00:00:20This fertile soil from El Popo will prime you for your wedding to our son, Zuma, tomorrow.
00:00:26Zuma, marrying you is my life's ultimate purpose.
00:00:30Marlene, fetch Zuma's gift for Theo.
00:00:41Please accept this necklace as a token of my love.
00:00:43Each bead was taken from a different moment in our lives together.
00:00:46Put it on her.
00:00:51How nice it must be for you, sister, to be the bride, not expendable like me.
00:01:01Theo, you should go clean yourself in the bathhouse.
00:01:04We will have your bed made with fresh sheets for your last night unwed.
00:01:14This memory is from when I was five years old, but the marriage was not arranged until we were 11.
00:01:20He must have always known we were destined, as I did.
00:01:24I don't want to die!
00:01:26You can save me, Zuma!
00:01:35Stop!
00:01:37I'm to be sacrificed to the god of war on your wedding day.
00:01:40But, but if you take my virginity, the offering of my body will be rejected and I'll be saved.
00:01:45Malin, to do so would curse our city.
00:01:49Can you watch me die after seeing me so exposed?
00:01:57You are Theo's sister.
00:01:59Perhaps saving you from being sacrificed to the god of war is the right thing to do.
00:02:05You can have me whenever you want.
00:02:09Even after you're married to my sister.
00:02:12If there are nights she cannot please you, you can come to me and I will satisfy your every need.
00:02:46How dare you betray me like this?
00:03:03What an unfit sacrifice.
00:03:08Vile humans.
00:03:11I will ruin their city to remind them not to toy with me.
00:03:16How dare you betray me like this?
00:03:21Who are you?
00:03:34You mock Witsel with your actions, Zuma.
00:03:36And you mock me as your future wife.
00:03:39Of all people.
00:03:40My own sister?
00:03:42Mind your tone, sister.
00:03:44This is the future Emperor you're talking to.
00:03:47Remember, we live to serve him.
00:03:49In every way we physically can.
00:03:57Don't make a fuss over this, Theo.
00:03:59It changes nothing for us.
00:04:05It changes everything, Zuma.
00:04:07You have had sex with my sister before me.
00:04:09And you have put your own people at risk.
00:04:12She was born to be a sacrifice.
00:04:13That was always my sister's fate.
00:04:15What do you know of sacrifice, Theo?
00:04:17Do you even know how they do it?
00:04:18They keep you alive while they cut your chest open so Witsel can see that your heart is pure.
00:04:22Would you cut yourself open for your people?
00:04:24You've never even cut back an hour of sleep.
00:04:27Zuma is my hero.
00:04:28He saved me.
00:04:30Since you've already taken my sister, you can keep her.
00:04:32Marry her instead.
00:04:33I will leave the palace and never stand before you again.
00:04:36You're my future bride.
00:04:38You do what I say and I say we're still getting married.
00:04:41Do you even love me?
00:04:43Of course I do.
00:04:44Love and sex are different.
00:04:46As emperor, I will take many concubines, but you are the only one who will stand beside me as my
00:04:51wife.
00:04:53I can get his body on my own, but to make him toss her aside, I'll have to use sorcery.
00:04:59But I can't get caught or they'll execute me for witchcraft.
00:05:03No.
00:05:04Now that I've tasted your sister, she's the one I truly crave.
00:05:08He's mine now, along with his empire.
00:05:27You gave yourself to me willingly.
00:05:31But to make sure you stay willing, I'll keep you under my spell.
00:05:37Yes, my love.
00:05:56The god of war knows his sacrifice defied him.
00:05:59By betraying me, my betrothed and my sister have damned us all to a terrible fate.
00:06:04I have to plead for mercy.
00:06:06No.
00:06:29Please.
00:06:30Plutila is terrifying, I cannot disrespect this God.
00:06:33Please, Whitsid, mighty god of war, spare our city.
00:06:36Forgive Malin and Zuma. They were selfish and short-sighted when they ruined your sacrifice.
00:06:45Who are you to pray for the sin of another?
00:06:59I'm so sorry, my lord. What will you do?
00:07:01If you will not offer an appropriate sacrifice willingly,
00:07:05I will take all the sacrifices I desire from your people until my anger is satisfied.
