00:00I think this officially is a clubhouse issue. I think this officially is a player issue.
00:06I think that Aaron Judge needs to take control of his own clubhouse. I want to know where
00:13Giancarlo Stanton is. Where's the veteran leadership? If Derek Jeter can't get Anthony
00:20Volpe on the phone, if Jorge Posada isn't welcome, if you don't want to pick the brain
00:26of Tino Martinez, then we've got problems. It's as simple as that.
00:37But I don't think they want me there, to tell you the truth.
00:43Why not? I don't feel welcome when I go there. Even in spring training, I don't feel like
00:50I'm just like, I don't know, I don't feel welcome. I don't feel like they
00:56want me there, so I don't go. You can't make this up. That's Jorge Posada
01:03on the show with my guys, Joel Sherman and John Heyman, and a world exclusive for the New York
01:09Post. Did you see my guy, John Heyman, make that face? I think that face was every human
01:16being. Whether or not you're a Yankee fan, understanding that that makes no sense.
01:23That is hot garbage. And if you're a Yankee fan, and you see that Jorge Posada doesn't feel welcome
01:29at spring training, get the hell out of here. But here's the bigger problem.
01:36This is now the second time this has happened. Remember the first time, with me, when I had
01:42Derek Jeter on my Sirius XM radio show, and he said he had no relationship with Anthony Volpe.
01:48And that's the problem. If Anthony Volpe, who's playing shortstop at the time for the New York
01:54Yankees, and he's struggling, and he's languishing, and he's absolutely underachieving, and he doesn't
02:01reach out to Derek Jeter, and Jeter's not welcome? Please. And here's what I find fascinating,
02:08right? Because it's Volpe. It's the players. It's not feeling welcome. Aaron Boone, and say what you
02:19want about Boone as a manager, and I've said it, Aaron Boone's a baseball lifer. Aaron Boone's
02:24grandfather was in baseball. His dad was in baseball. His brother was in baseball. I absolutely
02:33am going to give Aaron Boone a free pass on this. There's no way Aaron Boone would tell
02:38legends who want to help, eh, we're good. I can't believe that this would come from Brian
02:46Cashman or from Hal Steinbrenner, and I've destroyed those guys at length for what's going on with
02:53the New York Yankees. Look at Jorge Posada's resume. Come on. He doesn't feel welcome at spring
03:01training. You're telling me Austin Wells couldn't use talking to Jorge Posada? You're telling me
03:10Anthony Volpe couldn't use some kind of direction from Derek Jeter? These are guys who just want to be
03:18there because it seems like they care more about winning than the current Yankee players. So I think
03:28this officially is a clubhouse issue. I think this officially is a player issue. I think that Aaron Judge
03:36needs to take control of his own clubhouse. I want to know where Giancarlo Staten is. Where's the veteran
03:43leadership? If Derek Jeter can't get Anthony Volpe on the phone, if Jorge Posada isn't welcome,
03:52if you don't want to pick the brain of Tino Martinez, then we've got problems. It's as simple
03:58as that. And look, if the Yankees of the current group, if they were winning, we're not having this
04:05conversation. But they're losing, and they're fundamentally unsound, and they play at their
04:11worst when it matters the most. The antithesis of Posada and Jeter and those amazing Yankee teams.
04:18So, that right there, that's painful. I can't wait to watch the entire conversation
04:25with Joel Sherman, John Heyman, Jorge Posada on the show, on the Post Sports YouTube page,
04:32because that, that makes me sick. The fact that Jorge Posada, an all-time great Yankee,
04:40blood, guts, sweat, tears, joy, jubilation, a guy who understands what winning is all about,
04:49he doesn't feel welcome at spring training? The Yankee clubhouse? Man, and you wonder why this team
04:58can't perform in big spots. You wonder why they can't perform in extra innings. You wonder why
05:03they can't have a lead in a series against the Tampa Rays? What a joke, an embarrassment. That was
05:10nauseating. Absolutely pathetic. To the games on the field, where there was a hostile takeover
05:18of Tropical County Field last night in Game 3 of the World Series.
