00:00Jewish patients, healthcare staff, pupils and teachers should not have to fight to be
00:08taken seriously when they say they have experienced anti-Semitism. And we have to call it out
00:14whenever we see it. And the Prime Minister did exactly that in the House of Commons
00:20earlier this month when he condemned the Green Party conference motion describing Zionism
00:25as racism. He said it was wrong and anti-Semitic and I agree completely. We should also be alert
00:36when old anti-Semitic ideas turn up in the criticism of Israel just dressed up in a different language.
00:45Now of course people can criticise the Israeli government but British Jews are not responsible
00:53for what governments do and criticism of Israel must never become an excuse for anti-Semitism
01:00here at home. Anti-Semitism doesn't become acceptable just because someone dresses it up as a protest
01:10or ideology. From radicalised conspiracy theories on the far right to anti-Semitic language about
01:18Israel and Zionism on the left. The politics might be different but the anti-Semitism is not.
