00:10Mason, nice to meet you. Thank you for your time. Welcome to Venezuela and welcome to Meridiano.
00:15Your second experience on a Winter League.
00:18How special is this? This opportunity for you.
00:21It was really cool. I mean, look at the ballpark we're playing in right now.
00:25Pretty cool ballpark, pretty cool yard.
00:26I mean, it's a new experience for me.
00:30I understand it's a very competitive league and it's very challenging and that's what I want.
00:34I want to challenge myself. I'm here to play the best that I possibly can help this team win and
00:40get better as a player in the process.
00:56temporada.
00:56Mason, ¿qué has escuchado de Tigres?
00:59Es una organización muy sucesiva, la liga más sucesiva en el país.
01:04Miguel Cabrera ha jugado en este equipo.
01:06Un increíble accolade.
01:08¿Qué has escuchado de Tigres?
01:10Yeah, obviously, first of all, the great players that have come through here and played here.
01:16Second of all, I understand that they went on quite the run in, I think, the 2010s of championships.
01:22I think there's eight championships or something like that in there is what I was told.
01:26So since then, I don't think they've won one in 10 years or something around that is what I'm being
01:34told.
01:34So I want to help them do that, you know, I want to help them bring the championship back to
01:39Aragua and Maracay.
01:42You know, hopefully we can do that.
01:53Mason, if you have to describe yourself as a player, as a baseball player, how would you do this?
02:13Damage Specialist. I think that would be the best way to describe my game.
02:17Damage Specialist.
02:18Damage.
02:19Damage.
02:19That's nice.
02:20He says that he's described as a player specialist.
02:24Tell him a little bit about the player that he is, that he's a slugger.
02:27Finally, we're going to ask you about how he's been with the coaching staff that they've been able to talk
02:33to them.
02:34Last one, Mason, how has been so far the communication with the coaching staff?
02:38And what do you think you can learn from them?
02:43Yeah, a lot of Major League experience on the coaching staff as well.
02:46I mean, if you look around the clubhouse, I mean, not only experience with the players, but the coaches as
02:51well.
02:53Talking with them, you know, learning from them early on, it's been great.
02:58You know, the communication's been great.
03:01Miguel Perez, he's my guy, you know, so I go to him for whatever I need.
03:05He's been my manager for seven years in the Pirates organization, so I know him really well.
03:11And obviously, I can communicate with him really well.
03:15And that's one thing he does great with his players, is he communicates and he just lets you know, he's
03:20honest with you.
03:21So, it's been great so far.
03:23I'm enjoying the staff.
03:25They're working with me really well on my routine and also what they might want to see me do here
03:32and there.
03:32So, they've worked with me really well and it's been good so far.
03:36He said, well, that at the moment it's been pretty good, that Miguel Perez knows him, that he's been his
03:40manager in minor leagues a long time for seven years.
03:43That there's a lot of experience in the big leagues, not only in the players, but also in the coaching
03:47staff and that he thinks he'll learn a lot of them.
03:49And that the communication has also been pretty good.
03:51Mason, thank you for your time.
03:53Absolutely.
