00:00God accepted his brother's offering, not his, and that difference would end in the first murder
00:06recorded in the Bible. Cain and Abel brought their offerings to God, but God looked with
00:12favor on Abel and his offering. Cain saw it, and instead of examining his own heart, he turned
00:19against his brother. His face fell, his anger grew, and jealousy began to take control.
00:26God warned Cain that sin was waiting at his door. Cain could still choose to do what was right,
00:33but he didn't. He led Abel into the field, and there Cain rose against his own brother and killed
00:41him. Think about it. Abel had become the target of Cain's hatred simply because his offering found
00:49favor with God. And when the Lord asked where Abel was, Cain could not escape the truth.
00:56His jealousy had crossed a terrible line. The Bible's first murder began long before the killing
01:03itself. It began in a heart that allowed resentment to grow unchecked. Because when jealousy takes
01:10control, even the people closest to us can become the targets of our bitterness.