05:31How's the, how's the Sea of Brewers fans down there? Oh, it's insane, guys. I mean, you would think
05:35it's a home game. We, we came out for stretch today, and I think they were all still here,
05:38so pretty, pretty insane. I think they were getting going early. They brought the tailgate
05:42down to the western part of the state of Florida. I mean, if you know a Rays fan, you might
05:50be the
05:50only one. That was basically Milwaukee South last night. I mean, just incredible. Or pathetic when
05:58you start thinking about the Tampa Rays and the fact that, and I don't blame the diehard fans who
06:04love the team, but you can't grow that brand, and this was the whole thing about why I always talk
06:10about that dump of a ballpark. You grow a city, you grow a fan base in a city, you grow
06:16a brand of a
06:17sports team through kids. You think that a kid, when the Devil Rays were born, shows up at the
06:23Trop and says, Mom, Dad, take me back. No, it doesn't happen, which is why at the end of the
06:30day,
06:30the entire stadium last night was filled with Brewers fans. If I'm a diehard Rays fan, I would never go
06:37to
06:37this dump of a ballpark. I'm thrilled my team's in the World Series, but I would never, ever spend my
06:45time in this piece of garbage known as Tropicana Field. I would never do that. Also, I picked the
06:53Brewers to win the World Series. I didn't necessarily think it was going to be like this. I said Brewers
06:58in six. I said that you would see Tampa get a game. I have so much respect for the Rays.
07:03Tampa
07:03would get a game in Milwaukee. Tampa would win last night. Listen, this is sheer domination.
07:10And we will officially stamp this when the Brewers win the World Series. And, you know, normally I
07:16get so sad at the end of a baseball season, right, when it's all said and done because I live
07:20for
07:20baseball. But what's going on right now for the Brewers, and you see what they did after a couple
07:26outs in the fifth inning, this is part of it. This is history. This is a historic run. This has
07:33never happened before what is on your screen, where you see eight two-out runs in one inning.
07:41That's a record. I mean, that's insane. That is unprecedented. And when the Brewers win,
07:50and I hope for the amazing, long-suffering, never-seen-a-championship, Wisconsin Brewers,
07:55Milwaukee fans, I hope they get it tonight. If they sweep, and I get sad when the baseball
08:01season's done, so normally I want extra games, more games, competition. Series is over. Congrats
08:06to the Brewers on winning the World Series. I want to see them win tonight because I want
08:10to sweep. Because tomorrow I want to talk about how this is a historic championship run where
08:16they've already won eight straight games. If they win nine straight games in the playoffs
08:20to win a World Series, that's unbelievable. And look at the stats comparison. You watch
08:26the World Series, and it's not even close. I mean, this is an ass-kicking of epic proportion.
08:32And the stars are out. I mean, Jack Centurio, four hits and a steal. He's the youngest player
08:36in World Series history to do that since Ty Cobb. I mean, it's unbelievable. Contreras,
08:42the star, Yelich, you know, obviously he's a former MVP. He's not the player he was,
08:47but he still, he oozes stardom, and he comes up in the clutch. And this team is so dominant,
08:53so remarkable, watching Terang come through when it matters the most. Pat Murphy, he's got
09:00it going on. Phenomenal skipper. They play the game the right way. And I don't want to keep
09:05saying that, and it sounds like I'm minimizing the talent. The Milwaukee Brewers are a juggernaut.
09:12You look at baseball over the last four years, I mean, they've got the most wins in the regular
09:16season. They just needed to get over that hump in the playoffs. They just beat the Padres. In a
09:22series that could have gone either way, but they played their best when it mattered the most. They
09:26beat Mason Miller. This is all part of what they've been able to accomplish this postseason.
09:30They swept away the two-time defending champs, the big bad L.A. Dodgers, who not only have this
09:38massive payroll and a galaxy of stars and Hall of Famers, they were the Brewers' personal
09:42kryptonite all these years. And that was an amazing job here by Milwaukee, that they won,
09:48how they won, coming back in all those games. Absolutely brilliant and breathtaking stuff.
