European Parliament member Reinier van Lanschot delivers a forceful warning about Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, Starshield and Europe's obligation to defend Ukraine.
In his remarks, Van Lanschot invokes Dante's Inferno, questioning whether European leaders risk becoming hypocrites by condemning Russia's aggression while allowing continued purchases of Russian energy.
He also raises concerns about Starshield restrictions affecting Ukraine's military communications, highlighting the dangers of relying on technology controlled by private companies during a war.
The European Union and its member states have mobilised €231.5 billion in support for Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion, including €77.9 billion in military assistance measures, according to the Council of the EU.
Despite this substantial commitment, Van Lanschot argues that Europe must do more and remain faithful to its pledge to support Ukraine.
His central message: Europe's credibility depends on whether its actions match its promises.
