00:09what is up gamers this is your boy John aka the gamer here it's been a while but I'm back
00:15with
00:16a new video game review so let's get started today I'll be reviewing eat lead the return
00:23of Matt hazard on ps3 eat lead is a cover based third-person shooter in this game you step into
00:30the shoes of old-school action game hero Matt hazard a video game character of 25 years who has
00:37seen the highs and lows of his career and is now making a comeback in his newest game but something
00:45goes awry when someone removes the saves from the game leaving Matt vulnerable to permanent death
00:50an avatar slash hacker by the name of QA comes to Matt's aid and guides him throughout the game
00:57there are eight levels you must traverse through to find out who's Matt saboteur levels range from a
01:04Japanese steakhouse a giant yacht the docks and many more most of which are pretty basic nothing that
01:11really catches your eye except when the game acts like it's glitching like for example you'll be
01:17running in a regular factory just running and gunning then all of a sudden you're running through a
01:22corridor that looks like you came out of castle Wolfenstein or Wolfenstein 3d which brings me to
01:28my next point this game is shock full of video game references as well as video game cliches it makes
01:35reference to games such as halo Duke Nukem Wolfenstein and many more it pokes fun at the video game
01:42cliches such as text scrolling RPGs long elevator rides masking as long loading times shooting zombies in
01:51the head and many more that's one of the cool things about this game it doesn't take itself too
01:57seriously and I think that's something gamers will appreciate now the enemies in this game are all
02:03based on Matt's previous games enemies include zombies nazis space marines fembots yes I said fembots
02:12and many more there are many weapons at your disposal to dispatch of these foes the only downside is that
02:21you can only carry two weapons at a time weapons include pistols shotguns AK-47s laser guns grenade launchers
02:31water guns yes water guns and many more although there are certain ways to defeat certain enemies
02:38like for example when you fight the space marines it's best to use their own futuristic weapons against
02:44them because regular guns aren't aren't as effective for zombies just shoot them in the head obviously in
02:52each stage enemies will come at you in waves most of the time gets repetitive although there are things to
02:58help you out such as fire and ice upgrades power-ups such as double damage invincibility and explosive
03:05barrels boss battles are pretty mediocre since most of them consist of quick time events all except for
03:14the kraken boss battle which was pretty awesome the sound design is decent enough a cool little tidbit
03:22about the music is that almost every enemy has their own theme for example when when you're fighting the
03:28russians they play a james bond style theme when you're fighting the nazis plays in old-school 8-bit midi
03:36tune a la wolfenstein but i'd say the best part about the sound in the game is the voice acting
03:41especially
03:42matt hazard who is voiced by none other than job bluth oh i mean well arnett he does an amazing
03:54job as a wisecracking
03:55action hero every time i play this i pretend i'm playing as joe bluth oh yeah and the main villain
04:02of the
04:03game is voiced by nph neil patrick harris although in this role he seems a bit too whiny especially as
04:12a
04:12villain but maybe that's just character overall eat lead is a fairly decent game but the gameplay could have been
04:19a lot better and more exciting maybe included an awesome multiplayer mode but
04:25i digress gamers will still appreciate the video game references cliches and human i give this game a solid
04:32six out of ten thanks for watching and keep on gaming