09:53So I hope that the Brewers win tonight because I want this stamped when it comes to history.
09:59When the Brewers sweep away the Rays and they do it in that jump of a ballpark, we will be
10:08talking about this as one of the single greatest single-season runs ever in the history of Major
10:15League Baseball.
10:17You seem a little short, not as exuberant as you've been in the past.
10:24No, I'm great. Excited for our guys.
10:27Definitely a hungry, pissed off version of shoddy. It's not like he's naive. It's not like he hadn't heard
10:36some noise about him. And you know, whether it's the call in the games or whatever doubt that's been
10:40out there. But we've got his back. He knows that. He's a guy that takes a lot of pride in
10:45his job,
10:45a lot of pride in his team. And yeah, I mean, everybody handles everything different. And so
10:50I don't blame him to an extent. And yeah, we've got his back. More importantly, it's just about
10:56us going up there and executing on Sundays.
10:57I absolutely love that from Brian Schottenheimer and Dak Prescott. The way the Dallas Cowboys beat
11:04the Philadelphia Eagles last night on the road in Philadelphia, that was businesslike. That was
11:11superb. That was wearing the hard hat to work, lunch pail performance. It was kick-ass, take names,
11:20domination in the trenches. The offensive line was fantastic in terms of opening up
11:25holes for Javante Williams, who was sensational. The pass protection for Dak Prescott was excellent.
11:33Williams stole the soul of the Philadelphia Eagles and their defense. I loved every second of that
11:38from a Dallas standpoint. Dak had all day to throw. Dak did a great job hitting C.D. Lamb a
11:46couple times in
11:46the end zone. Prescott threw for 212 yards, three touchdowns. And the balls that he threw,
11:54the passes he threw for the touchdowns, I mean, they were just pinpoint. Things of absolute beauty.
12:00You look at Dak Prescott. You look at him throughout his history. We go all the way back to Ezekiel
12:06Elliott.
12:06He's always at his best. The Cowboys are at their best when they can run the football. What a concept.
12:13That balance on offense. I just loved how they handled adversity. Again, this is a banged up Eagles team,
12:22but everyone's still there on defense for the Philadelphia Eagles. That's still a home game.
12:27They still have a lot of incredible talent and high profile guys and highly paid guys and a
12:34phenomenal defensive coordinator in Vic Fangio. And I just love the way that the Dallas Cowboys,
12:40when Philadelphia in the early stage of the third quarter, took that lead at 21-20 and Dak and the
12:47offensive line and Williams and Lamb and Brian Schottenheimer, they just marched down the field.
12:52And then, bam, they punched him out. And listen, nobody's crowning them. You look at the standings
12:58of the NFC East. The Giants are still in first place. And the Giants, obviously, are a worthy
13:04first place team. But you look at Dallas and you take a look at their record at three and four.
13:10And now, and I think it's important for Giants fans and Cowboys fans to start thinking about all of
13:16this. You look at the Cowboys schedule here and it's very easy on the heels of last night's going into
13:26the crystal ball to say, okay, Dallas should be able to win four of its next five games.
13:34They should be able to beat Arizona without question. They should be able to beat the Colts
13:41who've traded Quentin Nelson today. And I think they're going to end up trading Jonathan Taylor
13:45and they're going to end up trading the Forrest Buckner. Now, San Francisco, no shot. But they
13:52should be able to beat Tennessee and they should be able to beat Philadelphia. You look at the odds
13:58right now for the NFC East and Vegas basically has it as co-favorites with Dallas being the slight
14:07favorite. I would agree completely here with Vegas. The Dallas Cowboys, if they can play like they did
14:15last night, and obviously they're going up against an Eagles team that has McGee at quarterback and,
14:21you know, McGee is not an answer in any way, shape or form. The offensive line is not any good.