00:07:13Unless an even more appealing sacrifice can be made instead.
00:07:16Like you.
00:07:19You want me to be your sacrifice, my lord?
00:07:21Yes. I need a blood and body tribute.
00:07:27To do with as I please.
00:07:33But I don't want to die.
00:07:36You have no choice.
00:07:38Now that I've seen your radiant soul, I must possess it.
00:07:42Either sacrifice yourself willingly and save your city.
00:07:49Or I will rain hell down and take you anyway.
00:08:01That death and destruction is what will happen if you refuse.
00:08:05I will come for you soon.
00:08:07You may choose how.
00:08:15Teo, you cannot be serious.
00:08:17Why would you offer to switch with your sister and be our sacrifice?
00:08:21Because I am still a virgin.
00:08:23And my sister is not.
00:08:27What do you mean?
00:08:29Who has had her?
00:08:31Your son.
00:08:32My betrothed.
00:08:33Zuma.
00:08:40It can't be.
00:08:41Zuma's only ever loved you.
00:08:43It doesn't matter now.
00:08:44Zuma took Malin's sacred gift.
00:08:46So he can marry her in my place.
00:08:48I will be sacrificed to the god of war.
00:08:51Huitzel's in her place.
00:08:52We can't allow you to do that.
00:08:54We've invested too much in you as our son's bride.
00:08:57It would be wasted if you are sacrificed.
00:08:59I will not marry Zuma.
00:09:00And Huitzel still requires a sacrifice.
00:09:02This is the best path forward.
00:09:03We must conceal Teo's identity during the sacrifice.
00:09:06As well as Malin's.
00:09:09Huitzel and Zuma expect different brides.
00:09:13We will host the wedding and sacrificial ceremonies at the same time.
00:09:17Three days from now.
00:09:18And the identities of the blood offering and the bride shall remain a secret to all.
00:09:23Teo.
00:09:23Prepare a sacrificial headdress and mask for yourself.
00:09:26I will have a bridal covering made for your sister.
00:09:31Zuma.
00:09:31I hope you are sure of your choice.
00:09:33Because once I'm gone, you can't change your mind.
00:09:41They haven't cancelled Malin's sacrificial ceremony yet.
00:09:44She may yet still be offered up to Weedseal.
00:09:47Malin is not going to be sacrificed.
00:09:49You made sure of that by taking her virginity.
00:09:56How could you be angry?
00:09:57I did this for you.
00:09:58She's your sister and I saved her.
00:10:03And when you warm her bed after our marriage, what reason will you give then?
00:10:09Don't be naive.
00:10:10Every emperor has concubines.
00:10:12You didn't expect to be the only woman I taste.
00:10:16For the rest of my life, did you?
00:10:18You're right.
00:10:19I was naive.
00:10:21I'd hoped I'd be enough.
00:10:23But my own sister?
00:10:24Don't you see how wrong that is?
00:10:27Then make sure you satisfy me day and night.
00:10:30And I won't touch her again.
00:10:33You told me she's the only one you crave now.
00:10:36I never said that.
00:10:44But Malin is superior to you in every way.
00:10:47I wish she'd been the one chosen as my empress and you were the sacrifice.
00:10:50Zuma, my dear.
00:10:51Be kind to Teo.
00:10:53She's not strong enough for this harsh world.
00:10:59Get back to work.
00:11:00Your wedding is soon.
00:11:03You mock me.
00:11:04I won't have it.
00:11:07Teo!
00:11:08Why must you be so violent?
00:11:11Apologize to your sister, Teo.
00:11:12I won't let you treat her this way.
00:11:16I don't understand, Zuma.
00:11:18How can you talk to me like this?
00:11:20Have you forgotten all our moments together?
00:11:27You're a jealous, spiteful girl and I'm ashamed to be engaged to you.
00:11:31Apologize now or I'll get the whip and lash you until you do.
00:11:40I would rather die than apologize.
00:11:42Don't yell at her, Zuma.
00:11:43She was raised to be above me.
00:11:44Even if she hurt me on purpose, it's my lot in life to have such abuse.
00:11:48You blame me for doing what I did to save Malin?
00:11:51But look at what a good person she is.
00:11:53I wish I was marrying her instead.
