00:00You spend your whole life going,
00:01oh my gosh, I hope I'm not pregnant, oh my gosh.
00:04And then when you're like, okay, now, it's no problem,
00:07then it's like, erp.
00:08My name is Glozell Green,
00:10and I'm here to talk about infertility, dun, dun, dun.
00:15Ooh, we shouldn't talk about it, but we going to.
00:17We are going to.
00:23When I first decided that I wanted to get pregnant
00:26and it wasn't happening, I decided, okay,
00:28I needed up my wheat grass,
00:30I was going to Whole Foods all the time,
00:32make sure you get more greens.
00:33I got V-steams.
00:34What's a V-steam?
00:35That's when you sit on like this pot
00:37and steam is going right in the crotch of my...
00:39You only egg.
00:41Some people believe in like crystals,
00:44you know, that gives you certain energy.
00:46Well, it's like, it's a crystal that's shaped like an egg,
00:48and you insert it,
00:51and then you're like right where the issue is.
00:54Do you understand what I'm saying?
00:55I'm trying not to be graphic.
00:56And I'm telling people what I'm doing,
00:57and some people are like, oh yeah,
00:58you need to do that other energy.
00:59And some people are like, what are you doing?
01:00That's crazy.
01:01All you need to do is pray.
01:03Then of course, my mom's like,
01:04well, Halle Berry had a baby at over 40.
01:06I'm like, I'll just go to a fertility doctor.
01:11Well, she was saying that, oh no,
01:14I can't help you.
01:15You're too far along with your...
01:16I think you have endometriosis.
01:18Let's test for that.
01:20Yes, you do, which means like basically
01:22your body parts are kind of fusing together.
01:24What?
01:25See, I thought it was fat.
01:26That's just like this right here.
01:27That's just all endometriosis.
01:30I'm like, well, thank you.
01:31That's not just fat.
01:32That's the first doctor.
01:33And the second doctor was the same thing.
01:35The third doctor doesn't look like
01:36we're going to be able to help you.
01:38And he suggested a surrogate.
01:44The IVF process for me was always to be able
01:47to get some eggs to put into a surrogate.
01:50The doctor gives me shots and they're trying to,
01:53because most people, you know, you have one egg.
01:56They want you to grow multiple eggs.
01:57So you have more chances.
02:00You're taking your shots and they're upping the shots.
02:02And then you have to go get your sonograms.
02:04And they're checking to make sure that your follicles are growing.
02:08I did that six times.
02:10So that's six months worth of taking hormones.
02:13And a lot of people are scared of shots.
02:14But if you're trying to get pregnant,
02:16it's being pregnant a whole lot, you know,
02:19more intense than just giving shots.
02:21You talk to them.
02:21Oh, and they're pushing and all this stuff coming out.
02:24And sometimes you're pooping and you're DP.
02:25And you know, there's people there.
02:27And you're just like, you know,
02:29and you're not, you know, you're not like looking the cutest.
02:31I call it my eggs, green eggs.
02:33And I call my husband ham, you know, so green eggs and ham.
02:36They put that together and they make the embryo.
02:39Okay.
02:39So that's the potential baby.
02:42And they put that inside the uterus.
02:44Now that can go inside my uterus or in my case,
02:48it went inside my surrogate's uterus.
02:50Thank you for your uterus.
02:55The feeling that I felt when I finally found the surrogate
02:59was pure joy and ecstasy.
03:01I was excited that someone was willing to do this.
03:05Like, would I do that for someone?
03:06Would I carry someone's key?
03:08But nine months, I mean, it takes a special person.
03:11When I met her, she said,
03:13well, you know, I'll play your videos to my stomach
03:17so the baby will hear your voice.
03:19And when she said that, I'm like,
03:20I love her so much.
03:22I love her so much.
03:26We put two embryos in and one took,
03:29and we're going to have a little girl come ogies.
03:35Fertility is very expensive.
03:36Like, my baby right now is on layaway.
03:38You know, like, I got a payment plan.
03:41When you don't talk about something,
03:43you think that you're the only person that's going through it.
03:46We need to break the wall down.
03:48I'm glad to be one of the ones.
03:49I didn't want to be one of the ones.
03:51You know, I wouldn't mind supporting somebody else.
03:53And I have, like, all my kids.
03:55But it didn't work out like that.
03:56So, if I'm going through this,
03:59and maybe someone else is going through this,
04:00and I don't mind telling the story,
04:03don't give up.