14:27Saquon played last night. He got hurt again. You know, Devontae Smith didn't play. But the Cowboys defense
14:32did get better here, right? They did get better in that fourth quarter and did a nice job slamming
14:38the door shut. Now you look at the Giants schedule, and I think this is important here looking at it
14:45from a Giants standpoint because I expect Dallas to win four of its next five. The Giants have a well
14:52-deserved
14:53bye week. I think the Giants have a golden opportunity to beat Philadelphia, beat Washington,
15:00Washington. And then if they can bank that Jacksonville game, and I still think Jacksonville,
15:06they've come back down to earth a little bit, but the Jags, I believe, are still one of the best
15:12teams
15:12when you look at it in the AFC. If they can beat Jacksonville, that will change the equation. I do
15:19think the Giants have some difficult spots with the Jags and the Niners and the Seahawks. Cleveland,
15:25as we know, is not going to be a cupcake in any way, shape, or form. In Detroit, you know,
15:30I don't think Dan Campbell has any idea what he's doing. In Detroit, it's a whole different
15:33can of worms. That's a tough one. At Dallas, which is a monster game, and they will beat Philly,
15:40of course, when you take a look at the final week of the season. So I think when it's all
15:45said and done,
15:47Dallas by a smidge ahead of the Giants. But if you're a Giants fan, you're saying,
15:52why not us? And that should be the expectation here for the New York football Giants. And the
15:58Giants clearly have the best coach in the division in John Harbaugh. There's no question about that.
16:05I believe in J.J. McCarthy. I believe in Malik Nabors. I believe in not only Harbaugh,
16:10but the entire coaching staff. The defense has played really well. Let's make sure we give credit to
16:16them. They have run the ball with authority, even as news trickles in that Tyrone Tracy's going on
16:22injured reserve. So you have to believe that you take a look at it, and Scadaboo should be able to
16:28at least carry the mail. And Singletary had that touchdown. And we'll see what transpires if the
16:35Giants get in the conversation for somebody like Jonathan Taylor. We'll explore that as the week moves
16:41along. But I anticipate this is going to be a battle. I think the Dallas Cowboys are the team to
16:47beat,
16:47assuming they can continue to play like that. I'll bring it full circle. This is why Brian
16:52Schottenheimer being businesslike during the game, after the game, not getting too high,
16:59not giving the press too much. I respect it. Not about flash and dash and sizzle and Jerry on 105
17:06.7,
17:07the fan in Dallas. It's about taking care of business. It's about doing the little things,
17:12the dirty work. Aubrey hit the field goals. Defense got it done in the fourth quarter.
17:17And by the way, the Eagles are a disaster. A flat-out disaster. This team has completely
17:24quit on Nick Sirianni. I feel bad for him with all the injuries on offense. That's not his fault.
17:30But the Philadelphia Eagles are a hot mess. They still have a ton of talent on defense. And listen,
17:40absolutely, they had their souls snatched from them. Vic Fangio and that defense should be
17:46embarrassed. I would not be surprised here from a Philadelphia Eagles standpoint if Howie Roseman,
17:53who's never done this in terms of selling at the trade deadline, I think Philadelphia is going to
17:58shop till they drop. I think that they are going to look into trading everybody on that team who's a
18:04mess. You know, I think Hollywood Brown is gone. I think they'll look into shipping off defensive
18:09players. And if they could keep him in bubble wrap, they have to trade Saquon Barkley. They
18:15absolutely need to look into trading Saquon Barkley. I think that is the best thing for the 2027
18:22Philadelphia Eagles. Look, it's going to go down in history as one of the greatest free agent signings
18:27ever. Obviously, it's one of the great single seasons ever for a running back regular season,
18:32postseason combined in the history of the NFL. I would make the case that it is. Barkley was
18:38unbelievable in the regular season, ran Philadelphia to a championship. Jalen Hurts is not walking
18:43through that door. If you look at the Eagles schedule, they're going to lose nine consecutive
18:46games. And I think that I can't believe we have to watch the the commanders and the Philadelphia
18:52Eagles on Sunday Night Football this week. And a related story. I'm going to bed early. I mean,
18:57I don't see how Nick Sirianni survives this in any way, shape or form. And I think that if you're
19:02a Philadelphia Eagles fan, you have to just hope that the great Howie Roseman, who's going to be
19:08selling for the first time ever, does his thing, stockpile draft picks season. And I picked Dallas
19:14to win the division preseason. I thought Philly would be good enough to make the playoffs.
