00:00Today's budget was a retail budget aimed at an early general election.
00:06I've been predicting this election since September 2024.
00:10I feel ever more convinced that it will, as I said all the way back then, come in May of
00:15next year.
00:16And it will be economic realities, I thought then, that would force an early election.
00:23Well, that perhaps combined, but what we're seeing after 100 days of a Burnham government,
00:27where, frankly, everything the Prime Minister does, everything the Chancellor did today,
00:33is aimed at lots and lots of little giveaways.
00:37Little giveaways that of themselves actually look quite attractive.
00:43And this budget made a vast number of pledges.
00:47Three million here, ten million there, fifteen million there.
00:50Funny how nearly every single one of the places getting those small sums of money
00:55is a marginal Labour-held seat.
01:00And that really says a lot about this budget.
01:03It doesn't overall do very much, but it attempts to please a very large number of people.
01:10Thank you very much, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you,
