00:01Soccer is a great passion of mine.
00:05This hand was actually in the hand of Lionel Messi on Monday night.
00:14Not because I particularly wanted to meet him, but my wife did.
00:19Lionel Messi converted her to soccer.
00:23She had no interest in it at all until she saw how this man played ball.
00:28And I knew he was going to be at this event.
00:31I'd accepted an invitation to present an award because I'm also president of the academy of a premiership football team
00:38in England.
00:39Team I've supported since I was seven.
00:42And I knew there would be a lot of great, because it was an international event.
00:46It wasn't just the British Football League.
00:49And I didn't know that Messi would be there.
00:53But I hoped that he would.
00:55And I told my wife, if he's there, I will do everything in my power to bring the two of
01:00you face to face.
01:02And she said, what if he becomes my celebrity pass?
01:05I said, that's fine by me.
01:08Absolutely fine by me.
01:09And it was really, really hard because there was security like you've never seen.
01:15You know, it might have been the royal family in attendance because there was Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
01:22And there was the other great Argentinian.
01:29Ah, an old guy now.
01:31Maradona.
01:32Maradona, thank you.
01:33Diego Maradona.
01:35La mano de Dios.
01:37He actually handed a ball into the net of the British goal in a match once.
01:41And you couldn't get to them.
01:44I was sitting on the front row, but right at one end of the cinema.
01:47And all these guys were at the other end of the cinema.
01:53And I decided, when the show is over, I'm going to make a run for it.
01:57And they were saying, thank you, everybody.

02:18And then I hit the security wall.

02:24I'm so embarrassed myself.

02:28Thinking it might have some impact.
02:31I arrived and they were going, oh, yeah, okay.
02:36And I saw Cristiano Ronaldo look up and go, oh, who's this guy?
02:41And I couldn't see Leo.
02:45He wasn't inside.
02:47He had actually turned around and bent down over his seat.
02:50And he's quite short.
02:52And so he just vanished behind everybody.
02:55And I stood behind him and then he stood up and turned around and we were face to face.
02:59And his face, oh, you see, this is very emotional for me.
03:03And I, he just beamed into my face.
03:07And I, and I said, Señor Messi, por favor, mi esposa.
03:17And they shook hands.
03:19And, and, and, and then his, and then I said, can I please take a photograph of the two of
03:26you together?
03:26So I took the, not a selfie.
03:28I took a photograph of Lionel Messi and my wife side by side.
03:31And then his wife said, and I want a photograph with you.
03:35And I said, well, that was only four nights ago.
03:46And as you can see, I'm still a little stimulated by, back over to you.
03:52Yeah, well, his, and his, well, his response at seeing you, I mean, that's always been our response to seeing
03:56you on screen.
03:57And which is one of the reasons why Logan is such, you've lost, you lost 20 pounds for, for Logan,