19:18They won their first two games. Feels like a lifetime ago. Nick Sirianni has not been able to coach
19:22his way out of a paper bag. Remember the Jacksonville game? Remember the Rams game? What a
19:27disaster for the Philadelphia Eagles. To Vegas, where I've been preaching to all who will hear.
19:35Fernando Mendoza should be the starting quarterback for the Raiders.
19:39Clint Kubiak, what say you on the subject?
19:42All right, I just want to start with, you know, I want to let you guys know
19:46that Kirk is our starting quarterback. There is no controversy there. He's playing at a very high level.
19:52He's got to continue to do that for us to win, and we've got to keep helping all the
19:58areas around him. So I'm excited for him to go play here against the Jets, and I'll take any of
20:03your questions. What will go into your decision when you do turn to Fernando as your starter?
20:08Yeah, you know, eventually Fernando is going to play football. We have a plan.
20:11You know, we don't have a timeline for that. You know, Kirk's playing really well, and we're in
20:15the hunt, and you know, it's really important that we keep playing really well behind him and
20:20continue to develop Fernando. But Fernando is going to play at some point, okay? It's not going to be
20:24this week. We're in the hunt. Clint Kubiak said a lot of things right there and a lot of stuff.
20:33I find the whole thing fascinating. First of all, he didn't leave anything to chance. That's a news
20:38conference from Monday afternoon in Vegas. And listen, writers are a disaster right now. Started
20:47the season 3-0, lost four straight. And to me, it's always when it comes to a young quarterback,
20:53it's always about the player. More than the team, more than the quarterback who's playing
20:59instead of him. If you're trying to give your first round pick time and let him just see things
21:06and develop, when he's ready to be the guy, he's got to play. And I have been outspoken.
21:12Now, Fernando Mendoza should have started the season. Let's just take a breath and remember
21:17who Fernando Mendoza is. He's not some kid who came out after his junior year who didn't have
21:23the requisite snaps. He's a grizzled college football veteran, played in a few different programs,
21:30took all the reps, all the snaps, played a ton of games, won a Heisman Trophy, won a national
21:36championship. And he was the number one overall pick. So what are you waiting for? Also, you have
21:45the gift of the Jets coming up this week. And I'm always one of those when it comes to developing
21:51a
21:51quarterback. You keep the blinders on, right? You don't look at the schedule. In this case,
21:57I would look at the four consecutive L's and it's time and Cousins has been awful in these games.
22:05And then I would take a look at the fact that if it's not against the Jets,
22:10when do you play Mendoza? Against the Niners? Seattle? Denver's defense? Cleveland? So is the plan,
22:21let's bring him in for after the bye week for the Chargers? And then Denver, Tennessee at home,
22:27and then finish up and have him play five games? I don't know. And I'm a huge Clint Kubiak fan.
22:35I wish for the Raiders that could have won that Chiefs game. I mean, they had it. They blew it.
22:41Kubiak was part of that. We talked about it. But this one makes absolutely no sense.
22:46Zero sense to me. Fernando Mendoza should have started week one. All right. You start 3-0.
22:52You shut people like me up. I always defer to Clint Kubiak. And I always say this.
22:58I'm not in practice. But there's also the simple math of it where if you draft an experienced
23:05quarterback number one overall, he better be ready. The team better be ready. And here's the
23:11expectation, I'm not going to get off this, to make the playoffs in 2027. Like, that's what we're
23:17talking about. Caleb Williams, number one overall pick, made the playoffs his second season after he
23:25was the number one overall pick. That's how this works when you draft the quarterback number one
23:30overall. So we will officially judge this next year. I just am going to first guess this because
23:39Kirk Cousins, I can't watch him anymore. I'm not in practice. I'll keep saying it. I think Kubiak's
23:45phenomenal. But you can't start him against the Jets. The Jets. So I look at that schedule.
