00:02Hi, Mad Chatters. I'm Candice and I'm the R29 Master of Insights.
00:07Hi, I'm Maddie Guthrie. I'm a digital account executive focusing on all things entertainment.
00:12I'm Lily and I'm a lifestyle editor at Refinery29.
00:16I'm Camille. I'm an experiential strategist here at Refinery.
00:20Hi, my name is Brittany and I'm a software engineer at Refinery29.
00:26Hey, Mad Chatters, I'm Brooke, your Community Insights Manager, a.k.a. your R29 brand ambassador.
00:31We really appreciate all the questions you guys answer for us month after month
00:34and so we just want to take a second to answer a couple of your questions.
00:37Welcome to our office.
00:53Hey, Refinery29. My name is Kel. I'm from Elkridge, Maryland and my question is, I was wondering how the team
01:00comes up for the ideas for the articles that they write and also who comes up with the ideas for
01:05the catchy titles. Thanks.
01:06Thank you for the question, Kelly. I think that when you're a storyteller it's really impossible to turn that part
01:13of your brain off even when you're not on the clock.
01:16I know that for me at least I get my best and most unexpected story ideas just when I'm thinking
01:22about things that I want to read that I'm not finding on the internet anywhere.
01:25I also think that we're a really curious group by nature so we make it a point to go out
01:29into the world and explore and unearth things that we're really excited to share with our readers.
01:34In terms of headlines, I think that we just try to be as clear and direct as possible. We know
01:40that our readers are really busy so we want it to be really easy to come to the site and
01:44find things that are going to resonate most with you and you're going to get the most worth out of.
01:47What are the demographics of the Refinery29 staff?
01:52Great question. We are about 449 people now globally so that's our New York, LA, London and Germany offices. We
02:01are 80% women which is awesome. 46% of us live in Brooklyn and 1% of us live
02:08in Staten Island.
02:09My question is, I was wondering which articles garner the most comments? Thanks.
02:14Our most commented articles this year have been about hot topic issues at the forefront of the election.
02:20Or about stories on the mistreatment of women and celebrities. Candace?
02:28Hi Refinery29, I'm Emily from Wisconsin. I've been reading your website for a while and I love it.
02:34I have a question for you guys. What do you all wear to the office?
02:39I work at a super casual office and I feel like I get stuck wearing the same thing every day.
02:44Thanks for the tips.
02:45Hey Emily, thanks for your question. We're very casual here at Refinery and we're going to go take a look.
02:52I'm riding around in my car's low. What you like for? I feel like I hit the lotto. What you
03:00like for? I'm riding around in my girl's eye. What you like for? We're riding around just to get by.
03:07What the you like for? I'm riding around in my car's low. What you like for?
03:14Hi Ashley and I'm an avid Refinery29 reader. My question is, I get very few mad chatter questionnaires. Is that
03:22because they don't pertain to me?
03:24Hi Ashley, thanks for your question. We only send surveys to a randomized group of mad chatters and we rarely
03:31send invites to everyone and that's to avoid spamming your inbox.
03:34We try to make sure everyone gets an invite at least every few weeks, but people do definitely slip through
03:39the cracks.
03:40Just keep letting us know if you feel like we're neglecting you. We're working on lots of new ways to
03:45make sure that you feel like you're part of the community and ways to engage you and make you feel
03:49more special. More to come.
03:51Thanks mad chatter. We love you. Thanks mad chatter.
03:55Thanks mad chatter. Thank you mad chatter for everything.
03:59That's all for now. We hope you guys enjoyed the tour and finding out a little bit more about us.
04:03Talk to you soon. Bye!