00:11:56You know, Zuma, you'll get your wish soon enough.
00:12:03I was meant to help rule over my people.
00:12:05Instead, I must die for them.
00:12:10Still pouting?
00:12:12You've made enough of a show, you can drop the act now.
00:12:13He still thinks Malin's fall was all my fault.
00:12:16I gathered the beads and restrung this.
00:12:18Next time, take better care of the gifts I give you.
00:12:20Take better care? When you're the one who broke it?
00:12:22Stop making everything a fight.
00:12:24Turn around so I can put it on you.
00:12:34Do I get a thank you for fixing your necklace for you?
00:12:40Still trying to win him back?
00:12:41I will enchant him for as long as it takes to destroy you, Teo.
00:12:48Now that you have your necklace back, I must go find Malin.
00:12:50I want to enjoy her body as much as I can before I'm forced to marry you.
00:13:13we're so happy that we are on you.
00:13:14It is not very okay to do for help.
00:13:15No!
00:13:16No!
00:13:16No!
00:13:17No!
00:13:20Such a violent slaughter, and yet more merciful than mine will be tomorrow.
00:13:28My death will not be quick.
00:13:31I will be kept alive, chest open for as long as I can bear it.
00:13:37Sometimes it takes hours for Huitzil to determine your worthiness and end your suffering, your heart exposed all the while.
00:13:46Is this really my last stroll in the garden?
00:13:49Every one of my life's fondest moments bloomed alongside the flowers in this garden.
00:14:03What happened to Zuma? We were raised to love each other, but now he's with my sister?
00:14:08One minute he is kind, the next cruel. Does he even want to marry me anymore?
00:14:12Who has Zuma become? What does the future look like with a man like that?
00:14:26I would rather die a horrible death than be married to a man who burns for my sister.
00:14:36Teo, I am here to escort you to the ceremonial vesti for your wedding preparations.
00:14:57Claw marks.
00:15:01If I die instantly, I can escape a slow, painful death.
00:15:09Why have they brought me here? I cannot be sacrificed.
00:15:14Let me remind you, your groom so selflessly took my virginity.
00:15:20Yes, Malin.
00:15:21Which is why he deserves you as his bride.
00:15:24I will be Huitzil's sacrifice.
00:15:28You'd rather your chest split open than watch your one and only love desire me for the rest of your
00:15:34woteful life?
00:15:35Smart decision, sister.
00:15:37Too bad there's no way you have the guts to follow through.
00:15:54You should put it on me, sister dear.
00:15:57Of course, sister.
00:16:05Solid gold.
00:16:07Much more precious than your drabby, beaded one.
00:16:21This is it.
00:16:22I'm about to be sacrificed to the god of war.
00:16:29It's time.
00:16:30My groom's lust leads him down the aisle to wed my sister, and I shoulder the sacrifice of our city,
00:16:35offering my life to the god of war.
00:16:54The emperor and empress decided to keep it a secret that my sister and I switched places.
00:16:59I never got to say goodbye to Zuma.
00:17:13We bind your clothing as a sign of your marital bonds, and public promise to share one body, one heart,
00:17:20one soul.
00:17:22You may not remove her mask until the ceremony is finished.
00:17:29Something feels off.
00:17:31Why can't I see Teo's face?
00:18:04This fertile soil from El Popo,

00:28:29But Malin is superior to you in every way.
00:28:31I wish she'd been the one chosen as my empress and you were the sacrifice.
00:28:35Zuma, my dear, be kind to Teo.
00:28:37She's not strong enough for this harsh world.
00:28:43Get back to work.
00:28:44Your wedding is soon.
00:28:47You mock me.
00:28:48I won't have it.
00:28:52Teo!
00:28:53Why must you be so violent?
00:28:55Apologize to your sister, Teo.
00:28:57I won't let you treat her this way.
00:29:01I don't understand, Zuma.
00:29:02How can you talk to me like this?
00:29:04Have you forgotten all our moments together?
00:29:11You're a jealous, spiteful girl and I'm ashamed to be engaged to you.
00:29:16Apologize now or I'll get the whip and lash you until you do.
00:29:24I would rather die than apologize.
00:29:26Don't yell at her, Zuma.
00:29:27She was raised to be above me.