23:53I listen to what Kubiak's saying. I don't think we're going to see Fernando Mendoza for more than
23:58five games this year. And I've got a major problem with that. There is only one undefeated team
24:05right now in the NFL. And I think the Minnesota Vikings are getting destroyed in the court of public
24:12opinion. And I don't want this happening on my watch. Now I get some of the stats and facts and
24:19figures
24:19here. And it's on the screen at the bottom. Fewest touchdowns 10 during a 6-0 start since the 1934
24:30Detroit Lions. So basically the fewest amount of touchdowns are a 6-0 start in the modern era of
24:37football. And I understand that the offense looks poor. If I say anything else, I'm not doing my job.
24:45The Vikings offense looks poor. The Vikings defense is phenomenal. And you look at Brian Flores,
24:53he's unbelievable. He knows when to blitz. He's supremely intelligent. His players love playing
24:59for him. And obviously you look at the schedule they've played. You see it on the screen right
25:04there. And this is why it's a topic for conversation. Third easiest strength of schedule this season.
25:09They have the hardest strength of schedule coming up weeks 8 through 11 as they have Detroit this
25:16weekend, then Buffalo, Green Bay, and the San Francisco 49ers. And there's also the optics,
25:23and I'll mention it. J.J. McCarthy playing brilliantly for two weeks, fourth quarter against the Saints,
25:31and for four quarters plus overtime against the Houston Texans for the New York Football Giants.
25:37And obviously the Minnesota Vikings were done with J.J. McCarthy, which I think is about a change of
25:44scenery and I think is a credit to McCarthy and a credit to Harbaugh. But the optics look dead.
25:50And the former general manager in Minnesota screwed everything up. Sam Darnold, Daniel Jones,
25:55Aaron Rodgers, and that's how we get here. Now, let's start here. The Vikings are not frauds.
26:03The Minnesota Vikings are a phenomenal undefeated football team. Now, do I think they're going to
26:09win the division? I do not. I still think Chicago wins the division and the Minnesota Vikings make
26:15the playoffs via the wild card. I also think that Kyler Murray must get better, will get better. I also
26:24think the Minnesota Vikings need to be in the mix to trade for a running back. Jonathan Taylor,
26:30Saquon Barkley, somebody else, Tony Pollard. These are the kind of names that I think should emerge
26:36and will emerge here for the Minnesota Vikings. I think Minnesota with this kind of defense and
26:42Kevin O'Connell is a superb head coach and Justin Jefferson is a superstar. Lions played well.
26:48Hawkinson's played well. I think Minnesota deserves more credits and respect. If we were doing a shine
26:55time power rankings, and I'm not going to tell you the Vikings look good against the Colts, they did not,
27:01I'd put Minnesota number one. And it's not just because, you know, I would be beholden to records,
27:07right? I haven't done that in power rankings. I've thought Jacksonville was better than undefeated
27:12Kansas City or Buffalo better than Kansas City when Kansas City was undefeated before they lost to
27:17Seattle. And by the way, you see what happened with Kansas City? That would be the correct and only take.
27:22I think the Vikings are strong. I'm not picking them to go to the Super Bowl. I'm not picking them
27:26to
27:26win the division. I think they deserve more credits and respect. And I can't wait until they beat the
27:33hell out of the Detroit Lions this weekend.
27:36Here comes Giannis. Oh, my. He almost brought the roof down.
27:42Up ahead. Wiggins for the lead. Oh, way off. Cooper got a piece of it.
27:49To Cooper in the backcourt. Cooper brings it up. Cooper with Dallas in front by two and looking for more.
27:57And they have more because Cooper attacks and scores.
28:01I got to tell you, if you're a Milwaukee sports fan and you thought the World Series was unbelievable
28:08and you're loving every single second of what's going on with your baseball team
28:14and you're kind of on the sports equinox, start flipping around, checking some scores,
28:19and you're now rooting against the Miami Heats, yeah, this is good stuff.
28:26And this is not a fluke. Understand, I love Giannis Antetokounmpo.
28:31And I said the second on Shine Time that the Heat made the trade. And it was a great trade
28:36for Miami.
28:36I just felt like the Heat were going to turn into the Miami Bucs. That's who they are. This team
28:43stinks.
