Transcript
00:00We're at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards and standing next to me we have Bad Baby.
00:04Welcome to the Red Carver.
00:05Welcome to Carpetium.
00:06We're so glad to have you here.
00:07Thank you for having me.
00:08So thank you so much for joining us.
00:10First I want to know, what did you listen to when you were getting ready tonight?
00:15I listened to this song by Y5's Funeral and YB in the Mirror.
00:19I can't remember what it's called now.
00:21It's a remake from an old song, I can't remember what it's called.
00:23So Bad Baby, if you could pick one album out of everything you listen to to describe your
00:28life, what would it be?
00:35Wow, I don't know.
00:40What's that one album that Jennifer Lopez had that had like the I'm Real Remix and-
00:44Oh, that was the JLo Remixes album, I know that one.
00:47No, the Remix album, it had All I Have and like-
00:52Oh, that's like her third album.
00:55Yes, I can't remember what it's called, but that one for sure.
00:57I love that.
00:58Like, you know, softness mixed with like hood bitch mixed with like all that shit, you know
01:03what I'm saying?
01:04I love that.
01:05So you're, you know, nominated today in the hip hop category for female rappers.
01:10Who would you say has been one of your biggest musical inspirations?
01:14I don't really have inspiration.
01:16I don't really look up to anyone in music.
01:19The only person I could necessarily say is Cardi because, you know, we were both very controversial,
01:24hated and now we're just like, fuck you, I don't really care what you think.
01:27You know what I'm saying?
01:28Yeah.
01:28So it's like, I guess I could say Cardi, but I don't really like look up to anyone because
01:35I want to have my own career.
01:37I don't want to mimic someone else's career.
01:39I want to do what I do.
01:39You know what I'm saying?
01:40Yeah.
01:40Okay.
01:41I like that.
01:41I can appreciate that.
01:42So one thing about the music industry now is you can have an inside look at people's
01:45lives through social media or YouTube.
01:47How do you think those have changed the way that you approach new projects or really have
01:51approached your music career?
01:53That I approach like people.
01:55Or through like social media, through YouTube.
01:58How do you think that's changed the way you now approach projects?
02:00Well, I think like, for example, people know a lot about people's lives now because
02:05everyone likes to talk in social media and now you could, you could hear someone's music
02:11and like it and then you see like shit they do and you're like, ah, I don't want to do
02:17nothing to do with that.
02:18No, fuck that.
02:19I don't do that.
02:19So as you mentioned, you have been controversial.
02:22Your career so far has been controversial.
02:23Why do you think people are so interested in who Bad Baby is?
02:28Because people are nosy as fuck.
02:32People are very nosy so it's like, okay.
02:37So Bad Baby, what do you think, what do you think is next for you?
02:41Can we expect new music, an album, videos?
02:43I'm dropping a project, a mixtape in July.
02:47Can you tell us anything about it?
02:49Ty Dolla $ign is going to be on it.
02:51Okay.
02:52All right.
02:52Well, my last question for you is if you could tell your haters anything before you go, what
02:56would it be?
02:56Fuck you.
02:59Bye.
02:59Bye.
02:59And you heard it first here, folks.
03:01You know what?
03:02That interview went exactly as I expected.