00:29:29Even if she hurt me on purpose, it's my lot in life to have such abuse.
00:29:32You blame me for doing what I did to save Malon?
00:29:35But look at what a good person she is.
00:29:37I wish I was marrying her instead.
00:29:40Do you know, Zuma?
00:29:42You'll get your wish soon enough.
00:29:47I was meant to help rule over my people.
00:29:49Instead, I must die for them.
00:29:55Still pouting?
00:29:56You've made enough of a show, you can drop the act now.
00:29:58He still thinks Malin's fall was all my fault.
00:30:00I gathered the beads and restrung this.
00:30:02Next time, take better care of the gifts I give you.
00:30:05Take better care?
00:30:06When you're the one who broke it?
00:30:07Stop making everything a fight.
00:30:09Turn around so I can put it on you.
00:30:19Do I get a thank you for fixing your necklace for you?
00:30:24Still trying to win him back?
00:30:26I will enchant him for as long as it takes to destroy you, Teo.
00:30:32Now that you have your necklace back, I must go find Malin.
00:30:35I want to enjoy her body as much as I can before I'm forced to marry you.
00:30:54I want to enjoy my necklace all the time.

00:34:18our city

00:35:52Zuma, marrying you is my life's ultimate purpose.
00:35:56Malin, fetch Zuma's gift for Theo.
00:36:07Please accept this necklace as a token of my love.
00:36:09Each bead was taken from a different moment in our lives together.
00:36:12Put it on her.
00:36:17How nice it must be for you, sister, to be the bride, not expendable like me.
00:36:27Theo, you should go clean yourself in the bathhouse.
00:36:30We will have your bed made with fresh sheets for your last night unwed.
00:36:41This memory is from when I was five years old, but the marriage was not arranged until we were eleven.
00:36:47He must have always known we were destined, as I did.
00:36:50I don't want to die.
00:36:51You can save me, Zuma!
00:37:01Stop!
00:37:03I'm to be sacrificed to the god of war on your wedding day.
00:37:05But if you take my virginity, the offering of my body will be rejected and I'll be saved.
00:37:11Malin, to do so would curse our city.
00:37:15Can you watch me die after seeing me so exposed?
00:37:23You are Theo's sister.
00:37:25Perhaps saving you from being sacrificed to the god of war is the right thing to do.
00:37:31You can have me whenever you want.
00:37:35Even after you're married to my sister.
00:37:37If there are nights she cannot please you, you can come to me.
00:37:42And I will satisfy your every need.
00:38:12How dare you betray me like this?
00:38:28What an unfit sacrifice.
00:38:35Vile humans.
00:38:37I will ruin their city to remind them not to toy with me.
00:38:42How dare you betray me like this?
00:38:47Who are you?
00:39:00You mock Witzel with your actions, Zuma.
00:39:02And you mock me as your future wife.
00:39:05Of all people.
00:39:06My own sister?
00:39:08Mind your tone, sister.
00:39:10This is the future emperor you're talking to.
00:39:12Remember we live to serve him in every way we physically can.
00:39:23Don't make a fuss over this, Theo.
00:39:25It changes nothing for us.
00:39:31It changes everything, Zuma.
00:39:32You have had sex with my sister before me.
00:39:35And you have put your own people at risk.
00:39:38She was born to be a sacrifice.
00:39:39That was always my sister's fate.
00:39:41What do you know of sacrifice, Theo?
00:39:43Do you even know how they do it?
00:39:44They keep you alive while they cut your chest open so Witzel can see that your heart is pure.
00:39:48Would you cut yourself open for your people?
00:39:50You've never even cut back an hour of sleep.
00:39:53Zuma is my hero.
00:39:54He saved me.
00:39:56Since you've already taken my sister, you can keep her.
00:39:58Marry her instead.
00:39:59I will leave the palace and never stand before you again.
00:40:02You're my future bride.
00:40:04You do what I say and I say we're still getting married.
00:40:07Do you even love me?
00:40:09Of course I do.
00:40:10Love and sex are different.
00:40:12As emperor, I will take many concubines.
00:40:14But you are the only one who will stand beside me as my wife.
00:40:19I can get his body on my own, but to make him toss her aside, I'll have to use sorcery.