28:44And they're 0-4. And I was looking at the Eastern Conference standings and I just couldn't even find Milwaukee.
28:51I couldn't even find Miami. They're not even pictured. They're down number 15.
28:56You know when you're in trouble, when you're behind the Brooklyn Nets. That's all you need to know.
29:01When you trail the Brooklyn Nets in anything, that's a problem. That's no good.
29:08So I think if you're a Milwaukee sports fan and you knew that this was going to be a trade
29:13that
29:14you had to make even though you didn't want to. You thought he was going to go to Boston.
29:18You were going to get some good players in return. Get Jalen Brown. That was going to be amazing.
29:22And obviously the Celtics didn't put a couple of role players in and now you see what's going on
29:26with Brown and Tatum and the Sixers and it still makes absolutely no sense.
29:30You're all upset. Your basketball team has no hope, no future.
29:35You root for your baseball team and you root against the Miami heats.
29:40Yeah, Milwaukee, this is for you. To OKC where the Jalen Williams injury news has
29:45advanced as expected after an emotional night for the Thunder on Sunday night.
29:57What's going through you right now?
30:00Yeah, I don't even know.
30:06I just feel bad for them. Nothing more than that.
30:11It's awful. I mean, Kelly Williams is one of my favorite players in the league.
30:14You know, they won a championship at OKC a couple of years ago.
30:18He kind of had those Scottie Pippen vibes, right? In terms of truly great player,
30:25doing everything, clearly the number two on his team. And listen,
30:31you know, the Knicks took advantage, obviously, of San Antonio and, you know,
30:35their teams in the East that had injuries. The best team in the NBA last year was OKC.
30:39And, you know, OKC couldn't make it to the NBA Finals and credit the Spurs.
30:44Main reason why was because Jalen Williams was hurt, which is why when we did our preseason
30:48picks before the season here on Sean Time, I said Thunder beat the Knicks in the NBA Finals.
30:55Not only is this devastating for Williams as a person and as a player, you saw the raw emotion from
31:01SGA.
31:02Think about all those great postgame interviews the Thunder players do together where it's never
31:06just one player. They all show up together and, you know, they make sure to all be part of the
31:11moment for each other. It's just an amazing team to watch and their depth and talent and bond and
31:17brotherhood. The Thunder season ended when Williams got hurt. And SGA is unbelievable and a ridiculous
31:24talent. But this team no longer can win a championship. There is no other way to frame it.
31:31There's no other way to phrase it. It sucks. But I think that's part of the sadness here,
31:37in addition to obviously the person and the player and who he is and what he means to the team
31:42and the
31:42fabric of that locker room in the community. The Oklahoma City Thunder, their season came to a halt.
31:50They cannot win a championship now that Jalen Williams in that awful, grotesque Theismann-esque scene.
31:57I just, I was sick watching it now that Jalen Williams is done for the season. But wait, there's more.
32:09There's medical reasons why he is choosing to not play. He's not choosing.
32:15Yeah, he's not choosing. But I can't go into great detail about it other than it's bigger than
32:22what we can say. Now I do know, like I said, that he's going to be 100% recovered and
32:26be able to be
32:26an effective player in the future. But this isn't like a selfish decision on Dante's part saying,
32:32I don't want to come back. The season doesn't look like the way I want it to look. That's not
32:36at all
32:36what this is. So I'm going to take Dan Lanning, the Oregon coach at his work. And I think that's,
32:43it's also 100% true. Look, even if it wasn't, and Dante Moore was protecting himself for his NFL
32:52career, I would understand that as well. I also think that when Dante Moore was concussed,
32:59we talked about this on Shine Time, there was a shot, especially when Oregon started losing games,
33:06that Dante Moore was done for the season. Because it would make sense business-wise.
