.
08:08She was targeting the Asian Games, but lost in the quarterfinal, I think.
08:18Super.
08:20Obligations.
08:21Getting something to eat.
08:22Getting back to the hotel, which was announced.
08:40Good one in the Denmark Open, and he looked mentally and emotionally tired.
08:48Yeah.
08:51Oh, that seems great.
09:02Wide.
09:03Yeah.
09:05And if you really try to play close to the lines, then...
09:10Wow!
09:11It touches the top of the table on its way down, so there's no way Sindus could have played it.
09:17Oh, am I going to slip there from Anziong?
09:25Brilliant.
09:26What a rally!
09:28Oy yoy yoy!
09:30So far!
09:42Wow!
09:43That is...
09:47Once?
09:53Close.
09:55Then...
09:56Oh!
09:56and seven.
09:56The advantage.
09:57To Anza Yaat.

10:31One of the key issues going forward in this second game.
10:35What the net play?
10:37The net play.
10:40A little bit extra time on Siong to get back to it.
10:56It's dead on the backcourt because it's dead.
11:25Well reached!
11:27Oh my goodness!
11:35Beautiful!
11:43Super!

12:46It was the last women's singles champion here at the French Open that wasn't seeded.
12:5417 years, eight months and 22 days to be precise.
13:0211 games throughout the year.
13:05This was the 11th game, the first game that PV Sindhu won.
13:10And Siong, and that was 11th time lucky.
13:15That would be the case for Sindhu.
13:24Yeah, all taken.
13:37Isolated and planted one.
13:39Oh!
13:45Well reached!
13:52Oh yeah, that's good!
13:53What a rally!
13:54That's going wide!
13:55That is!
13:56Oh, this is getting better and better.
13:58And it was good from the start.
14:12Oh, that was going wide!
14:14She shouldn't...
14:22Brilliant!
14:26I was out of balance.
14:34Missed it!
14:40Oh, that's a super shot.