00:40:25But I can't get caught or they'll execute me for witchcraft.
00:40:29No.
00:40:30Now that I've tasted your sister, she's the one I truly crave.
00:40:34He's mine now, along with his empire.
00:40:53You gave yourself to me willingly.
00:40:57But to make sure you stay willing,
00:41:01I'll keep you under my spell.
00:41:03Yes, my love.
00:41:22The god of war knows his sacrifice defied him.
00:41:25By betraying me, my betrothed and my sister have damned us all to a terrible fate.
00:41:30I have to plead for mercy.
00:41:35I have to plead.
00:41:55Twityl is terrifying.
00:41:57I cannot disrespect this god.
00:41:59Please, Whitsid, mighty god of war, spare our city.
00:42:02Forgive Malon and Zuma.
00:42:03They were selfish and short-sighted when they ruined your sacrifice.
00:42:11Who are you to pray for the sin of another?
00:42:25I'm so sorry, my lord.
00:42:26What will you do?
00:42:27If you will not offer an appropriate sacrifice willingly,
00:42:31I will take all the sacrifices I desire from your people until my anger is satisfied.
00:42:38Unless an even more appealing sacrifice can be made instead.
00:42:42Like you.
00:42:45You want me to be your sacrifice, my lord?
00:42:47Yes.
00:42:48I need a blood and body tribute.
00:42:53To do with as I please.
00:42:58But I don't want to die.
00:43:01You have no choice.
00:43:04Now that I've seen your radiant soul, I must possess it.
00:43:08Either sacrifice yourself willingly and save your city.
00:43:15Or I will rain hell down and take you anyway.
00:43:27That death and destruction is what will happen if you refuse.
00:43:30I will come for you soon.
00:43:33You may choose how.
00:43:41Teo, you cannot be serious.
00:43:43Why would you offer to switch with your sister and be our sacrifice?
00:43:47Because I am still a virgin.
00:43:49And my sister is not.
00:43:53What do you mean?
00:43:55Who has had her?
00:43:56Your son.
00:43:58My betrothed.
00:43:59Zuma.
00:44:05It can't be.
00:44:07Zuma's only ever loved you.
00:44:09It doesn't matter now.
00:44:10Zuma took Malin's sacred gift.
00:44:12So he can marry her in my place.
00:44:14I will be sacrificed to the god of war.
00:44:17Huitzel's in her place.
00:44:18We can't allow you to do that.
00:44:20We've invested too much in you as our son's bride.
00:44:23It would be wasted if you are sacrificed.
00:44:25I will not marry Zuma.
00:44:26And Huitzel still requires a sacrifice.
00:44:28This is the best path forward.
00:44:29We must conceal Teo's identity during the sacrifice.
00:44:32As well as Malin's.
00:44:35Huitzel and Zuma expect different brides.
00:44:39We will host the wedding and sacrificial ceremonies at the same time.
00:44:43Three days from now.
00:44:44And the identities of the blood offering and the bride shall remain a secret to all.
00:44:49Teo, prepare a sacrificial headdress and mask for yourself.
00:44:52I will have a bridal covering made for your sister.
00:44:57Zuma, I hope you are sure of your choice.
00:44:59Because once I'm gone, you can't change your mind.
00:45:07They haven't cancelled Malin's sacrificial ceremony yet.
00:45:09She may yet still be offered up to Weedseal.
00:45:13Malin is not going to be sacrificed.
00:45:15You made sure of that by taking her virginity.
00:45:22How could you be angry?
00:45:23I did this for you.
00:45:24She's your sister and I saved her.
00:45:29And when you warm her bed after our marriage, what reason will you give then?
00:45:35Don't be naive.
00:45:37Every emperor has concubines.
00:45:38You didn't expect to be the only woman I taste for the rest of my life, did you?
00:45:44You're right.
00:45:45I was naive.
00:45:47I'd hoped I'd be enough.
00:45:49But my own sister?
00:45:50Don't you see how wrong that is?
00:45:53Then make sure you satisfy me day and night.
00:45:56And I won't touch her again.
00:45:59You told me she's the only one you crave now.
00:46:02I never said that.
00:46:10But Malin is superior to you in every way.
00:46:13I wish she'd been the one chosen as my empress and you were the sacrifice.