33:10But clearly, he hasn't been cleared. And the hit was vicious. And now at this stage,
33:16Dante Moore needs to make sure he's ready for the upcoming NFL draft. I want to reset before I move
33:22forward. I defended Dante Moore when he went back to school. I thought Dante Moore was a phenomenal
33:30player in college who needed more game experience. It's also not what it was in the past, where if you
33:36don't go pro, there's nothing in your bank account, players are now getting paid. So very different
33:42scenario when we start talking about players not going into the NFL, and you stay in college,
33:48and you're making a boatload of money. Okay. And I thought Moore made the right decision. This
33:53was not Dante Moore avoiding the Jets. It was Dante Moore looking at his games played. You see it on
34:00the
34:00screen from 2023, 2024, 2025, and he needed more action. Well, he didn't get it. When he played in 2026,
34:13he was phenomenal. You see the stats on the screen, 70% in terms of completion percentage,
34:17nine touchdowns, zero interceptions. Obviously, 2025, he was phenomenal. 72% completion percentage
34:24through for just a boatload of yards, 30 touchdowns, 10 picks. Did obviously have the hiccups in the
34:31playoffs, but terrific talent. He would have been the second overall pick. Now, I think especially
34:38when you have a concussion in your history, we have to, if you're an NFL team, take a breath,
34:45and we have to make sure that this is not a reoccurring situation. For the person, you got to make
34:51sure that
34:51he could function. Obviously, no one knows the severity. I'm not going to pretend that I do,
34:55but you have to make sure that he's okay in terms of being normal life and then football. A lot
35:01of NFL
35:01players get concussions, then they're fine. Some get concussions, and they get reoccurring concussions,
35:08and then they're prone to concussions. C2 or Tonga-Vailoa. That's not what you want this to be.
35:14I still think if, and we have a long ways to go, which is why I want to be ahead
35:20on this.
35:21If Dante Moore checks out medically, I still think he's a first-round pick. Look at Mel Kuyper Jr.
35:28and his current rankings, and we have a long ways to go, okay? Mel's my guy, and Mel's the best.
35:34I do
35:35think Mestermaker is going to end up being first quarterback picked. I'm not saying top pick in the
35:42draft because, depending upon the team, could be Jeremiah Smith going number one overall. But
35:47Mestermaker, let's call him the most likely candidate to be the first quarterback selected.
35:53He's got everything you want. I think Mensah and Chambliss, they're very safe picks. They are super
36:03smart, play on big-time stages, make every throw. You know, Chambliss doesn't necessarily have the
36:10heights, and he's obviously a little older. He goes to the right team, and he becomes an instant
36:17starter. Like, he could be the Jets quarterback if they don't take a quarterback with their first
36:22two first-round picks, depending upon where they fit. He'd be a perfect Pittsburgh Steeler if they
36:28want to draft their quarterback next year in the first round. I think C.J. Carr goes, and I think,
36:33and again, we still have a long ways to go in the season. Let's see what happens in the Miami
36:37-Norder
36:37game. I think C.J. Carr is going to be a great pro. And I think Mensah and Carr, those
36:44are two guys
36:44that dominate the draft process where scouts fall in love, coaches fall in love, they dazzle at the
36:52combine, the interview process. I'm not convinced the Missouri quarterback's coming out. I'm not
36:58convinced that Arch Manning is coming out, which leads me back with a point and a purpose to Dante
37:05Moore. I think Dante Moore is as good as these guys, if healthy. I think Dante Moore would have
37:13been great as a Jet quarterback with that number two overall pick. I think, you know, as a quick
37:20example, if the Indianapolis Colts steal Dante Moore in round two, they have their week one starter,
37:28they have their next franchise quarterback. Like, you have to start thinking about situations and
37:34that's as important as anything else when it comes to quarterbacks and their success and their hit rate
37:40versus fails and if they ultimately become busts. So, I'm rooting for Dante Moore. I don't think he was
37:47running back to college to avoid the Jets. I think this was a smart decision. I think it was the
37:53right
37:53decision. I'm sad for him that this is how his college career, for all intents and purposes,
37:59ended. I had such high hopes for his season in Oregon. I had such high hopes for Oregon this year.
38:05That hit changed everything. I don't think it has to be a slippery slope, though, of negativity
38:12for Dante Moore. That right there, that's a show. If you miss any portion of the show, do what I
38:17do.
