00:04My mom said to me, you can do anything you want in life as long as you work hard enough
00:12and you never give up.
00:13My mom giving me that gift, which is the ultimate gift you can give a child,
00:17which is to believe in them and instill that belief in themselves.
00:20I think right now, more than ever, women are coming together in a way that they haven't since the 1920s.
00:27It's beautiful to see when women come together to help one another.
00:31And from a really young age, I felt that pressure, women being objectified and trivialized and told,
00:38if you don't look a certain way, you're not going to be loved. If you don't act a certain way,
00:41you're not going to be successful.
00:42And I really, it really troubled me.
00:46I searched out roles about women who were multifaceted and diverse and showed all those qualities of who we are.
00:53I was really blessed to play a lot of real-life women who have persevered through adversity
01:00and encouraged me to step into my own fullest potential in a way that I wouldn't had I not played
01:06those women.
01:07Everything that happens to us proves an opportunity to learn from.
01:12And I've always looked at a perceived setback as an opportunity to grow or a mistake that I've made as
01:19an opportunity to learn.
01:21And those have been some of the best experiences for me to understand myself on a level that I wouldn't
01:28had that not happened to me.