00:46:16Zuma, my dear.
00:46:17Be kind to Teo.
00:46:19She's not strong enough for this harsh world.
00:46:25Get back to work.
00:46:26Your wedding is soon.
00:46:29You mock me.
00:46:30I won't have it.
00:46:34Teo, why must you be so violent?
00:46:37Apologize to your sister, Teo.
00:46:38I won't let you treat her this way.
00:46:42I don't understand, Zuma.
00:46:44How can you talk to me like this?
00:46:46Have you forgotten all our moments together?
00:46:53You're a jealous, spiteful girl, and I'm ashamed to be engaged to you.
00:46:57Apologize now or I'll get the whip and lash you until you do.
00:47:06I would rather die than apologize.
00:47:08Don't yell at her, Zuma.
00:47:09She was raised to be above me.
00:47:10Even if she hurt me on purpose, it's my lot in life to have such abuse.
00:47:14You blame me for doing what I did to save Malin?

00:47:46Take better care?
00:47:47When you're the one who broke it?
00:47:48Stop making everything a fight.
00:47:51Turn around so I can put it on you.
00:48:00Do I get a thank you for fixing your necklace for you?
00:48:06Still trying to win him back?
00:48:07I will enchant him for as long as it takes to destroy you, Teo.
00:48:14Now that you have your necklace back, I must go find Malin.
00:48:16I want to enjoy her body as much as I can before I'm forced to marry you.
00:48:38Got one.
00:48:39This will be the perfect pig to roast for tomorrow's wedding.
00:48:46Such a violent slaughter.
00:48:48And yet, more merciful than mine will be tomorrow.
00:48:54My death will not be quick.
00:48:57I will be kept alive, chest open for as long as I can bear it.
00:49:03Sometimes it takes hours for Huitzil to determine your worthiness and end your suffering, your heart exposed all the while.
00:49:12Is this really my last stroll in the garden?
00:49:15Every one of my life's fondest moments bloomed alongside the flowers in this garden.
00:49:29What happened to Zuma?
00:49:30We were raised to love each other, but now he's with my sister?
00:49:34One minute he is kind, the next cruel.
00:49:36Does he even want to marry me anymore?
00:49:38Who has Zuma become?
00:49:40What does a future look like with a man like that?
00:49:52I would rather die a horrible death than be married to a man who burns for my sister.
00:50:03Teo, I am here to escort you to the ceremonial vesti for your wedding preparations.
00:50:23Claw marks.
00:50:27If I die instantly, I can escape a slow, painful death.
00:50:35Why have they brought me here?
00:50:37I cannot be sacrificed.
00:50:40Let me remind you, your groom so selflessly took my virginity.
00:50:46Yes, Malin.
00:50:47Which is why he deserves you as his bride.
00:50:50I will be Huitzil's sacrifice.
00:50:54You'd rather your chest split open than watch your one and only love desire me for the rest of your
00:51:00woteful life?
00:51:01Smart decision, sister.
00:51:03Too bad there's no way you have the guts to follow through.
00:51:20You should put it on me, sister dear.
00:51:23Of course, sister.
00:51:31Solid gold.
00:51:33Much more precious than your drabby, beaded one.
00:51:46This is it.
00:51:48I'm about to be sacrificed to the god of war.
00:51:55It's time.
00:51:56My groom's lust leads him down the aisle to wed my sister, and I shoulder the sacrifice of our city,

00:52:46one soul.
00:52:48You may not remove her mask until the ceremony is finished.
00:52:55Something feels off.
00:52:57Why can't I see Teo's face?
00:53:07Why can't I see Teo's face?
00:53:09Why can't I see Teo's face?
00:53:09Why can't I see Teo's face?
00:53:10Why doesn't I see Teo's face?
00:53:11What if it's Teo's face?
00:53:12Uh huh.
00:53:17How can I see Teo's face?
00:53:17Let's see you.
00:53:20I know.
00:53:21I know, I think it's easy.
00:53:23I know.

00:58:06But I can't get caught or they'll execute me for witchcraft.
00:58:11No.
00:58:12Now that I've tasted your sister, she's the one I truly crave.
00:58:15He's mine now, along with his empire.
