Every aspect of daily life feels like it’s getting more expensive, and even grabbing a quick burger can leave a serious dent in your wallet. Despite this, a recent study found that Yorkshire households spend £260 a year on takeaways, which is 14% above the national average. With the cost of living rising and fast-food prices climbing, how much is too much for a burger? Is there much beef when it comes to burger prices?

00:00The maximum cost I'd spend on a burger these days is about two quid.
00:04Around £20 for two.
00:06The most I would spend on a burger would be about £3.
00:10I'd like one to cost about three quid, thanks very much.
00:13The most I'm willing to spend on a burger is about, ooh, four quid, I'm tired.
00:21After school we would go to Salas Chicken and Chip Shop and we only paid less than £2, £3.50
00:26and then now it's like £10, £20 and it's like absurd rates of like just for burger and chips alone
00:33with the wings.
00:34It's just robbery, isn't it? You're paying more.
00:37I do find that they're getting quite expensive nowadays.
00:40Yeah, they're certainly not a treat like they used to be.
00:44Years ago everybody used to like order a takeaway because you could get a takeaway for two for a tenner.
00:50Now you're talking £30, but like basic.
00:54And to be honest, to me, takeaways, they all taste the same.
00:58Doesn't matter what you get, it's all the same.
01:00Yeah.
01:01And no, I'd rather have a decent meal than a takeaway basically now.
01:05I like a lot of things and a lot of food you're buying in shops.
01:07Everything's smaller, but it costs more money.
01:10All it is is quick food, processed food, which is poisoned each and every one of us.
01:14So I'm not an hypocrite, and me as well.
01:17They are becoming very expensive these days, very expensive.
01:21And at the end of the day, they're not really good for you though, are they?
01:24We're at an economy where things are getting more expensive and things are not cheaper anymore.
01:28It's a luxury for us.
01:29No money.
01:30fields.
01:30I love no money.
