00:02When people remember the FIFA World Cup, they remember the goalscorers, the superstars and the players lifting the trophy.
00:10But in 2002, an unexpected hero named Oliver carried Germany through a tournament nobody expected him to dominate.
00:21Germany entered the World Cup without the attacking brilliance of previous champions.
00:26And few believed they could reach the final.
00:30Yet, Oliver stood between the goal ports like an unbreakable wall.
00:35Every save gave his teammates hope and every match strengthened their belief.
00:41While the world celebrated goals, Germany's goalkeeper quietly became the heart of their campaign.
00:49Match after match, Oliver produced extraordinary saves rescuing Germany when their defense looked vulnerable.
00:58Add his concentration, courage and leadership transformed difficult moments into opportunities.
01:04He became the first goalkeeper to win the FIFA World Cup Golden Ball as the tournament's best player.
01:13For a goalkeeper, this recognition was extraordinary because football usually celebrates the people who score, not those who prevent defeat.
01:24Oliver proved that greatness does not always require scoring a spectacular goal.
01:31Sometimes, greatness means standing alone under immense pressure, knowing that one mistake could destroy an entire nation's dream.
01:41Germany finally reached the 2002 World Cup final against Brazil, led by Ronaldo, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho.
01:51For Oliver, it was the opportunity to complete an unforgettable journey.
01:57But football can be cruel even to its greatest heroes.
02:01During the final, a shot from Rivaldo slipped through Oliver's grasp, allowing Ronaldo to score the opening goal.
02:12Brazil eventually won 2-0 and Germany's dream of lifting the trophy disappeared.
02:19Oliver stood devastated, knowing that one mistake had overshadowed months of extraordinary performances.
02:28The same goalkeeper, who had saved Germany countless times, now had to face the pain of defeat before millions of
02:38viewers.
02:40Oliver Kahan never lifted the 2002 FIFA World Cup trophy.
02:45But his tournament remains one of the greatest individual goalkeeping performances in World Cup history.
02:58There are two kinds of spouses that went on.
03:03I was also waiting for him to come back to Switzerland and no one of the greatest people.
03:04To be honest, the first person who played the ball to recover from the world is probably too much earlier.
03:07The two people that we saw the whole group of the people who played the guise for the world,
03:09The one of the greatest performers of England are the biggest heroine as the world.
03:10He was built by Shavikos for the next year.