00:58:35You gave yourself to me willingly.
00:58:39But to make sure you stay willing, I'll keep you under my spell.
00:58:44Yes, my love.
00:59:04The god of war knows his sacrifice defied him.
00:59:07By betraying me, my betrothed and my sister have damned us all to a terrible fate.
00:59:12I have to plead for mercy.
00:59:15I have to plead for mercy.
00:59:24I have to plead for mercy.
00:59:41I have to plead for mercy.
00:59:41Please, Witsid, mighty god of war, spare our city.
00:59:44Forgive Malin and Zuma.
00:59:45They were selfish and short-sighted when they ruined your sacrifice.
00:59:52Who are you to pray for the sin of another?
01:00:06I'm so sorry, my lord.
01:00:08What will you do?
01:00:09If you will not offer an appropriate sacrifice willingly, I will take all the sacrifices I desire from your people
01:00:15until my anger is satisfied.
01:00:20Unless an even more appealing sacrifice can be made instead, like you.
01:00:26You want me to be your sacrifice, my lord?
01:00:29Yes, I need a blood and body tribute to do with as I please.
01:00:40But I don't want to die.
01:00:43You have no choice.
01:00:45Now that I've seen your radiant soul, I must possess it.
01:00:50Either sacrifice yourself willingly and save your city.
01:00:57Or I will rain hell down and take you anyway.
01:01:08That death and destruction is what will happen if you refuse.
01:01:12I will come for you soon.
01:01:14You may choose how.
01:01:22Teo, you cannot be serious.
01:01:25Why would you offer to switch with your sister and be our sacrifice?
01:01:28Because I am still a virgin.
01:01:30And my sister is not.
01:01:35What do you mean?
01:01:36Who has had her?
01:01:38Your son.
01:01:39My betrothed, Zuma.
01:01:47It can't be.
01:01:49Zuma's only ever loved you.
01:01:50It doesn't matter now.
01:01:52Zuma took Malin's sacred gift so he can marry her in my place.
01:01:56I will be sacrificed to the god of war, Huitzel's in her place.
01:01:59We can't allow you to do that.
01:02:01We've invested too much in you as our son's bride.
01:02:04It would be wasted if you are sacrificed.
01:02:06I will not marry Zuma and Huitzel still requires a sacrifice.
01:02:09This is the best path forward.
01:02:10We must conceal Teo's identity during the sacrifice, as well as Malin's.
01:02:16Huitzel and Zuma expect different brides.
01:02:20We will host the wedding and sacrificial ceremonies at the same time, three days from now.
01:02:25And the identities of the blood offering and the bride shall remain a secret to all.
01:02:30Teo, prepare a sacrificial headdress and mask for yourself.
01:02:33I will have a bridal covering made for your sister.
01:02:38Zuma, I hope you are sure of your choice.
01:02:41Because once I'm gone, you can't change your mind.
01:02:48They haven't cancelled Malin's sacrificial ceremony yet.
01:02:51She may yet still be offered up to Weedseal.
01:02:54Malin is not going to be sacrificed.
01:02:56You made sure of that by taking her virginity.
01:03:03How could you be angry?
01:03:05I did this for you.
01:03:06She's your sister and I saved her.
01:03:10And when you warm her bed after our marriage, what reason will you give then?
01:03:16Don't be naive.
01:03:18Every emperor has concubines.
01:03:20You didn't expect to be the only woman I taste for the rest of my life, did you?
01:03:26You're right, I was naive.
01:03:28I'd hoped I'd be enough.
01:03:30But my own sister?
01:03:32Don't you see how wrong that is?
01:03:34Then make sure you satisfy me day and night.
01:03:37And I won't touch her again.
01:03:41You told me she's the only one you crave now.
01:03:44I never said that.
01:03:52But Malin is superior to you in every way.
01:03:54I wish she'd been the one chosen as my empress and you were the sacrifice.
01:03:57Zuma, my dear.
01:03:59Be kind to Teo.
01:04:00She's not strong enough for this harsh world.
01:04:06Get back to work.
01:04:07Your wedding is soon.
01:04:10You mock me.
01:04:11I won't have it.
01:04:15Teo, why must you be so violent?
01:04:18Apologize to your sister, Teo.
