00:00When our participants finish, they won't just get a certificate to hang on a wall.
00:07They'll get a certificate of competency at CVQ Level 1,
00:11which is recognized against national and regional occupational standards.
00:17This is a qualification you can take into any job interview and say,
00:23I am trained, I am assessed, and I am certified.
00:27The program commences on November 10th throughout 20th at the Shore Park Sporting Facility.
00:34Minister Watts, in his address, said the training program can lead to greater opportunities,
00:40especially in light of the collaboration between the Ministry of Sport and the Division of Sport.
00:46But let me tell you where this can lead.
00:50It can lead to job-maintaining school fields, community grounds, and recreation parks right here in Tobago.
00:58It can lead to working at our major venues, the grounds that host regional and international matches.
01:05It can lead to hotels, golf courses, and resorts,
01:10which matters so much to Tobago tourism development and the economy.
01:15Sport Secretary Keegan De Noon said, with a lean THE budget,
01:20there must be innovation towards achieving expectant goals.
01:25We must accept the fact that we are operating in a time where there are cuts in our budgets.
01:32Like it or not, it's something that we have to accept.
01:36But that means that we have to become more innovative, more creative.
01:42We can no longer work in silos.
01:44We must work collaboratively.
