00:04I've always been a fan of Refinery29 in general. I've been reading the site for
00:09years now. I mean it's been online for 12 years which is amazing. I like the fact
00:15that the way women are portrayed is so different from all the other fashion
00:20magazines. They basically started the movement of women empowering which I
00:25really like. I got into fashion by accident, to be honest. I studied to
00:33become a teacher in the first place and then I somehow met so many people in the
00:37fashion industry and they kind of pushed me into it and I started writing and I
00:41enjoyed it and fashion always was my biggest passion and now I'm the editor
00:47in chief for Refinery29 Germany.
00:54The Fashion Weeks are so important for us as journalists and fashion editors
00:59because it's the biggest inspiration you can get in five days and you meet all
01:05your friends and all your colleagues and you sleep in collections and you talk to
01:09the designers and you sit at dinners together and it's just five days of
01:15madness. And I'm really looking forward to mainly Lala Berlin, Marina Hermanns Eger,
01:22William Phan, Vladimir Karalev and also the Mihalski Style Night is always really good fun.
01:33I've done loads of Fashion Weeks all over the world and obviously it only looks like super fun and
01:41people think that we are just drinking champagne and talking all the time and
01:44being invited to fabulous dinners but actually it's super hard work what people
01:50don't see. And what I figured is you have to wear comfortable clothes so never wear
01:56anything that you don't feel comfy in or that you don't feel that it's basically you.
02:02And the most important thing is if you don't have people surrounding you that you actually
02:07like and that you actually worship and respect it will be a shitty fashion week.
02:13So basically as with every other event and every other day in your life it's the
02:17people that make it special.