01:04:20I won't let you treat her this way.
01:04:24I don't understand, Zuma.
01:04:25How can you talk to me like this?
01:04:27Have you forgotten all our moments together?
01:04:34You're a jealous, spiteful girl and I'm ashamed to be engaged to you.
01:04:39Apologize now or I'll get the whip and lash you until you do.
01:04:47I would rather die than apologize.
01:04:49Don't yell at her, Zuma.
01:04:50She was raised to be above me.
01:04:52Even if she hurt me on purpose, it's my lot in life to have such abuse.
01:04:55You blame me for doing what I did to save Malon?
01:04:58But look at what a good person she is.
01:05:00I wish I was marrying her instead.
01:05:03You know, Zuma, you'll get your wish soon enough.
01:05:10I was meant to help rule over my people.
01:05:12Instead, I must die for them.
01:05:18Still pouting?
01:05:19You've made enough of a show, you can drop the act now.
01:05:21He still thinks Maline's fall was all my fault.
01:05:23I gathered the beads and restrung this.
01:05:25Next time, take better care of the gifts I give you.
01:05:28Take better care?
01:05:29When you're the one who broke it?
01:05:30Stop making everything a fight.
01:05:32Turn around so I can put it on you.
01:05:41Do I get a thank you for fixing your necklace for you?
01:05:47Still trying to win him back?
01:05:49I will enchant him for as long as it takes to destroy you, Teo.
01:05:55Now that you have your necklace back, I must go find Malin.
01:05:58I want to enjoy her body as much as I can before I'm forced to marry you.
01:06:19Got one.
01:06:20This will be the perfect pig to roast for tomorrow's wedding.
01:06:27Such a violent slaughter, and yet more merciful than mine will be tomorrow.
01:06:35My death will not be quick.
01:06:38I will be kept alive, chest open for as long as I can bear it.
01:06:44Sometimes it takes hours for Huitzil to determine your worthiness and end your suffering,
01:06:48your heart exposed all the while.
01:06:53Is this really my last stroll in the garden?
01:06:57Every one of my life's fondest moments bloomed alongside the flowers in this garden.
01:07:10What happened to Zuma?
01:07:12We were raised to love each other, but now he's with my sister?
01:07:15One minute he is kind, the next cruel.
01:07:18Does he even want to marry me anymore?
01:07:20Who has Zuma become?
01:07:21What does the future look like with a man like that?
01:07:33I would rather die a horrible death than be married to a man who burns for my sister.
01:07:44Teo, I am here to escort you to the ceremonial vesti for your wedding preparations.
01:08:05Claw marks.
01:08:08If I die instantly, I can escape a slow, painful death.
01:08:17Why have they brought me here?
01:08:18I cannot be sacrificed.
01:08:21Let me remind you, your groom so selflessly took my virginity.
01:08:27Yes, Malin.
01:08:28Which is why he deserves you as his bride.
01:08:31I will be Huitzil's sacrifice.
01:08:36You'd rather your chest split open than watch your one and only love desire me for the rest of your
01:08:41woteful life?
01:08:43Smart decision, sister.
01:08:45Too bad there's no way you have the guts to follow through.
01:09:01You should put it on me, sister dear.
01:09:05Of course, sister.
01:09:13Solid gold.
01:09:14Much more precious than your drabby, beaded one.
01:09:28This is it.
01:09:29I'm about to be sacrificed to the god of war.
01:09:36It's time.
01:09:37My groom's lust leads him down the aisle to wed my sister and I shoulder the sacrifice of our city.
01:09:42Offering my life to the god of war.
01:10:02The emperor and empress decided to keep it a secret that my sister and I switched places.
01:10:07I never got to say goodbye to Zuma.
01:10:20We bind your clothing as a sign of your marital bonds.
01:10:24And public promise to share one body, one heart, one soul.
01:10:30You may not remove her mask until the ceremony is finished.
01:10:36Something feels off.
01:10:38Why can't I see Teo's face?
01:10:44You may and I hush each other and keep it on, but we're going against the Jews.
01:10:49And I'm now thinking a lot of mess.
01:10:51If you're a studio, I'm not.
01:10:51I really want to go to their jamm, please.
01:10:51He is a fo and Jesus.
